《Possession》Chapter Eight

Lunar's POV

Blushing intensely, I knocked on Mathis' door, seeing her after what happened the other night was embarrassing. Her cheeks were just as red as mine as she stepped out. We were thinking the same shit as the "twins" we were, probably why we had the best friendship.

"H-Hey," We both grinned awkwardly, laughing, and looking at our shoes as we started stepping further from her house. From a distance, Mr. Hayes and Mr. Lincoln watched from their Cadillac. It had come apparent that they had been the watching feeling. Kind of weird but...nice..in an awkward kind of way. Mathis and I spoke in unison once again, ending with us giggling for the second time, "I-I would like to apologize for last night."

I sighed, rubbing the back of my head as I swallowed down what little dignity I had, "Alright, listen. I'm sorry about last night. I-I tried to get you to hang up, I really didn't want you to hear...o-or see any of that. I-I really hope that this doesn't change anything but if it did, I do respect that."

I wasn't about to admit being watched while fucked was interesting, this shit was awkward enough.

"It really is my fault, Looney Toons. I knew I was calling at a bad time, but I refused to listen to my gut. I should've asked you if it was alright to watch," She lightly punched my shoulder a few times, looking at me with a playful roll of her eyes. She kicked a rock, both of us watching as it skipped away from us, "I guess I was just curious, ya know...? Like, what it's like to... ya know."

My eyes darted towards her, watching as she did a tight circle with one hand, using a finger from her other hand to ram into the circle before making a raindrop sound and then an explosion. The sight and realization of what she was doing made me die inside.

"Oh, my fucking Elysium," I cackled, hunching over as I covered my face, "What the fuck, Mat. You could've just said it not do that! What the fuck is wrong with you?"

She giggled at me lightly hitting my head on a pole, shrugging nonchalantly, "What? I just wanted to see if I could still make you blush. I got to make sure they don't steal all my fun, ya know? I'm #1 and I plan to stay that way!"

"I promise you; I am officially scarred for life. Thank you, Good Laddy," I shook my head at her as I pretended to tilt an imaginary hat to her, she curtsied in return, giggling as I teased with a roll of my eyes, "Goddamn do I love you."

"Sorry, but the feeling isn't mutual," She razzed, pretending to twirl her hair as she skipped away. She had a hum to her tone that had me chasing.

"Excuse me?!" I pouted, catching up with her, "Who is this foe that has stolen thy heart from me? I challenge thee to a duel!"

She rolled her eyes once again with a cock of her eyebrow as she tsked, "Okay, Romeo."

"If I'm Romeo, does that make you Juliet?"

She scoffed, holding up an imaginary sword and preparing to spar and duel, "Bitch, I'm Mercutio!"

"He dies, though!" I chortled as we headed to my place, shaking my head as she chased after me.

"So does Romeo and Juliet, Dumbass!" She had me there. I've been slain, damn.

"After you," I bowed as I opened the door for her, smiling contently, "Milady --"

"Hello, You Two," Color drained from my face, my body froze, and my smile was destroyed at the voice that spoke to us. My pupils were too tense to look over, I didn't need to anyway.

"Look, Lunar! Mathis' brother came to visit! Isn't that wonderful? Now, you all can catch up," My mother's joyful tone was the only thing keeping my shit together.

My throat felt like I had swallowed nails, my eyes watching as Anthien stepped over to us, his arms wrapping around me as he grinned into my neck, "How I've missed my plaything. Aren't you happy to see me? I sure am happy to see you."

The skin on my body felt like millions of ants were tearing at it in the parts he contacted. I wanted to scream for Mr. Hayes and Mr. Lincoln, but I couldn't. They couldn't give away that they were following us and watching, my parents would raise many questions. Mathis had daggers in her eyes at her brother, watching the colors drain further and further from my face but remaining calm for the sake of our sanity.

You can do this, Lunar. I-It's just for a little while. Humor yourself, you're fine.

It took everything in me to push past him, grabbing my board before running out with a light kiss on the cheek to my mother. He chuckled with amusement as he followed Mathis and me, my voice croaking weakly, "Pl-Please, tell me we can lose him down the hill. Pl-Please, lie to me if you must."

"I-I'm sorry, Lune," She whispered with sympathy as we kicked hard away from the house, not daring to lie because she knew I didn't actually want a lie. Hearing him following on his board made my stomach churn as we kept rolling.

Jumping onto a railing, I slid down it, hearing them both follow me. Hearing him made me trip and stumble, falling to the ground and my temper go off as my fist punched the concrete, "FUCK!"

"Someone's losing their touch, huh? I thought I taught you to skate better than that," He mocked, my jaw tightening as I stood up, brushing myself off. I was fractions away from snapping, I hated him around.

"Swallow a fucking bullet," I spat, clenching my jaw so tight my teeth ached.

"Excuse me?" He cocked an eyebrow, a grin daring on his lips as he tilted his head at me, "What was that?"

"Lunar, breathe," Mathis whispered in a plea, tugging my arm hard and looking at the Cadillac, "Please, calm down. Don't start a scene, don't give him what he wants."

"Listen to her," He grinned at me, stepping over and getting into my space, "or do I need to bend you over all over again and teach you some fucking manners? You were always quite forgetful."

