Bombs Away
- - - - -
Tony flew towards the street where Ana and Steve were fighting on the bridge. She used her strength, her daggers all gone, and jumped up on a car, kicking out her feet and nailing a Chitauri soldier in the chest, sending it flying. She landed on her back and rolled down the roof, landing on her feet.
Iron Man pointed his hand boosters at Steve's shield. The energy came off and Cap uses it as a reflection beam and took down nearby Chitauri. After patting Ana on the back, Tony flew back up the building and continued to blast more Chitauri.
Clint's voice buzzed through Ana's ear piece, "Captain, Ana, the bank on 42nd past Madison, they caught a lot of civilians there." He said.
Steve gave Ana a nod, telling her he'll take care of it as she should continue knocking the rest of the aliens down.
"I'm on it," Steve said.
"Are you sure, Cap?" Ana asked.
"I need you and Barton to secure the area." Steve ordered. Ana wanted to help out, but she was given an order. She had to obey. With a reluctant nod, Ana watched Steve make his way downtown. She kicked up a scrap of metal, punching it towards an alien trying to sneak up on her. She puffed away the hair in her eyes as it fell back, dead.
Ana looked up at Clint as he continued to fire at the aliens that were flying in the skies. She didn't sense the blast coming from behind her until it was too late, shoving her to the ground. She cried out, her back stinging with every move she made to get up.
"Ana!" Clint called out. He glared at the aliens approaching her and reached back for his second last arrow, knocking it on his bow and pulling back, he let go the second he aimed it right. Ana heard the shrieks behind her and her glossy eyes looked up at Clint on the building.
"T- Thanks, Clint." She rasped out, wincing as she stepped up, stumbling onto a car.
"I'm coming down, don't move." He ordered.
Ana huffed and straightened up, "It's not like I can go anywhere." She remarked, practically picturing Clint rolling his eyes.
As if things couldn't get any worse, Fury connected to their line bringing the news, "Stark, you hearing me? We have a missile headed straight for the city." He said. Ana's heart stopped, she looked up expecting to see the metal box in the air.

"How long?" Tony asked.
"Three minutes, at best. Stay low and wipe out the missile." Nick ordered.
Ana grabbed her last pistol, checking the mag and groaning. Just ten bullets left. She sighed, loading it into the pistol and walking, well more like hobbling, towards the alien calls. "Ten rounds, let's make it count." She said to herself.
She hopped onto the bridge edge, one knee propped up for her arm to steady her aim. She counted the Chitauri soldiers, eleven in her sight. She waited until one went in front of the other before pressing the trigger. She grinned, "Nine."
The other Chitauri all snapped their heads in her direction, howling at her menacingly. She tried to stay calm as the dashed for her. She quickly shot her eight bullets, hitting them square in the head. With her last one she waited until the lone alien was close enough, not risking misfire.
Once it was in position she breathed out. "Last one... smile." She said before pulling the trigger. The last alien fell back on the ground just as Clint approached her. She dropped her gun and wrapped one arm around her middle as the other reached out for his open hands. He guided her to sit down on a piece of broken building.
Clint looked at her wound and frowned, pulling back her burnt uniform over her shoulder. She clamped her jaw shut, keeping any cries form escaping at the pain. "You got hit really bad, I can tell you that." He told her.
Ana looked up at him and wiped her gloved hand over her forehead, "Anything else Dr. Barton?" She asked.
He gave her a dry look and wrapped her arm around his neck, telling her to lean on him. "But it doesn't look too serious, I'm sure you'll heal completely, a week tops." He said, walking her to where he saw Steve and Thor.
Ana nodded, "For now let's worry on the missile, any idea where that reaper is?" She asked over the ear comm.
"I can close it! Can anybody hear me? I can shut the portal down!" Natasha yelled through the ear comm in triumph.
Ana and Clint shared a smile, "Great, close the damn thing and let's all go home." She said.
"No, wait!" Tony exclaimed.
"Stark, these things are still coming!" Steve protested. Clint and Ana joined the Captain, all looking up at the portal.
"I got a nuke coming in, it's gonna blow in less than a minute. And I know just where to put it." He said. Ana smirked, "You really are a genius, Stark." She mumbled, Clint snorting beside her.

