Laying on my bed, my eyes focused on my ceiling I couldn't still the sound of my slowly beating heart. I'd slept hard after crying, or more like messy sobbing. I had awoken to the sound of birds chirping in the distance, the sun was barely visible over the hills in the distance.

Despite the beauty of nature awakening outside of my room, the pain in my chest wouldn't abate. My body felt heavy with depression, and my eyes felt dry and crusty. "I love you." The whispered words left my lips so easily now. Ever since I'd first awoken I had laid here saying it over and over trying to figure out how I could say it to him.

Knuckles scratching against my door, caused me to grudgingly push myself up. I was surprised that my parents had allowed me to stay in my old room.

"Yes?"

I called, my voice cracked. Clearing it I called again, "Come in."

The door opened, and I met the red eyes of Heathers eyes. I could immediately smell the fear, and sadness on her. Throwing my legs over the side of the bed I stood alarmed. "What's wrong?!"

She stared at me, seeming surprised that I was actually in my room. "I-I'd hoped that he was here, w-with you."

I blinked at her, narrowing my eyes a feeling of weariness causing my skin to prickle, but I suppressed it. Slowly I spoke "Who should be here?"

She blinked, tears forming in her eyes, she raised a hand to cover her mouth. Haughtingly she said, "Ewan. He-He didn't come home last night, and you didn't so we assumed he'..." She paused swallowing, "Stayed here with you, but-."

Clenching my hands at my side, I refused to give in to the horror running threw my veins. Before Heather could finish the door was pushed wider by a flushed faced Roland. His eyes searched the room, his chest was heaving harshly.

Heather turned her attention to him, "He isn't here either."

Roland spat out a curse, before he could leave I stopped him. "Roland! What's going on?!"

He looked at me for minute, as if debating whether to tell me or not. "Roland!" I snapped, he wasn't going to hide anything involving my husband from me. He cursed once again, but I could he'd given in.

"Sorry my Lady," he said lowering his head, I could smell his remorse. "We can't locate the Laird, and-." He paused swallowing.

Clenching my jaw, I kept myself from yelling. Taking a deep breath, I spoke, "And?"

"The only thing we could find was his blood. He was severely wounded before he was dragged off my Lady."

Quiter words couldn't have been spoken, that would've cut me so deep. I lurched forward, nausea flooded my stomach. My vision narrowed, and I didn't realize that I was screaming. Until Heather jerked me close to her, my head was shaking.

What was this violent emotion running through me? Anger, Despair, and hazy feeling of rage. All of it was too much, so much that I could the wolf part of me fighting against my control to run free.

It took everything in me to shut my mouth, and simply breathe through my mouth. I pulled away from Heather ignoring her calling me back I ran out of the house. I could smell the fear of all the wolves, and anger.

It fueled me as I raced through the woods, following well known paths, and unknown ones. I ran and ran searching, my heart leaping with hope every time it heard or saw anything connected to Ewan. Only to feel a crushing disappointment. No matter how I ran, or how I looked I couldn't find him.

Soon the sun was slowly setting, and hopelessly I stood at the precipice of the cliff that overlooked the waterfall. My body ached from having not rested or eaten while searching for Ewan. My knees wobbled and I collapsed onto the stone, my sweat and dirt covered face, held only tracks from my frustrated tears.

Listlessly I listened to the water splash against the water below.

"I love you." I said, closing my eyes. My throat tightened, how could I still cry. "Please, please I love you."

Who was I begging? I knew it was stupid to think saying those words over and over, would bring Ewan back but...they were my only hope. My heart felt like it was being slowly crushed to death. I slapped at my chest, please stop I silently begged. Please just stop hurting, but I knew it was stupid, a delusion that the pain would stop soon.

Walking into the main house, I heard someone call my name. Heather and her mother rushed towards me, Heather eyes looked over with concern. "Where did you go?! We've been looking for you everywhere!"

I couldn't speak, crying and wailing were a bitch on the throat. Coughing I waved her off, Ewans mother Rose handed me a glass of water. I could that her worry for Ewan had caused wrinkles to appear on her forehead and around her mouth. She shook her head, "Lass, I've hope that his kinsman will find him."

