Y/E/C - your eye color (if your eyes are green, pretend that they're lighter or darker).

Everyone rushes into the hospital doors. I could barely walk because the pain was unbearable. The hospital is filled with loud chatter from my family as doctors come rushing over to us.

"What's the problem here?" asks a guy who was about Larry's age.

"My daughter's water broke and the baby could be born any minute!" my mom panics.

"Ok ok it's alright. There's no need to worry. We'll get her into a room as soon as possible."

A nurse comes with a wheelchair. Ahk walks me over to the wheelchair so I can sit down. I howl as the pain starts to get worse.

The nurse starts to push the wheelchair to the nearest room and my family starts to follow. The doctor stops them before they do.

"I only need the patient's husband and the patient's mother," the doctor says.

"That would be us," my mother says as she steps forward while holding Ahk's hand. Ahk was sweating profusely.

The doctor motions for them to follow. They all start running after me and the nurse. After a few turns, we're in a hospital room. The nurse helps me up and starts to undress me so she can put on the hospital gown. After I'm dressed, she helps me onto the hospital bed. She extends my right arm and puts in an IV. I paid no attention to the pain because the pain from the contractions were way worse.

"Please get this thing out of me!" I scream.

"It's ok, miss. We're going to make sure that we check when the baby is ready to come out," she answers.

I start crying, both from the pain and from the fact that this would take a while. Ahk and my mom come rushing in. Ahk gets down on his knees so he can hold my hand.

"Everything will be ok, my love. I won't leave you. I'll be right here," he says softly.

"We'll be with you through this whole thing," my mom says.

Surprisingly, that seemed to calm me down a bit. But it was only seconds before the next contraction hit. I yell in pain.

"I swear if the baby doesn't come out now, I'm going to rip it out myself!" I yell.

"No no no the baby will be here soon. We just have to wait." Ahk reassures me.

"But when?!" I start to cry again.

Ahk looks to my mom for an answer.

"We don't know when, but it'll be very soon," my mom says.

The nurse comes back to check to see how far I was dilated.

"Ok just a little bit longer. We're almost there," the nurse says.

I groan.

"Miss, if you can't handle any of the pain, you could always ask for epidural. Unfortunately, it will delay the birth."

"No," I breath heavily. "I'm going to push through this!"

My mom looks shocked. She didn't expect me to say that.

Another contraction hits. I yell and start to cry again.

"Ahk, do you remember what I told you to do?" my mom asks.

"Oh," Ahk realizes. "Ok, my love. We need to breathe, ok. Do what I'm doing."

He starts to breathe different breaths at a rhythm. I start to do the same and it calms me down a little bit. When another contraction hits, it doesn't hurt as bad.

"Good good. Keep going," my mom says. Me and Ahk continue to breathe together for about 5 minutes until more contractions hit, and almost back to back. An hour later, at least I THINK it was an hour, my mom leaves the room, probably to go see if the family was ok.

When she comes back, so does the nurse, and she comes in with the same doctor that we saw earlier.

She checks in between my legs again.

"Ok, miss! It's time to push!" she says.

I look at Ahk shocked at how fast, but slow, the time went.

I start pushing and I squeeze Ahk's hand tightly. My mom goes on the side of me behind Ahk so that she can help support my back as well as take Ahk's place so that I won't break his hand from squeezing too hard. They both switch places and Ahk holds my shoulders.

"Come on, push!" he says.

I push again and squeeze my mom's hand even tighter. She starts to cry both from the pain and because her grandchild was about to be born.

After several more pushes, I feel something escape my body. In an instant I hear a loud cry. I cover my mouth when I realize that the baby was born. I let go of my mom's hand as the doctor and nurse bring up the baby.

"Congratulations! It's a girl!" the nurse squeals.

She takes the baby from the doctor's arms and carries her over to me. I reach out for the baby impatiently. Once the nurse is closer to me, I slowly grab the baby from her arms. I cradle her and look at her in awe. She was the most perfect and precious thing that I had ever seen. I look up at my mom and Ahk with my eyes full of tears. My mom was so emotional and couldn't keep her composure and Ahk was crying more than I had ever seen him cry before.

I look back at the baby. She had her eyes closed, but she clearly wasn't asleep.

