Jungkook heard a knock on his door. "Come in!" He called, and then turned and saw Taehyung walk into his room, looking a little nervous.
"Ha! That's what she said." Jungkook snickered to himself, and then looked at Taehyung and gasped. "That's what I said! Get it! Because you came in my-"
"I get it." Taehyung said quickly, giving him a small smile. He sat down on the bed where Jungkook was laying.
"Cherry."
"Silver." Jungkook replied.
"You alright?"
"Yeah.. just feel a little lightheaded and feverish. But I'm sure it'll go away." Jungkook said with a small smile.
"Right.. it'll go away. I'm sure it will. It will, why won't it. It's not like you'll die haha." Taehyung said weakly, and Jungkook frowned and sat up.
"What's wrong?" Jungkook asked, and then leaned forward, kissing Taehyung on the cheek. "Y'know.. I had this awesome dream where I rode you.. it was so hot." Jungkook whispered, and Taehyung pushed him away lightly and then stood up.
"No." Taehyung said, and Jungkook looked at him.
"Oh."
"Kook, listen. We.. we can't do this." Taehyung stammered, and Jungkook frowned.
"Okay just because I got stabbed doesn't mean I can't get fucked. It's not like you're gonna kill me." Jungkook laughed.
Fucking hell.
"I will!" Taehyung let out, and Jungkook frowned. "I will kill you, Jungkook!"
"....What?" Jungkook asked, and Taehyung groaned, covering his face with his hands.
"I'm the.. I'm the-" Taehyung started, and then looked at Jungkook slowly. "I'm the reason you're going to die."
Jungkook paused, looking at Taehyung for a few seconds. Taehyung opened his mouth to speak up again, but Jungkook burst out laughing. Taehyung frowned, and Jungkook continued wheezing, clutching his stomach.
"Wai- wait-" Jungkook let out between his laughs. "Let me get this straight. You have super strength, can do magic, and you're gonna kill me?" Jungkook said, and then began laughing again. "And Jimin can read minds?"
Taehyung sighed, looking away. "Kook.."
"I'm dumb, Tae. I'm not dumb dumb. C'mon, stick to one thing. Tell me what's actually going on." Jungkook said, and Taehyung sighed wildly, and then looked at Jungkook a little annoyed.
"Listen, I can't help all this, okay? We're stuck on this fucking ship and are probably gonna, like, die! And on top of that you come up and you're cute but you're straight and that's a whole problem but turns out you're not straight and-" Taehyung stopped to take a breath, and then continued. "-I'm gonna kill you and you're my soulmate and you're probably pregnant, and, Jimin probably CAN read minds and on top of that! I like you but you're dumb! What the fuck!"
Jungkook paused again. Taehyung looked at him for a few seconds, breathing heavily. Jungkook got up and ran out of the room.
Taehyung groaned and followed him out. "Jungkook.."
Jungkook ran towards the control room, tears in his eyes. Taehyung followed him, and then saw Jungkook burst into the control room. "T-Taehyung thinks I'm dumb!" Jungkook cried out.
"What now?" Yoongi snapped in annoyance, and Taehyung walked into the room, frowning.
"Is that the only thing you heard??" Taehyung asked, and Jungkook nodded timidly.

"Yeah I kinda blanked out." Jungkook said, and Taehyung sighed.
"Okay, well, you won't believe me, so I'll make it easy. Kook..." Taehyung trailed, and then gulped, mind going blank. "Namjoon wants us to break up!"
Namjoon threw his hands up in the air, and Jungkook looked at Namjoon, raising his eyebrow. "..Why?"
"H-he's in love with you." Taehyung blurted out, and Jungkook's eyes widened, and Namjoon just groaned and covered his face with his hands.
"R-really? I thought you liked Jin.." Jungkook stammered, and Namjoon glared at Taehyung.
"Yeah, Tae! I thought I liked Jin!" Namjoon snapped, and Jin gasped.
"Oh my god, you like me?" Jin let out softly, and Taehyung gulped.
"No! No he doesn't. Jin, Namjoon hates you." Taehyung said, and Jin frowned.
"W-what's going on?" Jungkook asked, and Taehyung looked at the others a little nervously, and then heard Yoongi sigh.
"I.. like Taehyung." Yoongi mumbled, and Jungkook looked at him with wide eyes. "That's why you two can't be together. I'm in love with Taehyung-"
"You're what?!" Hoseok gasped, and everyone turned and saw him at the entrance of the control room.
"No no Hobi! I'm not!" Yoongi let out with his eyes wide.
"But you just said you were!" Jungkook snapped, and Taehyung glared at him.
"Yeah, Yoongi. Are you in love with me or not?" Taehyung snapped, and Yoongi sighed. Hoseok walked up to Yoongi in confusion, and Yoongi gulped.