I couldn't help but feel a skeptical of her hope, our family had many enemies anyone could've taken him. At that thought my stomach tightened, lowering my head I tried to control breathing.

"Any word?"

My Father asked from the kitchen doorway, his eyes were dark with concern. I shook my head, lowering my eyes. He sighed heavily, rubbing a tired hand over his head. "I've sent all the tribes out to look for him, yet no word yet." He grunted.

"Tanner." The cold voice wasn't unrecognizable to me, so I didn't bother to turn my attention to my mother. "Tanner!"

She called him louder, something about her panicked cadence caused me to tense. Lifting my eyes, I looked up when she appeared in the doorway behind my father. "Tanner, it's Argint he called us to the caves."

Hope rushed into me, she cast a look my way she leaned forward to whisper, but I spoke.

"Tell me!" I demanded, I laid the cup on the counter and walk towards them Heather and Rose followed my example. "If it's about Ewan it concerns me aswell."

She looked at me silently for a moment, before she spoke. "Argint says he's found something in relation to Ewan's disappearance, he's asking that we go to the caves." Heather and Rose let our excited words, only for my mother to say, "Only the Bellamy family, it involves the business."

I felt Heather and Roses displeasure with this, I lifted a hand. Turning to face them, "I'll go, and when I come back I'll tell you everything."

That seemed to appease them, turning my head back towards my parents I nodded. We quickly left the kitchen meeting a worried faced Chelsea and Rorik.

We made our way towards the meeting room.

**

As usual it was cold, and dark normally the servant prepared the area for meetings, but since there hadn't be anything scheduled it simply was dark and dank. Holding back a shudder I followed my family down, we came to the main doors.

Father stepped forward, and pushed the doors causing them to swing inwards wide. The first thing, and most terrifying thing was the sight of a bloodied faced Ewan, with Trevor standing next to him cold faced with a gun pressed to his skull.

My heart stopped.

Chelsey cried, when the shadows moved behind us and with a suddenness the entire Argint tribe surrounded us, forcing us further inside the chamber. Quickly they grabbed my father, and pistol whipped him, followed by my brother. My sister attempted run, grabbing my arm but I couldn't, wouldn't move Ewan's eyes stared into mine.

He was alive.

I felt my arm roughly grabbed, forcing my gaze to turn away from him. I struggled against my supposed holder, who dragged me over to the dais. Crying out only, when my aggressor slammed his foot into my back forcing me to my knees.

My sister cowered on the floor where she'd been shoved as well, our brother and father were tossed to the bottom of the steps.

"You're late." These words were spoken by my mother, who I watched walk up the steps towards someone hidden in the shadows.

Shock wasn't really the words for how I felt, more dumbstruck.

"M-mom?" Chelsey said next to me, her face slack jawed her head moving from side to side, as if trying to dispel the reality she was currently facing.

Mother, our mom turned her attention to us a simply sardonic brow rose. "Now dear, you can't be all that much shocked?" She chuckled, her eyes narrowed on Chelsey, "You're really the least intelligent in the family."

"You didn't come here to insult them, love." The person in the shadows before walking forward. The pale skin, and dark black eyes were as cold as ever. Argint smiled laying a hand on mom's shoulder. "You came to end the farce, right?"

She smiled, and nodded. "You do always keep me on track dear." She turned her smile towards me, "Today this farce ends."

"What farce?!" I growled, my eyes focused on Ewan, "What are you playing at mom?!"

"Mom?!" She repeated laughter filled the chamber, my hackles rose at the maniacal sound. Before I knew it she was in front of me her hand on my throat and my feet dangled in the air. Her eyes blazed with an insane light, her teeth were bared. Her tone was fool of hate when she spat her hateful words.

"Listen, you dirty welp I would never have given birth to you." She tilted her head, "No dear sister, I would've killed you in the womb, and till this day I've wish nothing more, or less than to do so. I guess this time around I'll get my wish answered."
