~Apartment Building Walls~
Dean and Jo were squeezing through crawlspaces inside the building walls. Jo was on the phone.
"Oaky. Call us if you check the southeast wall." She hung up. "Sam's almost done with the first floor. Hasn't found jack squat either. (M/n) also cant sense anything either." Dean stopped. "What is it?"
"It's too narrow. Cant go any further."
"Let me see."
"What are you-" She squeezed past him. "Ugh. Shoulda cleaned the pipes."
"What?"
"I, uh, I wish the pipes were cleaner."
"Shu up. I can fit in there."
"You're not going in there by yourself."
"You got a better idea?"
"You-"
"Uh-huh." She continued down the tight space past Dean. After she goes out of sight, he calls her on the phone.
"Where are you?"
"On the north wall." She finds an air duct and starts climbing down it. "I'm heading down some kind of air duct."
"No, no, no, no, stay up here."
"Look, we've gotta find this girl, don't we? I'm okay."
Dean was studying the blueprints. "All right. I'm heading to you."
Jo came out into a similar space on a lower level and presses on. Goo starts pouring out from the wall cracks.
"Oh god."
"What is it? Jo? Jo!"
Jo screams. Dean runs down to the lower level, trying to hear where she is. "Jo!" He takes a sledgehammer and smashes a large hole in the wall. He pokes his head in and finds where Jo was, her cell phone was lying on the floor. She is gone.
Dean rushed back up the hallway, running headlong into Sam and (M/n).
"Whoa."
"He's got Jo."
"What? How'd that happen?" Sam asked his brother.
"I wasn't with her, I left her alone. Dammit!"
"Hey, hey, look, we'll find her, all right?" Sam said.
"Or we can let him have her." The brothers glared at the demon, who looked away.
"Where are we gonna find her?"
"Inside the walls."
"We've been inside the walls all night. None of the girl were there, she wont be there."
~In the apartment~
"Look. We've just gotta take a beat and think about this. Maybe we got Holmes' M.O. wrong."
"Yeah, well, we'd better friggin' think fast." Dean's cell phone rings again, he answers it.
"Yeah."
"You lied to me. She's there." Ellen's voice said.
"Ellen."
"No, Ash told me everything. Man's a genius, but he folds like a cheap suit. Now you put my damn daughter on the phone."

"She's gonna have to call you back, she's taking care of, uh, feminine business."
"Yeah, right. Where is she? Where is she?!" The woman yelled.
"Look, we'll get her back."
"Get her back? Back from what?"
"The spirit we're hunting, it took her."
"Oh my god."
"She'll be okay, I promise."
"You promise. That is not the first time I've heard that from a Winchester."
"What?"
"If anything happens to her....."
"It won't. I wont let it. Ellen, I'm sorry, I really am."
"I'm taking the first flight out. I'll be there in a few hours." She hung up.
"Dammit!"
"Don't beat yourself up, Dean. There's nothing you could have done." Sam said.
"Tell me you've got something."
"Uh, maybe. Look. You look at the layout of the Holmes murder castle, there's all the torture chambers inside the wall, right?"
"Right."
"But there's one we haven't considered yet. The one in this basement."
"This building doesn't have a basement."
"You're right, it doesn't. Bu to just noticed this. There's a sewer system that hasn't been used."
"Alright, that's enough for me." (M/n) opened his mouth and a black mist came out. The boy's lifeless body fell on the floor and the mist went into a vent.
"What the hell is he doing?" Sam asked.
"I don't know, but lets follow." And dean was out the door.
~Creepy Sewer~
Jo wakes up in a small, dark place, lying in her back. She still has her flashlight, she shines it around to reveal a wall or wood a few inches above her face, it has long scratches gouged in it. She starts to sob with a hand over her face, then collects herself. To her right was anonther wood panel with a slit, looking through she can see a larger, round chamber with similar compartments to the one she's in around it. She heard a noise.
"Hello?" She called out.
"Is, is anybody there?" Teresa called out, in another compartment.
"Your names Teresa?"
"Yes."
"This wont make you feel better, but I'm here to rescue you."
"Oh god. He's out there, he's gonna kill us!" The girl screamed.
"No, he won't. We're getting out. My friends are looking for us, they'll find us."
They heard quiet footsteps.
"Oh god, it's him!"
"Shhh! Just be quiet!"
All was very quiet. Then the creepy hand bursts through in Jo's prison and grabs her head. She screams as it rips off a chunk of her hair.
~Street~
Sam and Dean, with a metal detector and a shovel, respectively, search the streets of Philadelphia. The follow the trail into an open field until Sam stops over one spot, the detector whining.

