You and Slithraa both wince when you hear a loud crash from over by the drink table, followed by the sound of Jay yelling. You facepalm. Jay can't even stay out of trouble without you for five minutes, can he?

"What wasss that?" Slithraa asks.

"My boyfriend," you sigh. "I'd better go make sure he hasn't gotten himself into trouble."

"All right," Slithraa calls after you as you start shoving your way through the crowd. "Good luck, y/n!"

You keep pushing toward the sound of Jay's yelling. "Thanks," you call over your shoulder. In a softer voice, you mutter, "I have a feeling I'll need it."

Finally, you emerge into a ring of bystanders surrounding an overturned table with spilled drinks and cups lying around it. Jay is sitting on the ground and apparently yelling at the table for getting in his way.

"Oh, boy," you mutter under your breath. You completely forgot to warn Jay that most of the drinks at these parties are alcoholic. It looks like he's learned that the hard way.

"Hey," Jay yells. "Has anyone seen my girlfriend? Her name's y/n and she's a cute kitten and..."

You pull Jay to his feet. "Come on, Jay, you're drunk. You need to go home."

Jay pulls away in protest, then wobbles and grabs your shoulder for support. "But I've gotta find y/n! Have you seen her?"

"I'm right here, Jay," you sigh, trying not to lose patience. "Come on, let's get you home and get some sleep."

Jay follows you out of the frat house, asking if you know where y/n is and swaying on his feet. After a few false starts, you manage to steer Jay down the street toward your dorm. Eventually, you give up on trying to persuade him that you're y/n and tell him that you'll lead him to her, which at least quiets him down.

Jay is wobbling so badly that you end up pulling his arm over your shoulders to keep him steady, which provokes another round of mostly incoherent yelling.

"Jay, I know you've had a lot to drink, but can you please quiet down?" you sigh.

"Just you wait until my girlfriend gets her hands on you, Nya! She's going to kick your butt! You're not gonna get away with this!"

You facepalm with your free hand. "While I appreciate the vote of confidence, Jay, could you please be quiet? People are trying to sleep."

Jay leans against you and slurs drunkenly, "You can't tell me to be quiet! My girlfriend could take on twenty of you..." seconds later, he's fast asleep in your arms.

"Not what I meant, but okay," you sigh. You work yourself around until you're carrying Jay bridal-style and stagger the rest of the way to your dorm room. Somehow, you manage to fumble your key into the lock and get the door open without dropping Jay. You put him in your bed, put a trash can next to him in case he needs to throw up, then get into the blanket-bed Jay made on the floor and go to sleep.
