《Mon Cheri (Solangelo AU)》Chapter 1

"Boarding school sucks." Cecil complained, yet again, twirling in his desk chair, as Will Solace tried to focus on his homework. Eventually, he decided to give up on it and turned to Cecil, his roommate. Cecil was an African American with startling blue eyes and mop of dirty blond hair.
"Yes it does my friend."
"I mean, I know I stole a couple video games but they were only 5 bucks each!" Cecil said, exasperated, and threw his hands in the air.
Will laughed, "You snuck into Big Lots at three in the morning and stole around six boxes of 20 video games each."
"And I would have gotten away with it too if they didn't have cameras." Cecil stood from the chair and dropped, face first, onto his bed.
Another bark of laughter escaped Will, "It's a store, of course it had cameras Cecil." He chuckled a bit more, "I'm surprised your parents sent you here instead of military school after they convinced the judge not to send you to juvie, this isn't exactly a school for delinquents."
"Whatever, I'm tired." His voice was muffled by his comforter. Then he crawled under his blankets. "Wake me up when September ends."
"September just began." Will pointed out as he rolled his eyes.
"Exactly. Now shut up and let me sleep."
Not too long after he said that, Will heard his snoring and decided he should sleep too. The homework could be finished during lunch, since the only homework he had left was for a class after lunch.
Will took his pajamas and changed into them in the bathroom, brushed his teeth and climbed into his own bed, across from Cecil's. It didn't take long for him to fall asleep either.

Will heard Cecil's hand come down on the alarm clock and it shut off instantly. But Cecil didn't get up, he wasn't a morning person. Will, on the other hand, was a morning person and he easily got out of bed and grabbed his stuff to shower and get ready. When he did, Cecil was still in bed and he laughed. "Lazy ass."
Cecil grunted in response but didn't do much else.
Will rolled his eyes but smiled, "Well I'm heading over to breakfast." He grabbed his backpack and walked out, not before calling out to Cecil, "And hurry up or you'll miss breakfast, again."

As he made his way down the hall, he bumped into Jason. They were friends but they didn't talk much. Lucky him too, because Jason didn't have a roommate and didn't have to share. And it was the only spot left if another guy wanted to join the school.
"Hey dude," Jason greeted, "Where's Cecil?"
"Same as always."
"Just woke up?"
"Yep." They both laughed.
Further down the hall, they met up with Frank, Grover, Percy and Leo. That being because the very top floor was the boys rooms, the fifth floor. The one under that, the fourth floor, was the girls rooms. The two under that, the third and second floor were classrooms. And the very first floor was the dining room, library, kitchen, living area and a game room that was usually off limits until the weekends. But then of course there was a basement, where the staff lived, if they wanted to. Since the school was an old mansion, it was pretty roomy and awesome.
It became a school years ago, almost right after it was built. Will didn't exactly know the year it was built but he knew it was built by a Prometheus Titan. Pretty cool last name. He was from Greece and ran from there to escape imprisonment, again. He'd been imprisoned before but some dude helped him escape. And since he was pretty rich, he built this mansion in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by a forest and a river with a lake. Although, soon after his death, his wife became lonely, the house was too big for just herself, so she turned it into a boarding school. Even though the fee wasn't much, the school still became very prestigious. It didn't take long to fill up after it was opened. Since then, Olympus School has been open. Named in honour of Mount Olympus back in Greece where they were originally from.
Anyway, as they made their way down, they laughed and joked around but before they reached the first floor, the boys and girls separated to go with their respective boyfriends and girlfriends. That left Will, Lou and Reyna.
"Well girls, let's get breakfast shall we?" Will ran down the last flight of stairs, "It won't stay hot forever."

