《Daughter of Stars and Nightmares (The Eternal Bond Saga book 1)》Run! Run for your lives

The car pulled up to Julia's house, Rosalie was pacing the front porch practically frothing at the mouth. As soon as the car cut off its engine she bellowed. "Julia Freya Malphasvostètédeusegons per aconseguir el seucul en aquesta casa. Or so help me, I will drag you out of that car myself." She turned on her heels, walked into the house slamming the door behind her.
Ren pinched the bridge of his nose. "Oh gods, she's beyond pissed. When she gets this way; it's best to duck and cover, because she's liable to blow your head off." He looked at Kuro, Ella, and Abby. "You guys should head home. Alex and I will take Julia in and deal with her mom."
Kuro gave Ren a grim look. "Good luck, buddy. Fingers crossed she doesn't turn you into a pair of boots or anything."
"Yeah, hopefully we'll see you both at school on Monday," Abby chimed in half-joking.
Ella patted Ren on the back as they got out of the car. "If we don't see you guys in the morning, then we'll look for where she's buried your bodies."
After Kuro and the girls left the car; Damien turned around in the driver's seat. "I think I should be the one who takes Julia, not Alex."
Ren flashed him a look that would have made demons tremble."It's because of you and your buddy Mormo we're in this mess."
"Mormo is not my friend and what happened tonight was not my fault," Damien retorted overly defensive.
"I hate to interrupt your little chit chat boys. But that crazy witch looks like she's about to come out here and blast this car and everyone in it in any second now." Véronique opened the door and gave the boys an annoyed look. "Whatever. You guys do what you want, I'm not going anywhere near that crazy hag." She jumped out of the SUV and walked away.
Ren looked up at the house and saw Rosalie standing in the doorway fuming, ready to murder the group. He sighed; knowing now was not the time to fly off the handle. "Damien, we don't have time for this. What I need you to do is get Edrys Corona. Please bring her back straight away. Tell her it's about Julia."
Damien groaned, but left the car and shot off down the street.
Ren got out of the car first; Alex followed carrying Julia who was incoherently mumbling. When they walked through the front door and Rosalie saw the state Julia and her jaw dropped open.
"You sneak out of town with my daughter," Rosalie's eyes were burning with anger as she shrieked at the boys. "Go to some party gods know where and get my daughter drunk. What is wrong with you?"

Ren raised both his hands as he said, "Now, Rosalie, you just need to calm down a second. Julia's ̶"
That only added fuel to the fire and Rosalie rushed at him, her hands going straight for his neck. Ren shouted, "Rosa, calm down!" At the last moment she stopped herself from choking him. Grinding her teeth she let her hands drop to her side and fisted them into tight balls.
She was breathing heavily; as if she was exerting an unimaginable force of energy, trying to control of her raging anger. "Don't you tell me to calm down you damn faerie. How the hell can I ever trust you after this?"
Alex stood by the door cradling Julia in his arms. All the commotion had roused her from her drug induced stupor. Julia opened her eyes, smiled at Alex and nuzzled her face into his chest. Rosalie saw this and locked her steely gaze on the pair. The two boys could literally see the explosions going off in Rosalie's head and the steam billowing out of her ears; as she watched her daughter canoodling with Alex.
She pointed at Alex, "YOU!" it was a statement and an accusation all roll up in one. Through gritted teeth she said, "Put my daughter down and both of you get the hell out of my house before I bring down a wrath on both your heads, which will make Lilith and your mad Faerie Queen look like silly schoolgirls."
"Oh, shut up you crotchety old hag," Julia said slurring her words. "Why don't you go back to torturing kids in your gingerbread house; instead of yelling at the two people that saved my life?"
Rosalie stormed over to Alex and grabbed a hold of her daughter's arm. Julia turned her head and opened her eyes. Rosalie sucked in a sharp breath when she saw Julia's unearthly silvery eyes. Her legs buckled, and she crumpled to the ground.
Ren went to Rosalie, helped her up, and led her over to the sofa. "I'm sorry Rosa; I tried to tell you before."
Tears pooled in her eyes as she looked up at him and asked, "What happened to her? What is happening to my baby girl?"
While Ren tried to console Rosalie; Damien and Edrys walked in through the front door. Edrys was still in her nightgown and a heavy robe; her long hair with huge streaks of white tied back in a long braid. She took one look at everyone in the room and said, "Who is going to tell me why I had to be dragged out of my bed at this ungodly hour?"
Rosalie was sniffling in shock and only pointed a shaking finger at Julia. The second Edrys saw Julia's eyes she gasped, "Oh gods." Then walked over to Julia and placed one hand on her forehead and the other on her chest; closed her eyes and started to chant.

