Lien was a pretty girl, she had pale skin and deep brown hair with interesting honey amber eyes. It might be helpful to mention that she also had a pair of feathered wings that matched her hair.
Yes, wings. And she wasn't the only one.
She lived with her siblings and often interacted with the other winged people.
She had a happy quiet life deep in the forest.
There was, however, one particular winged man who always seemed to go out of his way to converse with her.
His name was Alfred: he lived in the west wing of the Great forest with his three older brothers (technically he had two, but since Francis was dating his oldest brother, he considered him family).
Alfred was a rather hyper young man who was the youngest in his region of the forest.
He had dirty blond hair with the most adorable cowlick and shy blue eyes.
Despite his brothers many warnings, he still enjoyed watching humans, he even wore a pair of "glasses" on the ground that one human had supposedly left behind.
Despite his recklessness, he was constantly reading, years ago, he had taught himself to read the human language.
Lien couldn't help, but admire him.
But of course, her brother Yao told her to avoid him; he was constantly bickering with the so called "westerners".
So Lien always had to watch him from afar, hoping her brother would change his mind.
Until one day...
It was a rather lazy afternoon at the gathering lake.
Lien had finally found a moment to herself and was dipping her feet into the cool water.
It was all quiet, until Lien heard a loud flapping.
She groaned. "Yao, I'm not in the mood."
"I'm not Yao, dudette." A playful voice responded.

She turned around, blush rose to her cheeks upon seeing who it was.
"A-Alfred..."
He frownend. "How do you know my name?"
She hurriedly came up with a quick lie. "Well... I remember you made a speech at the last gathering."
His frown vanished, his eyes turned hopeful. "What did you think of it?"
"Huh?"
"My speech."
"Oh..." Honestly, she was more focused on him than his speech. "I found it... well spoken."
He smiled sweetly, making Lien blush harder.
"Thanks, Dudette, most people thought it was stupid." His eyes saddened. "But, I really think we should give humans another chance."
Oh, that's what his speech was on. She thought. "Uh... yeah, me too, I guess..."
"Lien!" A new voice barked. "Get away from the Westerner!"
Alfred chuckled. "I should go. I'll see you later, yeah?"
Lien couldn't believe her ears. "A-absolutely!"
"LIEN!"
"See ya, beautiful." And with that, Alfred flew off.

Prey No More
Imagine being given a second chance at life. Not only that but with a life you chose (sort of). This is exactly the situation that our character is in. He was once a Biology Graduate Student involved in a special program in Alaska studying Polar Bears. In an ironic twist of fate his life is ended by exactly that which he was trying to study. Now, in a new world, he refuses to be anything but the top of the food chain. IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a story I began writing a year and a half ago and decided to shelf, I'm coming back to it now because I miss writing; however, I have not carved out any time specifically for this and, as of now, it will be something I do on the side for fun. Currently I have 9 chapters plus a prologue written; I'm going to be going through and editting it to be in a present tense (from past), as well as changing some of the story and grammar. Let me know what you think, and thanks for reading.

~completed~What do you want to be Beatrice? I mean when you grow up." Tobias says, while we share our last moments together. We lay on the grass. Two six year olds. Laying in our spot looking at the sky. I look over to him, into his sky blue eyes and smile. "You know what. I want to be a frog. I never have to leave you. And I can jump so high I can touch the sky. And I'll be free. Oh everything would be amazing!"He smiles at me and giggles. "I want to be a pig. Never have to leave you. AND I get to be as messy as I want!" We both burst into laughter. I'm going to miss this. I hear my mother calling me and my eyes fill with tears. "I'm going to miss you Toby!" I wrap my small arms around him and look into his chubby little face. "I will miss you to, Trissy."
