The S.S. King. It's unsinkable, right? WRONG. The ship hit an iceberg at 20 till midnight yesterday. My family and all the passengers and crew got off safely and are now headed back to England. I somehow got stuck on the island with my 10-year-old brother, Jamie. Lucky I read that book on essentials to live on a deserted island. If we were back home in London, normally we would be ignoring each other. I would be with by BFFs at the mall and Jamie and his friends would be outplaying basketball or something. The past 15 years since I was born have been spent in Europe. This was supposed to be our first vacation to America, and now me and my brother, who is 5 years younger than me, are lost.

Jamie explored island. I got food. Made shelter. It's raining.

It was raining all yesterday, so I couldn't write an entry.
We finally finished our shelter, and it's clearing up. Me and Jamie both long for England. Where there were no tiny huts. Where there were no survival challenges. Oh, how I long for home.

Made fire. Storm coming. Ate bananas. More rain yesterday. Lots more.

Well, me and Jamie are getting along well so far, unlike we usually do, though we are fighting off death, so to speak. Normally, Jamie and I quarrel at least once a day. I never realized how smart he is.
We finally made it a week on this miserable, rainy, tropical island. I wonder if there are coconuts. Maybe. Maybe not. I'll go look.
