《Our Ancient Love》Chapter 38: The Wedding

"Is she ready yet?" my dad calls from outside the dressing room.

"Yep. In just a second," answers the hairdresser as she fixes up my hair while the makeup artist fixes up my makeup.

The wedding would be starting in 5 minutes and the nerves started to kick in. Literally. I kept feeling a kick in my stomach every 10 seconds.

"I really hope my water doesn't break today," I say as the hairdresser sprays my hair.

"If it does, then it'll definitely be a day to remember," she says. Me and the makeup artist laugh.

I stand up after the hairdresser is finished with my hair. She grabs a beautiful bouquet of flowers snd hands it to me. Is this really happening right now?! I let out a few breaths as reality was finally starting to hit me. She opens the door and I start to walk out. My dad was at the end of the hall facing the other way. He immediately turns around when he hears the door squeak. My dad stares at me in awe. I walk up closer to him.

He chuckles before speaking. "Ahk is going to pass out when he sees you and sees that dress. And so is your mom."

I start to laugh. My mom has no idea how my dress looks or what I did with it. I look down at my dress in absolute amazement in what Marissa did. I DEFINITELY owe her big time.

My dad pulls the veil over my face and holds out his arm for me to grab. I grab his arm as I hold the flowers in my other arm. We walk out the door exiting the hallway and take a few turns until we're at the sanctuary doors. My heart was beating so fast that I thought that my heart would pop out of my chest.

We were standing at the doors, waiting for what seemed like eternity until I heard the wedding music start. Here goes nothing.

The usher opens the doors and all I can see from the sanctuary is all the bright and beautiful decorations. Me and my dad start to walk forward and my dress is fully revealed. Everyone gasps in amazement.

I try my best to hold my smile but fail. My dress was a combination between my dress from my first wedding and my mom's wedding dress. Marissa took different parts of the material from my mom's dress and put it onto my dress. Not only that, but she also found out a way to stretch out my dress without damaging it so that my stomach could easily fit into it.

We continue to walk as I see all of the familiar faces of my loved ones in the crowd. As we get closer near the front, I can see all of my bridesmaids, the groomsmen, and the flower girl and the ring bearer, which was Nick. He looked absolutely adorable in his little tux.

I see my mom, Joana, and Marissa standing near each other and almost bursting into tears. My mom looks shocked when she realizes what I did with my dress. Rebecca was also standing near them because she was one of my bridesmaids. Then I look over to Larry, who Ahk chose as his best man. He gave me a nod.

And last but not least, I look over to my handsome future husband. He wore a white tux and his hair was super curly. He stares at me with his eyes and mouth wide open. Larry pats his shoulder, probably to signal, "Good job."

Me and my dad stop at the end of the benches and he gives me a hug before letting me go over to Ahk. I take my position and stand next to him. We couldn't stop smiling like idiots. He puts out his left hand for me to grab. I hesitate before grabbing his hand and looking at his adorable face. We look at the marriage officiant as he begins speaking.

*time passes*

"You may now kiss the bride!" the marriage officiant shouts.

I could tell that Ahk was starting to panic. He was shakingly lifting up my veil. I laugh, lift it over my head, and jump into his arms as I kiss him. He almost falls over but he catches himself. Everyone in the room shouts and cheers for us. Ahk puts me down as we end our kiss. We grab each other's hand and lift it into the air as everyone starts cheering louder.

I look at Ahk and he looks completely bewildered at what was happening. We start to walk down the aisle together to exit the sanctuary and everyone begins throwing flower petals and streamers at us. We both giggle at the sudden happy uproar, unable to even hear ourselves think. Today, will be a day that is impossible to forget and something that I'll cherish for the rest of my life.
