《From Another Time (FrUK)》10

I arrived at Arthur's home around eight that night and heard a lot of noise coming from inside. Worried, I quickly opened the door... and what I saw horrified me. It was that guy again....on top of Arthur.... with his hands up his shirt. "Oh hey Francis, I didn't think you'd be here so soon," he smiled. He got up away from that guy and walked toward me. He was still in his button-up shirt and suit pants. Of course, he didn't have time to change... he was too busy with this guy over here. "Yeah, you said eight."
"Oh, right! My bad. By the way, this is Alfred. Alfred this is Francis.... he is a friend," Arthur said with a pause. It made me freeze, and I felt hurt. I felt my eyelid twitch as I put my hand out for a handshake. "Yeah.... that's me, the friend. Nice to meet you," I laughed, looking away. "Oh, rad! Arthur told me a little about you. You are so simple haha!" He laughed, and I immediately froze in anger. Who does this guy think he is? I could easily take him out right now, and no one would realize he was gone.
"Haha... how do you know each other?" I asked, trying to force a smile. Alfred put his arm around Arthur, pulling him closer. "We grew up together. In fact, we are super close. I know almost everything about Arthur, and he knows everything about me and Mattie," Alfred smiled with a cheeky grin. God, I just wanted to smack it off of him. This cocky bastard has it coming. "Oh, please. Alfred is just exaggerating. We did grow up together, but it's a family relationship," Arthur smiled.
"Wow, I'm hurt. You had to clarify that part. And here I was ready to marry you behind Mattie's back," Alfred laughed. That comment didn't make me feel better. In fact, it made me want to punch him even more. "Oh please, I saw the looks you were giving Kiku at lunch," Arthur laughed pulling me inside the room. I quickly took my shoes off and hung up my coat on the coat rack by the door. "What! I was not!" Alfred said, turning red. "Francis, are you hungry?" Arthur asked. He was like a whole different person around Alfred. That also didn't make me feel any better. I was considering doing as Lucile suggested.

I sat on the sofa across from Alfred, and I couldn't help but look at his eyes. I remember when my eyes were that blue, I miss them. It's been so long since I was actually alive that I've forgotten what it was like to have all these emotions. Arthur came back with tea and sat beside Alfred. "Jeez, you need a haircut," Alfred laughed, touching Arthur's hair. And once again, I became pissed looking at Alfred touching Arthur.
I guess that if I were to touch Arthur, he would just say how cold I was. I wouldn't be able to keep him warm at night or be able to hug him on cold winter nights. All these negative thoughts made me want to get up and punch something. Something that wasn't Alfred's face, of course.... Arthur wouldn't forgive me if I did that. "Oh please, worry about yourself," Arthur said, moving away. "Well, you are right big bro. Now I have to go; let's have lunch again sometime," Alfred smiled, standing up.
I started to space out as Arthur showed Alfred out the door. Turn him, or kill him is what Lucile said. None of those things is a happy ending for him, besides me just disappearing from his life. Once he discovers who I am, he will despise me with every fabric of his being. Maybe I should forget about him? But how can I just do that? "Hello?" Arthur's voice hummed.
"Sorry, I must have spaced out."
"No worries, if you want... maybe you should stay here for the night?"
"I don't know; I do bad at sleeping at other people's houses," I said nervously. The truth is, I don't sleep at all. "Don't worry about it; I'll let you use some of my clothes, and you can sleep on the sofa. I mean, unless you wanted to sleep in my bed?" He asked. My face turned red at the thought, making me extremely nervous with the idea of his smell all over me.

What if I were to attack him? I wouldn't forgive myself for that. "Ummm..." was all I managed to say. "Don't worry, I know I can be grouchy sometimes, but I just want to be nice," he smiled. Maybe he was doing his best to be good friends with me? "Sure..." was all I said. He was so close to me that I couldn't help but reach out and pull him closer. "How was work?" I asked.
His body stiffened in my embrace as he slowly separated from me. "You won't believe it, but we got a video of the culprits," he said, and now I stiffened. "Oh? Is that so?" I asked nervously. "Yeah, it is a man and woman," he said, looking into my eyes. I felt myself swallow my guilt. Despite being so attached to Arthur, I knew I was still a monster. A monster that killed many people in the past and present.
"Were you able to get identification?" I asked. Arthur turned away from me and shook his head. "No, but we are very close to finding out who. We all know they are a man and woman, both blonde hair. And that's all," he said in a very stressed way. I was causing him stress, making his life more difficult. I don't deserve his kindness, and he doesn't deserve to have everything taken away from him. I need to think of what I should do next. "Well, enough of that. Let's go to sleep," he smiled, pulling me up.

Dear Spellbook (Link to rewrite in blurb)
A rewrite of this story has been posted here: https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/49881/dear-spellbook-a-fantasy-time-loop-rewrite Live. Study. Repeat. Tal is a sorcerer in a world where they are killed on sight, traveling with a man charged with carrying out the task. Every night Tal must pretend to study his spellbook to maintain his disguise as a Wizard’s Apprentice. If his disguise slips and his charade is uncovered, it will be his death. Seeking answers to mysteries that arose after his parent’s murder, Tal must accept any allies, no matter the risks, to uncover his family’s secret. But when he wakes up one morning to find himself trapped repeating the same day, he has to overcome his challenges all on his own. This story is an adaptation of a D&D campaign I ran but never was able to complete. I tried to capture the feel of a table-top RPG session —tropes and humor— without relying on the mechanics. This is not a litRPG or gamelit story and no D&D mechanics or system appear in the game. It follows one member of an adventuring party as he deals with the problems with that arise from being an adventurer. Namely, getting roped into adventures. The story has a time loop element, but will eventually move past that. This story explores the magic systems, the history, and the lore of the world through the lens of Tal's entries in his Spellbook and interludes from other written works in the world. New entries on Mondays Credit to JackOfHearts for the cover.

Code Reader Kagami (LitRPG)
Sometimes things happen in this world that we are not in control of. Sometimes we are to a certain degree, and sometimes we are completely in control. However, this is a tale that constantly questions those boundaries. The story follows Kagami, a young programmer, as he winds up in a world almost alien to him. If it were up to him, he would have never visited this world and would rather stay raising his young daughter. Was it through his own actions that he had wound up here? Was it due to several combinations of factors? Or was it something he completely chose. These are questions that constantly haunt Kagami’s mind as he wanders this world and ponders his actions. Unfortunately, the glaring truth of it all refuses to ever look him in the eyes. Each night as he looks up at the night sky, he wonders if the end of this would turn out like the game he made. A tale of Guts and Glory… or would it turn out like he fears, a tale of blood and tears. Regardless of how it turns out, he will one day unveil the truth enshrouding it all. And perhaps in doing so, unveil the fate of his old world, enshrouded by mystery. ___________________________________________________________________________ While this is a typical Isekai started by the infamous truck-kun, the story is most definitely not what is to be taken at face value. I love making tragic twists into these types of stories. For Code Reader Kagami, you'll begin to see a descent into psychological madness. As your hero changes entirely from the moral man he initially was. If you're not a fan of dark aspect stories, this one is not for you. Thank you~