"I'm not the one who bent over for Daddy, remember?" Stomping down on my board, I caught it as it flew into the air, my anger fueled. His grin dropped as I backed up with a quick cock of my chin, "Am I quite forgetful, now? I'm sure Daddy misses his little Anny."

With that, I put my fist on my elbow, yanking my arm up at him before spinning around and walking away. I wasn't going to humor him with his bullshit. He wanted to hold things against me? Two can play that game. I'm not a fool about his relationship with his deadbeat father.

I could hear him swing his board at the back of my head, causing me to duck down. Swinging mine, I connected the metal axel to the side of his skull, knocking him off his feet as I pressed the rim against his throat, "Someone's losing their touch, huh? I thought I taught you to dodge better than that."

He choked from the pressure, holding his head as he bled, a snarl leaving his throat. His irises were flaming but he whimpered at the increased pressure I gave in return.

"I'm not your plaything. If you ever touch me again, I'll hit you in a far worse spot than your fucking head. Come near Mathis again and I'll rip your fucking throat out with your pretty little pocketknife" I spat with acid in my voice, pulling from him before stomping hard on his board until it snapped, walking off and leaving him where he lay. Once we were far enough away where he couldn't see us, I leaned against my knees, my body trembling and aching with adrenaline and stress, "D-Did that just happen?"

"U-Uh, y-yeah," Mathis articulated in surprise, making me quickly stand up with both my hands to my head as I tugged my hair. A laugh slipped through the cracks of silence as I stared at the sky.

"Wh-What the hell did I just do?" I breathed out, wide-eyed and in disbelief, "Ma is going to murder me-- Your dad is going to murder me! Holy shit!"

I leaned against the brick wall, feeling weak as Mathis hugged me tight and tried to soothe the anxiety we both had, "You looked badass, though! I don't think he'll say anything! He looked pretty freaked out."

"I hope so," I combed my fingers through my hair roughly, releasing a calm sigh as I pushed myself away from the wall, "because I was about ready to shit my pants!"

"Come on," She chortled, taking my hand and dragging me into a candy shop with a little dance in her step, "Candy time!"

My stomach swallowed itself, my throat tightening as I looked at the candy, my feet freezing at the doors. My face scrunched within itself as I looked from her to the sugar-filled food.

"You've got to eat something," She protested as I shook my head vigorously, my feet taking a step back as I squirmed in discomfort, "Stay here, alright?"

Nodding, I watched her go into the candy shop, coming back out with a bag and shoving it into my hands. My body was ready to retch as I looked into the bag, perking up at her as shock flooded my veins, "B-But--- H-How--- Th-They stopped selling these years ago."

She laughed as she punched my arm, fighting me into a headlock and noogying my hair, "Will you please eat, now?"

"How in the hell did you get these?!" With a sigh, I caved and nodded, slowly following her to the park and plopping down on the grass. I dumped the candy on the ground in front of me. A few years ago, our store had stopped selling Starburst, it was unknown why but somehow Mathis had gotten me some. I pushed for answers, shaking her exaggeratedly, "I haven't been able to get them in years!"

"I found out that the reason the store stopped selling them was that the old man's son had choked on one, so he banned them from the store," She shrugged, unwrapping one and shoving it into my mouth to shut me up, "Last month, somebody else bought the store and they started selling them again."

I groaned in glee at the taste of the strawberry, doing a happy dance where I sat, "I could nut at these!"

"Ewe!" She punched me painfully as I fell back, closing my eyes with a happy sigh, her head resting under my chin as she began tracing circles on my chest, "Remember when we tricked the school into thinking we were dating?"

I laughed, immediately sitting up as I looked at her with a shake of my head, "I can't believe anybody fell for that! It was so obvious it wasn't true! We couldn't even kiss when they told us to!"

"Or slow dance!" She wrinkled her nose with disgust, covering her face with her hands like she was ready to vomit, "That was so awkward. How did we survive that for so long?"

"Not as awkward as hiding in the closet and pretending to fuck!" I teased, slipping more candy into my mouth, "Even death has mercy, that was cruel."

"We still did pretty well at the moans," She laughed, practically making me choke on the orange starburst in my mouth, "Do your ahegao, again!"

"It wasn't even called ahegao back then!"

"Do it, do it, doooo itttt!" Rolling my eyes, I gave in, covering my face as she clapped excitedly, a squeal in Mathis' voice, "It's even better than before! Have you been practicing?"

"Goddess Elysium, no!" I scrunched at her with a childish glare, waving her off, "I was hoping to never do that again."

"Can you do different versions?" She chimed, leaning on her elbows like a child to a bedtime story.

"I'm regretting being your friend," I huffed, filled with embarrassment as I did another version.

She ushered for more, screeching when she won the third one. My voice became a squeak at Mr. Lincoln's hefty-toned chuckle speaking up behind us, "I could grow accustomed to those faces."

He and Mr. Hayes sat with us, Mathis watching as they made me sprawl out on their laps, Mr. Hayes caressing my rear with his palm. Hesitantly, I leaned my head against Mr. Lincoln's arm, slowly holding his hand as I smiled sheepishly. My heart was pounding but grew peaceful as I nuzzled against him.

...I-I could really get used to this.