They hurried behind him and grabbed their breakfast. It was like a buffet. Egg, bacon, vegan pancakes, pancakes, waffles, vegan waffles, sausage, soy sausage, fruit, the likes. They grabbed their food and sat at their usual table by a window overlooking the back yard. All the tables were round and wooden, with wooden chairs. The administrators tried to go for a King Arthur kind of thing and thought it'd keep the teenagers from arguing over sitting at the top or end of the tables. Like they really cared. Although, now that Will thought about it, they probably would have fought over it.
"Hey, what should we -"
"Morning peasants!" Cecil joined them then just as they started eating and Lou tried to say something. He sat between Reyna and Lou, who was sitting by Will and Will sat by Reyna.
"Don't speak. I'm not in the mood." Reyna shot him one of her infamous glares. He recoiled. Nobody liked being on the other end of those.
"You said it, Your Majesty." The little group rarely called her by her name. Since they met and decided she could be an excellent queen and ruler by her sense of authority and she was fair, so they called her Your Majesty or Queen or the Queen. It fit even more perfectly because her name in English literally meant queen. Though Will didn't recommend you got on her bad side. It was not pleasant.
So they stopped talking for a bit to let her calm down and so she wouldn't rip their heads off one by one.
"Soo." Lou looked up from her food. "As I tried to say before, what are our plans for tomorrow and Sunday to celebrate our survival of the first week of school? I have an idea if any of you don't." They had a little tradition since they met, as well, to celebrate their first week back in school and the last week. And they hadn't planned anything yet.
"Netflix and snacks at Cecil and I's room?" Will offered.
"Well my idea," Lou said again. "Was that but something else beforehand."
"And that being...?" Cecil asked between bites.
"Well, we could go out all day Saturday. We could do random stuff all day and stay out late. And as punishment they'd make us stay in all day Sunday so we could get together then." Lou smiled and looked proud of her plan. She looked around the table but her eyes would never quite reach Reyna. Hmm. Weird, Will thought.
I smiled, "Sounds good. We all agree?"
Cecil smiled, and he didn't look away from his food when he did, "Why not? We've done worse other years."
And that they had. Will laughed aloud as he thought of that. Sophomore year seemed off to a good start. And it got better with Lou's next words.
"On a side note, have you guys heard about a new student joining us sometime today?"
"Really?" Cecil asked.
"Yep. He'll be rooming with Jason."
"Finally!" Cecil exclaimed, "It was so unfair that we had to share but he didn't just because his daddy's the headmaster."
"Dumbass," Reyna hissed, "There was just no other boy to room with him. It has nothing to do with Headmaster Zeus."
Will chuckled. "Well its not that bad having a roommate. Although maybe that's cuz I've got my best friend as my roommate."
Cecil laughed. "Very true my man."
Will saw Reyna roll her eyes but smile a little nonetheless, "So what else did you want to tell us about him?"
"Something surprising. Sort of." Lou shrugged.
"So what is it?"
"It's Hazel's half brother. They met last summer remember? When he'd convinced her to come here. She'd taken the last opening for the girls." She paused to finish up her waffles. "And well he's Italian, but he's lived in the US since he was 10."
"Cool" was all Reyna replied with. Her curiosity was quenched for the time being.
But as Will took the last bite of his own food he asked, "So what's his name?" On the other hand he'd gotten incredibly curious with only that information.
"Nico di Angelo."
And at that moment, a boy with flippy black as night hair, dark chocolate eyes and pale skin walked into the dining room. He seemed to have heard his name and he looked right at Will as he stared openly.

Shadowcroft Academy for Dungeons: Year One
Build a Dungeon. Slay Heroes. Survive Finals. Wounded Army vet Logan Murray thought mimics were the stuff of board games and dungeon manuals… right up until one ate him. In a flash of snapping teeth, Logan suddenly finds himself on the doorstep to another world. He’s been unwittingly recruited into the Shadowcroft Academy for Dungeons—the most prestigious interdimensional school dedicated to training the monstrous guardians who protect the Tree of Souls from so-called heroes. Heroes who would destroy the universe if it meant a shot at advancement. Unfortunately, as a bottom-tier cultivator with a laughably weak core, Logan’s dungeon options aren’t exactly stellar, and he finds himself reincarnated as a lowly fungaloid, a three-foot-tall mass of spongy mushroom with fewer skills than a typical sewer rat. If he’s going to survive the grueling challenges the academy has in store, he’ll need to ace the odd assortment of classes—Fiendish Fabrication, Dungeon Feng Shui, the Ethics of Murder 101—and learn how to turn his unusual guardian form into an asset instead of a liability. And that’s only if the gargoyle professor doesn’t demote him to a doomed wandering monster first…

Eater of Spirits
Story is abandoned. There will be no more updates on it. Jarod is kind of a loser, as it goes with these stories. A tear in his reality pulls him into another world, where he gains the ability to devour spirits, the locus of magic within the world. This is far from my first foray into fiction, but it is my first time posting anything to royal road, and first time writing LitRPG. This is an exercise in putting things out there, and just writing. That means that all of this is going to be a first draft, where edits may come sparsely if there is a glaring issue or something I think should be better. Thanks for reading!