"Ahk, do you want to hold our baby?" I ask.

Ahk carefully grabs the baby and looks at her. He softly rubs his thumb on her face. Then he lightly grabs her little hand with his thumb and pointer finger. He looks up at me with a big smile on his face.

"I'm a dad," he says. I nod my head and laugh as more tears fall from my eyes. He turns around to hand the baby over to my mom. As soon as my mom grabs her, she starts bawling her eyes out.

"Oh my gosh! You're so beautiful!" she whisper shouts.

I look up at the door and my family comes racing in. Joana squeals when she sees the baby. My mom hands the baby over to my dad. He holds her for a little bit before handing her over or Joana. Joana was so thrilled to be the godmother of baby. Larry and Nick awkwardly stand around.

"Larry, you can hold her too, you know," I say.

He jumps at my response. Joana hands the baby over to him and he looks at her in admiration. Nick looked like he was on cloud 9.

"Larry, we've been doing a lot of thinking lately and we would be honored if you could be Y/N's godfather," my mom says.

"What?" he says shocked.

"You've done so much for me and Ahk. You're like a second father to me," I say.

"Wow. I don't know what to say," Larry says. He pauses. "Except for of course!"

We all laugh. He walks over to me and lets me hold the baby. The nurse comes back.

"We'll need to take your baby just for a few minutes, miss."

I hand her over to the nurse, not wanting to let go. The last thing I let go of is her little hand. The nurse leaves the room as I still reach out for the baby. I sigh and put my arm down.

"How do you feel?" Joana asks.

"Like I'm in heaven," I say.

*time passes*

"She's back!" the nurse says in a tuneful way.

I gasp and reach for my baby. Once she's in my arms again, I kiss her forehead. Her eyes were still closed.

"Why won't she open her eyes?" I ask the nurse.

"Some babies do that. Maybe you could try to talk to her. That sometimes works."

I start quietly talking to the baby. She still doesn't open her eyes, but she smiles.

"Aww her smile!" I squeal. "Ahk she has your smile!"

Ahk leans down to look at our baby. She still had a cute smile on her face. Ahk looks at me smiling from ear to ear. Yep. She DEFINITELY has his smile.

"So what's her name?" the nurse asks.

"Oh. That's a good question," I say. Out of all the things that we have done, we never thought of a name for the baby.

"You could name her after a relative, a lifelong friend, an ancestor," the nurse lists off.

"Name her after me," Joana says, in a confident and sarcastic way. I giggle.

"Maybe you could name her after your great grandmother," my mom suggests. My great grandmother's name was Esther. I loved the name, but I felt like it didn't fit the baby.

"Esther is a good name," my dad says. Everyone agrees in unison. They all start chattering about other names we could give her until Marissa breaks into the conversation.

"She could have my middle name," she says.

"What's your middle name?" I ask curiously.

Marissa starts to laugh. "Y/N I was totally joking. I was just throwing it out there."

"Who knows. Maybe I might like the name. Plus, I still owe you."

"Well it's an obvious name. I don't think you'd want to name her it."

I stare at her for a while until she sighs.

"It's Egypt," she says.

I think for a little bit and look at Ahk. He nods his head.

"That's what we'll name her," I say. "Egypt".

And literally right on cue, the baby starts to opens her eyes. I gasp when I see her eye color. She had heterchromia, meaning that her eyes were two different colors. Her left eye was Ahk's eye color, which is green. And her right eye was my eye color, which is Y/E/C.

"I guess she likes it," the nurse says.

"I still think you should give the name Esther a shot. Maybe it could be her nickname," my mom says.

Egypt Esther? "I don't know. I'll think about it," I say.

Everyone comes closer to me and baby Egypt to look and admire her and her eyes.

Who knew that from the moment I walked up those museum stairs for the first time, that my life would forever be changed. I never expected myself to be in this position right now, laying in bed after giving birth to my first child, and a week after marrying the love of my life.

People always say that history repeats itself, but for me and Ahk, that obviously didn't happen. We wouldn't be looking our daughter in the eyes right now if it did. If I've learned anything, I've learned that the people who love you will always be there for you and they'll never leave your side. And even in another life, they'll still love you the same way they did before.
