《The Journey Home》30 - Temptations

So why the fuck are we a mystery?
The following days went by with such speed that I barely even felt them. I was able to register for school and would be starting in only two weeks. My motivation remained the same. I wanted to make Angie proud. Despite she not being there physically, she was still present in my heart and mind.
I interacted with Lucas much more than I did with Alex. I had decided it was better to keep our communication limited. It was already difficult talking to him and not thinking inappropriate thoughts, or remembering how good we used to be together. Every now and then I'd notice how he would look at me, the same fire as before was there. I didn't think it would ever leave.
The door to my bedroom opened without warning. I'd grown used to Luke's intrusions. He would arrive unannounced and barge inside without warning. My dad didn't even bother arguing or stopping him anymore. There was a silent peace contract between them now, and though they didn't talk, they also didn't argue anymore. Most of the time.
"What are you doing?" He asked, laying down on the bed with me.
"I was trying to sleep," I replied, trying my best to sound annoyed.
"Let's go to the club," he said. I turned to face him, the surprise written all over my face.
"Are you crazy? Why would I go?"
"Why wouldn't you? You're twenty-two, never been to a club. You deserve to have some fun. I'll go with you, I think Alex is going and I'm pretty sure Addie is coming into town. Let's go. Have some fun, Leenie, live a little."
"Is Julia going?"
"No. I wouldn't put you in that uncomfortable situation, Eileen."
"It will still be uncomfortable with Alex there, Luke."
"I'll be there."
I agreed to go, regardless of how awkward I thought it would be. It was true, I never did have fun, or party. I never had the chance. Of course, in no way did I regret my daughter. But Luke was right, I needed to live. The thought of enjoying the night out with friends excited me.
As it turned out, since I never did party, I didn't have anything to wear. Nicole was eager to take me shopping and insisted that my dad stay behind because he likely wouldn't like what we chose, whatever that meant. I had no idea what to wear. Nicole, on the other hand, had too many ideas of what I could wear.
"Look, what about this one?" She held up a two piece black dress. It covered one shoulder, and a small part of my waist would be showing.
"I don't know, Nicole. I've never worn anything like that."
"There's always a first time for everything, Eileen." She took my hand and dragged me to the dressing room. "Come one, it's simple, it's classy yet sexy. It'll be perfect. You'll look beautiful."
Needless to say, that's exactly what I ended up taking home.
"There you go," Nicole said, proud of her work.
She had done my hair, letting it fall in waves over my shoulders. After applying much more make up than I would ever wear, she said that I looked beautiful. A smokey purple eye brought out the color in them, and surprisingly, I felt pretty. The dress hugged my curves to perfection and though I had no experience with heels, the ones Nicole had chosen for me were comfortable.

"Ah... Fuck Eileen. Really? That's what you're wearing?"
Once again, Luke had barged in and was staring in anger at me.
"What? Is there something wrong with this?" I asked him, disappointed that we had chosen the wrong outfit.
"No. That's the fucking problem. Now I'm going to have to chase away all the pervs that are going to be drooling after you." He groaned, running his hands over his face. "No getting laid for me tonight."
"So, this is okay?" I asked him, and his eyes softened.
"Yes. You look perfect. Now get your ass in the car before I change my mind."
We walked downstairs, where my dad let out a heavy breath when he saw me. I heard him curse, his lips pressed together in firm line. He did not look happy.
"Ray," Nicole warned from behind me.
"You take care of her," he told Lucas who only rolled his eyes.
"Yeah, old man. Go get me that cane of yours so I can beat the shit of all men that will be chasing after her."
"Lucas!"
Luke smiled and guided me to his car. I didn't know whether I was more nervous about going out to a club, or about seeing Alex. Or rather Alex seeing me dressed like this. I was also anxious to see Addie. I never interacted much with her but something about her made me nervous. She was so confident that it was intimidating.
The ride to the club was quiet. I had the impression that there was a lot on Luke's mind. He was never this silent. I wished that he would trust me enough to tell me. When we arrived, he helped me out, placing his arm over my shoulders.
"You tell me if anyone makes you uncomfortable, okay?"
I nodded.
The place was crowded. There was people dancing, others at their tables sitting with their friends. I had never been inside a club, and I felt completely out of place. Lucas sensed this and walked me over to the bar where he ordered a drink for me.
"I don't drink, Luke."
"Just take a sip. If you don't like it, you don't have to drink it."
I hesitated, but took a sip. I nearly spit it out, the taste was too bitter.
"Uh, okay. I'll take that as a no."
"Yeah, that's disgusting."
Luke chuckled but finished the drink he had ordered for me in one gulp. He didn't let go of me and he looked like he was about to fight off the people looking our way.
"You should have dressed as a nun," he muttered.
"Weren't you trying to get me out?"
"Yeah, but I didn't think you'd come out dressed like this. I won't be the only one watching out for you, believe me."
"What do you mean?"
He nodded towards the other side of the club. "Alex is here."
There was so much tension surrounding us. Luke looked like he wanted to murder Addie, who was by far, the boldest woman I knew.
"Where's Jules?" Addie asked after a long time of awkward silence.
Alex lifted his gaze- which had been fixated on my legs- and met his sister's who only raised an eyebrow.
"Not sure. She said she wouldn't be able to come."