"Here."
Dean drops his bag and starts digging.
~Back in the sewer~
Jo was kicking steadily and furiously on the wall of her wooden cell. She drops back in exhaustion. She hears footsteps approaching and turns, a scraggly-bearded mouth appears at the opening.
"You're so pretty. So beautiful." The spirit said.
"Go to hell!"
He reached his hand through the opening and fondles her. She turns away and groans in disgust and horror. Suddenly she turns, stabbing into the hand with her knife. The spirit flees, screaming.
"How do you like that? Pure iron, you creepy-ass son of a bitch!"
"Wow, your as lame as I thought with come backs." The girl in the other cell suddenly said. "He could of at least giving you guys more leg room, this sucks."
Jo looked confused. "(M/n)? Is that you?"
"The one and only."
"Let me guess, here to save me?"
"Yeah...I didn't think this out all the way." He said. Holmes grabs Jo's arm again, pulling her back, and clamps a hand down over her mouth.
"Shhh."
Jo struggled, trying to scream, but couldn't.
"Hey!" Dean yelled, he fires his gun into Holmes' chest, sending him flying backwards and out of sight.
"Jo?!"
"I'm here!" Dean finds an iron bar leaning against a wall and starts to pry open Jo's prison with it. Sam investigates the other compartments, one contains gruesome body parts. He finds Teresa.
"Sup, Sammy." She said.
"What were you thinking?" He was the demon.
"I have no idea." Sam got the bar and opens the compartment. Both Jo and Teresa got out.
"You alright?"
"Benn better. Lets get the hell out of here before he comes back."
"Actually, I don't think you're leaving here just yet."
"What?"
"Remember when I said you being bait was a bad plan? Now it's kind of the only one we got."
"And me." The demon said, still in Teresa's body.
"No, you get her out of here and get back in your original body." Dean told him.
"Uughh, fine. Mom." And the demon left.
~Later~
Jo was sitting alone, silently, in he middle of the chamber. She had her arms wrapped around her knees, trembling. But she was calm. Holmes appears behind her. He walks forward, when he got closer, Dean yelled 'now'. Jo dives forward as the boys fire at something on the walls, several bags unroll and spill salt in a perfect circle around Holmes. Trapping him.
~In the street~
Jo, Sam, and (M/n) were standing at the entrance to the sewer, looking down.
"So? This job as glamorous as you thought it would be?"
"Well, except for all the pee your pants terror, yeah. Sure. But that Teresa gonna live because of us, right?" They looked at the boy next to them.
"What? I didn't kill her, she's fine." He said.
"Hey, what if somebody find that sewer down there, or a storm washes the salt away?" Jo asked.
"Both fine points. Which is why we're waiting here."
"For what?"
A loud beeping sound of a large truck backing up is heard. Sam smiles and looks over his shoulder, a cement mixer is backing up into the field, stopping just over the sewer entrance. Dean was driving.
"For that." He waved for him to stop the truck. Dean gets out and he and Sam set up the cement mixer right over the entrance.
"You ripped off a cement truck?" Jo asked.
"I'll give it back,"
~Highway at night~
The Impala zoomed quietly down the dark road. Dean was driving, Jo was in the seat behind him. Ellen was in the passenger seat, and Sam and (M/n) were in the back with Jo.
"Boy, you, you really weren't kidding about flying out, were you?"
Ellen gave no reaction. The three in the back exchange looks.
"How about we listen to some music?" Dean turned on the radio.
"You're as cold as ice..." Ellen turns off the radio.
~Roadhouse~
Ellen storms in, dragging Jo by the elbow. The three boys follow.
"Ellen? This is my fault. Okay? I lied to you and I'm sorry. But Jo did good out there, I think her dad would be proud." Dean said.
"Don't you dare say that. Not you. I need a moment with my daughter. Alone."
The boys go outside.
"You're angry. I understand."
"Angry? Angry doesn't begin to touch it."
"Lets just think about this. Everything's okay, I'm alive..."
"Not after I'm through with you."
"Is this about me hunting, or something else?"
"You let those boys use you as bait!"
"They were right there, backing me up the whole time."
"That is why you do not have the sense to do this job, you're trusting your life to them."
"What are you talking about?"
"Like father, like sons, that is what 'm talking about."
"John? I thought you and John were friends." Jo said, confused about what was going on.
Yeah, we were, I'm sorry, I didn't mean...."
"Mom? What are you telling me?"
~Outside~
The Sam and Dean were leaning on the Impala, (M/n) was sitting on the hood, as Jo comes storming out. She glared at Dean and keeps walking, he follows.
"That bad, huh?"
"Not right now."
"What happened? Hey, talk to me."
"Get off me!"
"Sorry. See you around." He turned to leave.
"Dean. It turns out my dad had a partner on his last hunt. Funny, he usually worked alone, this guy did too, but...I guess my father figured he could trust him. Mistake. Guy screwed up, got my dad killed." Jo said.
"What does this have to do with-"
"It was your father, Dean."
"What?"
"Why do you think John never came back? Never told you about us? Because he couldn't look my mom in the eye after that, that's why."
"Jo."
"Just...just get out of here. Please, just leave."

Trying to balance between living a normal life and making a statement that puts him as the face of evolvers. (This is an apocalypse story and those used to reading my unfinished stories. Then this is similarly a slow roasted story. This is also just second draft. Sorry for the mistakes, I started this when I was in the hospital for my knee and hip surgery.)
8 191Blue Stars ★ |R.L|