"I.." Jimin said loudly, and everyone looked at him. "..am vegan!"
Everyone paused. "How is that relevant?" Jin asked.
"I don't know I thought we were just saying stuff." Jimin giggled, and Jungkook whined, and then walked over to Taehyung.
"Wait, Tae.. why- why can't we be together?" Jungkook asked in a small voice, and Taehyung gulped and grabbed Jungkook's hand, taking him outside the control room.
"Kook, there's a lot we need to talk about." Taehyung said, and Jungkook scoffed.
"Clearly! What was that! Does Namjoon really like me? Because I'm NOT gonna lie when he first became Captain I was like TOTALLY turned on I mean did you SEE his thighs in those black stretchy pants?? He's so hot, and on top of that when he speaks he's so eloquent and hot as fuck and I just wanna suck the soul out of his-"
"Jungkook! Snap out of it!" Taehyung snapped, and Jungkook blushed. "He doesn't like you. Yoongi doesn't like me. And Jimin isn't vegan."
"He isn't?"
"I saw him drinking a milkshake right now."
"Milkshakes are vegan dummy! It doesn't have meat in it."
"Vegan means cutting out everything animal related Jungkook!!"
"It's not like milk comes from cows!"
"Yes the fuck it does!!!!" Taehyung snapped, and then took a deep breath, calming himself down.
"Okay, listen. I need to ask you an important question. Not related to anything that's going on right now.. but what's your opinion on.. soulmates?"
"Scary." Jungkook said with a snicker. "I mean, it's so stupid- the whole idea of it! Two people meant for each other, their souls intertwined or what not? I mean, doesn't that just sound like bullshit?"

Taehyung gulped, and Jungkook continued.
"Plus, I'm like really scared of commitment, so I'd hate to get tied down to one person like that! I mean, the two of us aren't dating, y'know? We're just.. together. I prefer that. I hate labels." Jungkook said, and Taehyung paused.
He let out a laugh. "Same! Soulmate stuff is such bullshit! Haha! B-but like.. what would you do if, hypothetically, someone told you they're your soulmate?" Taehyung asked tentatively.
"Run away, I guess." Jungkook giggled.
"Same." Taehyung laughed awkwardly, and then looked away, face paling.
Jungkook frowned. He looked at Taehyung in confusion for a few seconds, and then let out a gasp. "No.. no way!"
Taehyung looked up at Jungkook, whose eyes were wide. "No, Tae, don't tell me you're asking me this because..." He trailed, and Taehyung looked at him nervously.
"I'm sorry, Kook. But I'm your-"
"Namjoon's my soulmate!" Jungkook let out, and then covered his face with his hands. Taehyung rose his eyebrows.
"What? N-"
"I don't want Namjoon to be my soulmate, Taehyung! Even though.. he'd probably be so sweet and- and.. caring... and gentle.. with his tall frame and- and soft words... and he's so wise a-and would read poetry to me at dawn... and fuck me upside down-"
"Dude, do you have a crush on Namjoon?" Taehyung asked, and Jungkook looked at him.
"No. I just want his dick in my mouth- there's a difference." Jungkook snapped, and Taehyung rolled his eyes.
"Okay, anyways, why can't we be together?" Jungkook asked, returning to the topic which started this whole mess.
"Because.." Taehyung trailed, and then looked up at Jungkook slowly, letting his mind wander with thoughts.
If he finds out you're his soulmate he'll run away, like he said. You've barely known each other for 3 weeks. Plus, if he finds out you're gonna kill him, he'll get scared or angry or worse, deadly. No one wants that. I don't want that.
"We have to break up." Taehyung said flatly, and Jungkook frowned. "I just.. don't think we're right for each other."
Jungkook paused for a few seconds, and then looked down. "Oh.. I-I thought it was an external issue. Not you having a problem with me." Jungkook mumbled.
Taehyung felt his mouth go dry. "I do. Sorry." Taehyung said, and Jungkook took a deep breath.
"W-why.. exactly do you think w-we're not right for each other? Is-is it because I'm not soft and pretty-"
Ugh, Taehyung thought, hands getting balled into fists. You ARE soft and pretty.
"Yeah." Taehyung said, and Jungkook gulped. "I'm just.. into boys that are kind and pretty and small. And I feel like you like guys who are pretty and small too. We just aren't fit for each other. We're both too- too dominating.. too caretaking. Too-"
"Just say we're both tops and go." Jungkook grumbled, and Taehyung looked at him with a sigh.
"Don't get mad at me, Kooks. It's nothing against you, I swear. I just- I-I don't want a relationship right now." Taehyung said, knowing how angry Jungkook got last time.