Julia's breathing grew ragged and her body stiffened, but she didn't cry out in any pain. Alex's jaw clenched and his gaze never left Julia.
Edrys opened her eyes and sighed. "Alex, please take Julia upstairs and put her to bed." Walking over to Rosalie she sat down next to her and took her hand. "First things first, you can calm down, Rosa. The bind hasn't broken. A little loosened but not broken." Rosalie tried to say something but Edrys raised a hand to stop her. "Rosalie, I know what you're going to say and the answer is no."
Ren looked at the two women, perturbed that they had been keeping secrets, and asked, "What are you talking about?"
Edrys gave Ren a weary look before she answered, "Rosalie wants the bind on Julia strengthened."
Hearing that Ren lost it, he jumped up and shouted, "Rosalie, you can't do that. Not unless you want to kill her. Are you so afraid of Thorsen that you would risk your own daughter's life?"
Rosalie didn't even look Ren in the eyes. "I don't want to hurt her; but as long as she has that bind Thorsen won't have a need for her."
Alex walked back down the stairs a deep frown marring his face. When he joined the group he said, "That is utter nonsense. Thorsen wants Julia regardless; not to mention he has Mormo working for him."
Both women gasped in unison then Edrys said, "Are you absolutely positive Mormo is working for him?"
"Yes," Alex replied matter-of-fact. "He did something to Julia and then he tried to kidnap her. We were lucky to get her back."
Both Alex and Ren looked at Damien prompting him to explain what happened.
Damien had been quietly standing in the livingroom's corner watching everyone. He gave both Alex and Ren a sharp look, then crossed his arms, and said in a flat tone, "He tried to unbind her or at least that's what I think he did. Honestly, I don't really know. But what I do know is that he gave her a ton of blood and it smelt like dark faerie blood. After that Julia's eyes changed."
Edrys shook her head deep in thought.
Rosalie asked, "Do you have any idea whose blood it was?"
Damien shook his head. "No, I'm sorry I don't. Mormo pinned me to the wall, and he wasn't answering any of my questions. Alex is right though, Thorsen wants Julia and he won't stop until he gets her."
"What are we going to do?" Rosalie asked desperation etched in her whole body.
Ren looked Rosalie straight in the eyes and grabbed her shoulders. "Unbind her like I've been telling you. It's her only chance of standing up against Thorsen."
"No. That is never going to happen," Rosalie shot back in a resolute tone.
Ren let go of her, threw his hands up in the air as he glared down at the two witches. "Why not? I don't understand why you have to be so gods damn stubborn about this."
Edrys arched an eyebrow. The look on her face told everyone in the room the light faerie's outburst didn't impress her. "Oren, calm down," she interjected in a firm tone. "Taking the bind off right now is not an option," she looked at Rosalie, "nor is strengthening it. And that leaves us with what to do about those eyes."
Ren huffed as he knelt in front of Rosalie. He placed both his hands on her legs. "Rosa, I think now is the time to tell her some of the truth. I'm not saying all of it. Only the parts about who Julia's father really is. And tell her about Thorsen."
"No, I can't do that," Rosalie whispered. "I can't ruin her life like that; not during her last year of school. The truth will crush her. And don't even think about asking me to tell her about Beatrix."
Edrys rubbed Rosalie's back and said, "Rosa, no one is asking you to tell her about Beatrix. But you can't keep lying to her about the rest of it. One, everything is falling into place and catching up to her and two, there is no hiding her eyes from her. Oren is right; tell her the truth about Ásgeirr. Now, as for her eyes, I will get her some contacts tomorrow."
Rosalie looked at Edrys. "I was hoping this day would never come."
"I know you were old friend." Edrys said kindly. Then she looked at Ren giving him a smirk. "So, when will the effects of your little concoction wear off?"
Ren grinned and chuckled. "Leave it to you to figure out I drugged her. It won't wear off till the morning. Besides, Julia won't be crawling out of bed until midday."
Edrys clapped her hands together. "Okay then; that settles that. All of us will meet back here tomorrow at noon. Then Rosa, you will tell Julia the truth and I will have the contacts by then." She got up off the couch. "All right boys it's time for us to leave. Oren, why don't you walk me home? We have a lot to discuss about where we go from here. Rosalie, try to get some rest, tomorrow will be a gruelling day."
