《》The Ultimate Party

The overwhelming feeling of nervousness was pulsing through my body. The thought of how this entire night could go down appeared in multiple scenarios in my mind. My wife and I haven't been on the best terms and I knew we had to feign being chummy towards one another for sake of appearances. But that's not what worried me. I was more concerned about the attraction I felt towards another woman while my wife was in my presence.
Guilt.
Like a blood thirsty leech feeding off of your sinful thoughts just to drive you crazy with fear of being found out. Of course, how could anyone find out if I kept my composure? They wouldn't so that's what I needed to do, remain fucking calm.
"Logan!" I close my eyes deeply at the sound of Sarah's voice. Here goes nothing.
"Sarah." I give her chaste kiss on the lips in which she moans in surprise. Her arms wrap around ny neck and she deepens the kiss. Bliss filled my body, maybe this is what we needed. To fake it 'till we make it. It was as if someone threw a bucket of our shared memories with each other on to me and I felt every once of her love.
As we broke apart, her eyes opened slowly before she looked up at me. "I love you, Logan. I hope you haven't forgotten that, no matter how much we argue. I miss you," her voice, no higher than a whisper. Her pale blue eyes were tearing up with sincerity as she stared into mine.
"I know that, I'm sorry I've been difficult with you. I love you, too." I kiss her on her cheek and pull her to the table where everyone was seated from work. I pull out her chair and push it in to the table once she sits. I sit next to her, and there's one seat empty. The next to me.

There's one person missing.
"Ah! Yasmin, finally, I want you to meet my son's wife." My father, with his perfect ability to read a situation, practically jumps at the opportunity to introduce the two women.
I, however, would rather dive into a volcano.
Yasmin smiles kindly at my father and walks up to us. We both stand, "Sorry, I haven't heard much about you. Logan doesn't talk about work." Sarah gives Yasmin the same fake smile she gives everyone and shakes hands with her.
"Well, Logan is obviously pretty damn lucky to have you keeping him on his toes, huh?" Yasmin smiles back at Sarah, except her smiles didn't seem fake. Sarah giggles, yes giggles, at her comment and waves her hand dismissively.
"So, who are you exactly?" I'm not sure if she meant to be slightly rude with that question, but I think I started sweating just a little more.
"I'm your husband's working partner, I guess you could say. We work together for a common goal...?" She looks to me as if to ask if that was a good overview, but I was a bit busy chugging down my water. I quickly nod without looking at her, "Yep. Basically."
"Oh, how nice of you. I know Lohan has struggled with the work load a bit."
A bit?
"One could imagine why, no offense Logan, but your office was a mess of papers and files." Yasmine laughs a little at the end with a smile, I chuckle slightly. It was a damn mess, wasn't it.
"Can't lie there—" Sarah intercepts with an eyebrow raised.
"So, how old are you, Jasmine."
Yasmin's brow raised slightly, though a small smile still rested on her face. "You know what my name is. It's not that confusing, try again."

I gulped and grabbed my wine, if I'm going to die tonight, I'd rather die happy-drunk off my ass.
Sarah falters for a second, not being used to anyone talking to her like that. She loves to use money as her power source to scare people. Yasmin is the one person that she can't bully since she's got just as much money as we do. Maybe more... Yikes.
"Run it by me again?"
"No you got it, you're a big girl. Think real hard." Yasmin stares her in the eyes, without blinking. Is anybody else having chest pain? I look around to see absolutely no one paying attention the these two but me, everyone else is laughing and joking. Must be fucking nice.
"Yasmin?" Sarah says her name timidly, and she is everything but timid. My eyes look over Sarah as she avoids Yasmin's eyes.
"There you go, let's not forget it next time...?" She asked but I could clearly tell that this is something she's used to. Surprising people with her very own power, rather than using money. I had a feeling she could silence a crowd of a thousand with a single word.
Sarah nods once before turning to me and starting a random conversation about Victoria Secrets new clothing launch or something.
But all I'm concerned about is how dangerous this entire situation is. The two women are drastically different in nearly every way. Especially in size, Yasmin is a little less than a foot taller than Sarah and while Sarah is slim, Yasmin is curvy and toned. I'm afraid I can guess who'd win in a fight.
And poor Sarah wouldn't stand a chance. Inserts crying emoji.