"I won't." Jungkook let out, sounding like there was a lump in his throat. "I-It's whatever. I didn't like you that much either, s-so it's fine." Jungkook said in a small voice, playing with his fingers.
Taehyung looked at Jungkook for a little.
"You alright?"
"Yeah." Jungkook squeaked, and Taehyung saw his eyes gleam with tears. "I-I just.." Jungkook trailed, and Taehyung gulped, gripping his fists tightly.
"-n-nevermind. It's fine. S-sorry." Jungkook let out weakly and then turned around and rushed off.
Taehyung sighed to himself and then saw the door of the control room open, and Jimin walk out, looking stressed.
"Do you think Batman was gay? Because we're having a debate, and-"
"Jimin." Taehyung let out weakly, Jimin looked at him with confusion. "Um- Me and Kook- we ended stuff. Sorry for getting you into it."
"Oh no.. Tae, are you alright?" Jimin asked, walking up to him. Taehyung nodded, and Jimin wrapped his arms around his neck. Taehyung put his hands on Jimin's waist.
"Yeah. I'm good." Taehyung whispered, and Jimin hugged him tight, and then pulled away.
"I'm sorry. But it's for both of your benefit, remember that, okay?" Jimin said softly, and Taehyung nodded, looking down at the smaller boy.
Jungkook, meanwhile, had tears in his eyes, and felt a feeling in his gut. Taehyung had to have been lying. There's no way, it just- it felt so real. And Jungkook felt these sparks arise everytime Taehyung did anything.
There's no way all that was fake. There's no way-
Jungkook rushed back to talk to him one more time, and then halted in his steps, seeing Jimin and Taehyung hugging.
"I'm here for you, don't worry." Jungkook heard Jimin say. "And plus, I think it's better if he doesn't find out."
Jungkook frowned, and saw Taehyung chuckle. "Yeah," Taehyung said. "He'd get mad at me."
"He'd get mad at me too. We did lie to him." Jimin whispered, and Jungkook saw Taehyung let out a small smile.
Jungkook watched with big eyes as Jimin leaned forward and kissed Taehyung's cheek, and instantly turned around and rushed off.
"Thanks a lot, Jimin. You're a great friend." Taehyung said, and Jimin left the hug, and gave him a big smile.
"Don't worry about it. We're like family now." Jimin said, and Taehyung smiled a little.
They walked back into the control room, where the others were discussing how Batman was, perhaps, bisexual.
Taehyung went and sat down beside the control panel, looking at the vast space before him, all the twinkling stars and big planets, tiny moons and meteors. All of it. It was serene.
Suddenly, Taehyung felt some kind of a pain in his chest. He frowned, and rubbed his chest a little, wondering if it was some kind of cramp.
Taehyung continued looking outside, but then felt another pain in his chest, between his ribcage, and let out a grunt of pain, coiling over. All the boys looked at him in confusion.
"Tae, you okay?" Jin asked, and Taehyung nodded hesitantly. "Y-yeah- I'm fine just- g-getting this weird pain in my chest."
"I'll get some spray. Probably just a cramp." Jin said and rushed into the medical room, and Taehyung nodded, sitting down properly and ignoring the pain in his chest.
Meanwhile, in his room, Jungkook was sitting on his bed, crying his eyes out, feeling the same pain in his chest.

8 263Fire and Blood
There are a lot of stories about people reborn into a fantasy world but most such individuals seem to be young, inexperienced and forced to start from the bottom up. But who attempts to summon a nobody, expending vast magical power to do so? What if there is an effort to summon a champion of the celestial host and strip them of their free will, binding them by their True Names only to be foiled as they vacate themselves to follow possession by another? What if the one summoned from something approximating our own world is a veteran in her thirties who now finds herself in a form alien, powerful, but far from invulnerable? It involves a whole lot of fire.
8 141Humanity Extinguished
I had the same nightmare again. The loss of my first life continues to haunt me, but now it aches like an old wound. A more grievous injury to my psyche was the losses yet to come and the inevitable hellscape I would return to again and again. Reincarnation is my curse. The lives themselves weren't all that bad. Losing people you cared about hurt and all, but even that pain was preferable to experiencing the nothingness between lives for months at a time. It was enough to drive anyone mad. Now I have to focus on breaking this horrible cycle. Thankfully I have all the time in the world. Trace is an average man driven by extraordinary circumstances in an indifferent and cruel world. His reincarnations give him a few key advantages but also take a heavy toll on him. He lives in a world where magic is uncommon and underpowered compared to the limitless physical adaptations you can acquire by getting your hands a little bloody. This story is one of hardship and terrible lows, but also monumental achievements and grand heights. The main character has flaws. While some of these flaws will fade with time, others will worsen. Thank you for taking the time to read my synopsis. I plan to release 2-3 chapters a week.
