(Yugi's POV)

*The next day...*

That fateful day, I brought my Millennium Puzzle to my highschool. There, me and my friend Teá were trying to solve it. "Hey, shrimp! Did you get our homework done, yet?!" Joey Wheeler shouted as he entered the room.

"Y-Yes, Joey..." I said, giving Joey his and Triston's homework.

"What's this?" Triston said as he picked up the semi-completed Milennium Puzzle, took it apart, and threw a piece out the window.

"Why the hell did you do that?! That was Yugi's property! You best hope you run fast!" Teá yelled.

They ran away shouting, "Damn you, Teá!"

"Thanks, Teá. I'll see you later," I said and walked out of the room when the bell rang.

Outside, a student from the morals committee named Ushio gave me the puzzle Triston threw and said, "I believe this is yours."

"It is! Thanks, Ushio!" I said happily.

"Yugi, are you being bullied? By anyone, anyone at all." Ushio asked.

"Joey Wheeler and Triston Taylor." I replied honestly.

"Alright. I'll...deal with them for you," Ushio replied.

"Thanks, Ushio!" I replied happily.

"Your welcome! See you tomorrow, Yugi!" Ushio replied.

*The next day, after school...*

"Hey, Yugi! Come here, I wanna show you something!" Ushio shouted at me.

"Alright, Ushio!" I replied, jogging to follow him.

Ushio brought me to an ally between buildings and I saw Joey and Triston sitting there, bleeding from their broken noses. "Why did you do this?! I'm the only who gets to hurt the people who hurt me! Now, leave them alone! I have enough money to sick the military on you ten times over!" I yelled, seceretly scared.

"Ahahahahahahaha! Don't make me laugh! You couldn't hurt a fly, even if you wanted to! You're weak! Oh, I'll take my payment now! ¥1200K!" Ushio shouted.

"1,200,000 yen?!" I yelled back.

"Yes! Here's a warning, you delinquent!" Ushio said, and he began to punch and kick me until I spat up blood. "This pain is nothing. My pistol could show you the rue meaning of pain," Ushio said as he took out a 99mm pistol. "Being it to me tonight at midnight! Remember: ¥1200K!" Ushio yelled.

At least Joey and Triston are going to stop bullying me. I thought.

*Later that night...*

"G-Granfather?" I stuttered, terrified of his reaction.

"What is it, now?" Grandpa asked in return.

"I...I'm being threatened by a school bully and I need to bring him ¥1,200,000 at midnight," I said, looking down.

"Yugi, I...you can have it. Just... be carful, okay?" Grandpa said, concern seeping into his voice.

"I will, Grandfather. Thank you," I said and Grandpa gave me the ¥1200K.

That night I worked furiously on the puzzle. I eventually finished it. And then...I blacked out.

(Yami's POV)

"It seems someone named Ushio is threatening my master. I can't have that." I said and went out to face Ushio.

(Ushio's POV)

"Where's that runt?" I said as I lit my cigarette.

"Good of you to come, Ushio-san," Yugi said, sitting atop a brick fence.

"So you desided to show up. Now, pay the ¥12K!" I replied.

"Only if you win this game!" Yugi yelled, revealing a rectangular game board with a place to get tge pieces out. "It's called "Senet"! It's a game that was played in Ancient Egypt by pharaohs and peasents alike. It was also known as "The Game of Passing". Here are the rules: A Senet board consisted of three rows of ten squares set in a rectangle. In one corner, the square that is assumed to be the final square has a single stroke, the next one along in the row, two strokes, the next one three strokes, the next a diagonal cross and the fifth one along a symbol with a circle and cross. It is assumed that these were squares 26 to 30 of a 30 square track that started in the opposite corner, went along one row, travelled back down the middle row and finished along the row ending in these special squares. Square 15 also often contained a symbol and was called the House of Rebirth while square 26 with a cross and circle symbol is known as the House of Happiness and square 27 with the cross is known as the House of water.

Each person has five pieces of contrasting hue or contrasting pattern. The movements of the pieces are determined by the throw of four split twigs with a dark face on one side and a light face on the other (binary lots). Pieces are placed on the first ten squares of the first row with the colours alternating. Players take turns to move a single piece per throw of the split twigs viz:

0 light faces up - 5 and an extra throw1 light face up - 1 and an extra throw2 light faces up 23 light faces up 34 light faces up 4 and an extra throw. A square can only be occupied by one piece at a time. If no pieces can move, the turn is passed. If a piece lands on an opposing piece, the opposing piece is moved back to the square that the attacking piece started the move from.

The House of Happiness cannot be passed over. Every piece must land upon it before preceding onward. The House of water is to be avoided - when a piece lands on this square, the piece is returned to the House of Rebirth.

Pieces can only bear off the final three squares by throwing the number indicated on the square.

The first player to bear all pieces off the board wins. Got it?" Yugi asked.

"I think so..." I replied.

"Good! Let's play!" Yugi replied.

*1 hour later...*

"Ha! You lose, Ushio-san!" Yugi said triumphantly.

"Wha...how did I lose?" I asked.

"You were too focused on the object of your greed: my wallet! Now you'll receive a penelty game!" Yugi shouted and an Ancient Egyptian style eye appeared on his forehead.

"Wha-an eye...on his forehead?" I asked no one.

"MIND CRUSH!" Yugi shouted and I blacked out...forever.

(Yugi's POV)

*The next day...*

"Last night, police officials reported finding 17 year old Tetsu Ushio in a coma at around two in the morning. Medical officials are saying that the coma was most likely caused by shock and that it may be permanent. In other news, a murderer who goes by 777 was arrested on the carges of mass murder and attempted homicide," a male newscaster said as I ate my breakfast with Grandpa.

"So, Yugi, I see that you solved the Millennium Puzzle. How did the confrontation with Ushio go?" Gramdpa asked.

"I found him lying there and called the police to help him," I said.

"Even though he threatened you? Good job, Yugi! You can keep the money!" Grandpa said and he SMILED at me. He actually SMILED.

"Thanks, Grandfather! Oh, I've gotta go. I promised Teá that we'd shop together. Godbye, Grandfather!" I yelled, grabbing my bag and putting on my shoes.

"Have a good day, Yugi!" Grandpa replied.