Addie eyed me once again and I felt Luke tense next to me.
"Hmm. It's a shame. I haven't seen her in a while."
"Well, she's not missed here," commented Luke.
Addie glared at Lucas. I saw her hand tighten around the glass she held but then she forced a smile. Not a sweet one at all.
"Let's go get a drink, Luke," she said before walking away.
I heard Luke curse, but he gave me a small smile and followed behind Addie, leaving Alex and I alone. He took a sip out of his drink, closing his eyes as he savored the liquid. He looked relaxed.
"You look beautiful, Eileen." He trailed my body as he spoke until he finally settled on my face. He smirked when he saw me nearly panting.
"Have you danced yet?" He asked me while standing up, his large frame towering over me.
I shook my head, my throat closing up when he extended his hand. I stared at it for the longest time to which he only chuckled.
"Let's go, I don't bite."
My mouth fell open, but I stood none the less. It was as if the universe was conspiring against me, or in my favor, I wasn't too sure. A slow, sexually charged song came on. If he was fazed, Moretti didn't show it.
He stood behind me, his arm around my waist, casually, as if he'd been doing it for a long time. As if he didn't have a girlfriend.
"I-I don't really dance," I said in a quiet voice.
He hummed, standing so close behind me that it made me gasp.
"Just move to the music," he murmured. He placed his hands on my hips, guiding them. I closed my eyes, just letting him me teach me.
Soon we were dancing, our bodies moving against each other in a way that left me breathless. He was quiet behind me, but our bodies were so close. It was electrifying.
His hands were on my waist, he was impossibly close to me. My hips swayed to the rhythm, something I'd never had the liberty to do.
"I've never seen you dance," he murmured, his lips tickling my ear.
This was borderline inappropriate.
He has a girlfriend, I kept reminding myself.
"I never really have," I whispered back.
Our bodies touched, a slow grinding motion, hip to hip. I gasped, feeling his erection against me.
"Alex..."
He shushed me, placing a kiss behind my ear.
"It's just us right now, Eileen," he murmured, "Just feel."
My eyes closed, and I let the music guide us.
My head fall back against his shoulder. I felt his eyes on me, but I didn't open my own. There was something so... erotic about being so close to him. Our bodies were still in perfect synchrony after a year.
I felt his lips place a soft kiss on my neck causing shivers to run down my spine and a deep need settle somewhere else.
"You're a tease," he said, sounding like he was trying to restrain himself.
"I've learned from you."
He groaned, deep in his throat making me bite my lip to prevent a moan of my own.
"You're always so responsive to me," he said, placing a hand on the exposed skin on my waist. "Even with all our clothes on, your body reacts, knowing good and well what I want to do to you."
I thought I was going to faint. I licked my suddenly dry lips, his eyes following the movement. He was hungry, and I was his perfect meal.
Alex turned me around, so that we were face to face. Despite the music now being fast tempo, there was no separating our bodies that were pressed close to each other. His hands were now dangerously close to the curve of my ass, his hooded eyelids proof of what he was thinking.
"Ti voglio, Eileen," he murmured, thrusting his hips gently against me. This time I whimpered, unable to hide the need that I had for him.
(I want you, Eileen)
His hand went up to the back of my head as he leaned down.
"Tell me you want me, too."
I was hypnotized by the intensity he was showing me. It was as if he was just barely hanging on to the thin thread of control he had left. No one else existed, it was just him and I being rapidly sucked in by a black hole.
"You might want to, you know, separate a bit," Addie's voice came from behind me. "Julia just got here."
I considered what we had just been doing. I had been so close to him, forgetting that he had a girlfriend. He didn't force me, I willingly had been about to give myself to him completely without thinking. Addie's accusing glare settled on me.
Luke walked over to us with Julia on his side, an irritated look on his face. She appeared to be telling him something which by his expression didn't interest him in the least.
"Hi, babe!" Julia greeted Alex pressing a kiss on his lips. "Eileen, it's so good to see you. How are you? Addie, dear, I've missed you"
Julia hugged me as if we were lifelong friends. Moretti's jaw was clenched.
Luke sighed, taking my arm in his hand when Julia pulled away from me. He knew exactly what I wanted.
"We're going to leave," he stated, giving Alex a pointed look.
"Why?" Moretti questioned.
"I just got here, do you really have to leave?" Julia directed her question towards me. "You look so beautiful, we need to show you off."
I forced a smile at the woman in front of me. She seemed so genuinely sweet. And to think that just minutes ago I had been body to body with her boyfriend.
"Yeah, I'm tired. It was fun though, I'll see you another time?"
"Of course! Let me know when you're available."
Not a chance.
"Sure."
She pulled me into a hug and once again, guilt made its presence known. I said goodbye to Addie, who grimaced when I spoke to her and then mumbled a goodbye to Alex, who instead pulled me in for a hug, whispering in a my ear.
"We'll talk about this tomorrow, over breakfast. Good night, Eileen."

"I don't want to go with you" I whispered... Big mistake. I screamed as he slammed me down to the ground hard and held my neck, he straddled my hips hovering over me and growled in my ear making me whimper. "You are mine do you understand? Mine. And I will have you to myself which means you are going to join me and my pack" he said and I shook my head "j-just reject me and none of this has to happen" I whispered and he growled sliding his other hand down my stomach. "Don't test me mate" he said and I gasped as he grabbed me "you belong to me now so like I said before. Go home and pack your bags" he said and I just shook my head "I don't want to leave my pack-" "To-fucking-bad" he said "I let you go twice. I'm not letting you go again" he growled and I looked up at him nervously shaking my head. "Do as I say or I'll kill your pack. One. By. One" he said putting his lips to my ear "no" I whimpered and he looked at me. "I-I'll do it" I whispered and he nodded letting me go.