"Stark, you know that's a one-way trip?" Steve said sombrely. Ana caught his eyes and gave him a serious gaze, "It doesn't have to be, he'll make it." She said. Steve sighed and looked back up.
Ana watched as the red and gold armour climbed higher and higher, "You got this, Stark." She whispered.
Iron Man was gaining speed, suddenly flinging himself through the portal. Communications die. The suit begins to freeze. Tony looks in horror. An armada. The black sky is filled with what must be ninety ships in a vague cluster. Most of them hang still in the air. Some move swimmingly about. Iron Man lets go of the missile, it whistles off into the blackness as Tony idly falls back down the portal's opening. The missile reaches the main ship and implodes, causing the entire armada to burst.
Back on the ground, Ana grew worried at the blazing explosion, looking at it as it came closer to their side of the portal. Steve lifted his hand to tap on his ear comm, "Close it." He weakly ordered Natasha.
The portal whizzed with a pulse, the circle closing fast. Ana breathed out a laugh, seeing the red and gold suit exit just in time. But her smile falls as he keeps falling and falling and falling, not stopping.
"He's not slowing down." Thor swings Mjölnir around. Just before Thor flies up, the Hulk snags Iron Man out of the air, both crashing and sliding down a building. Hulk lands on his back, the concrete crumbling at his weight and speed. Hulk throws Tony off him as Thor, Cap, Clint and Ana run over to him. Ana pried off Tony's helmet, the colour in her bloodied face draining at the sight. Tony looked dead.
"Oh, no..." Ana mumbled, her lips falling as her eyes closed in sorrow. They stand around then... the Hulk stomped his foot and yelled in fury. The noise started Tony out of his unconsciousness and he gasped heavily, making Ana look at him with relief.
"What the hell? What just happened? Please tell me Ana was the one who kissed me." He said, making the girl chuckle at him.
"No it was Bruce." She said pointing at the green beast. The Hulk huffed in her direction and rolled his eyes as she smiled up at him.
"We won." Steve spoke up.
"Alright. Hey. Alright. Good job, guys." Tony cheered, "Let's just not come in tomorrow. Let's just take a day. Have you ever tried shawarma?" Tony pointed at Ana who just shook her head, "There's a shawarma joint about two blocks from here. I don't know what it is, but I wanna try it." He wheezed out.
The gang smiled at his rambling and Thor sighed, "We're not finished yet." He said.
Ana grabbed a hold of Tony's iron glove and helped him sit up. "And then shawarma after." Tony nodded.
"You got it, tin man."

Weeks and a fresh and healed Ana later, everyone met at the Central Park for Loki's send off. Thor was to take him back to Asgard, said something about a magical prison that even the God of Mischief can't escape.
Thor shakes hands with his team and gives Ana a hug, smiling down at the girl wonder. Tony opened the Tesseract's case and Banner took it out gently and placed it inside a glass tube, held by Thor. Thor gave Loki the other end, who reluctantly took it.
The Asgardians leap into the energy beam. Gone. Then, one-by-one, the group heroes walk off, strolling into different directions. Banner climbed in with Tony in his sports car. Steve rode away on his Harley. Ana said her goodbyes to her partners, Natasha and Clint climbing back into SHIELD cars.
Ana looked up at the sun, putting on her aviators. She tucked her hands on her jean pockets and walked off. She wanted to go home. She needed a vacation. But Fury needed her still. So, Ana had the small week to do whatever she wanted to. And all she wanted to do was visit her close friends. May, Ben and Peter Parker.
Ana waved her hand, calling a cab and hopped in giving her address to the driver, who gave her his name politely, Dopinder. She made a small conversation, asking him about the woman in the photo on his dash. She listened to his problems with a chuckle, finding her new favourite cab driver.

Supreme Formation Immortal Sovereign
Falling under the Heavenly Tribulation, Ascending Celestial Oalur Kang finds that he's back in the past. Watch him pursue the Heavenly Path of Formations and rise to the peak of the Immortal Path! . . . . . . . . . Hello, this is F-Rank! This is my take on writing cultivation stories. Though I'm sure nobody cares, the intent behind this story was focused on creating a more or less logical cultivation system. I read several stories where the mc transmigrated to a cultivation world (not calling names to avoid unnecessary angst) and was able to completely break the cultivation system and the logic of the world because they had the power of science on their side and were able to think more logically than everybody else. Despite the fact that some characters in those stories were older than the scientific method of thinking and even the human civilization as we know it and the whole society was older than our human race. So I decided to write a story where things about cultivation make sense (as far as a magical world full of super magical people can make sense), so here we are. I don't know if I will be able to fulfil this purpose but I hope that the story will end up enjoyable. Can also be considered a prequel for my other story "Wasn’t my new life in a magical world supposed to be easy?" but has very little overlapping content and can be read as a stand alone story. Also available on Scribble Hub.
