《What I Didn't Say [Tae Kwang's Unsent Letters]》Bonus 3/3

The morning was full, and bright, unlike the confusion of my heart, as my feet shuffled against the hard texture of the bridge.
My gaze met Eun Bi's, reminding me of the text message she had sent. It's been so long, that this kind of thing wasn't normal anymore, and I didn't know what to expect.
"Tae Kwang. Turn around." She stated, and even though it didn't make sense, I listened to her orders, making my back face her.
"I wasn't expecting myself to tell anyone about this, and I'm not ready to see your reaction, so just stay put."
I nodded, eager to know what she had to say, that she was so shy about.
"So remember that day, when I said I didn't belong to anyone? Well... I was serious." She sorta mumbles.
What? I had nothing to say. I didn't even know what to think. Silence stuck between the two of us, as the blur of life went on.
Her words echoed throughout my mind, slowly realizing what she was saying.
"Did he break your heart?" I hesitated to say the words.
"No... I don't think so." She speaks slowly and uncertainly, thinking if she should change her mind. "He hurt me, there's no use denying that."
"Was it bad?" I felt nosy, it didn't feel right, and I hoped she wouldn't storm off. I needed her here, even if I couldn't see her.
"Enough to make me cry. Just... enough. He hurt me enough." She stammered, and I wondered if she was crying just thinking about it.
I didn't want to hear her cry, and I feel bad for ignoring it, but I tried keeping up the conversation.
"Did you love him?" It's something I wanted to know, even though it wasn't good to ask.

"No... not even close. The truth is I fell for him first, and then you, but for some reason I thought it was better to go for your first choice. It's now that I realize that if I truly loved him, I wouldn't have fell for the second."
She was slowly reviving all the butterflies that had died so long ago, they were all sparking again.
"I could have fell for him though." She continues. "If he would have given me that chance."
I nodded. I had nothing to say, and I was slowly taking it all in.
"So about prom, that you mentioned in your last letter.... I want to go with you. So don't plan on letting me go. Because I'm staying."
No matter what she said about not facing her, I had to break that rule.
I turned around, and hugged her, memories overflowing as I inhaled her scent.
