You stood next to your sister as you both stared out the window of the room you were in.. The sun was setting and the buildings started to glow with nightlife. You both wore black dresses, hair done up, and the usual makeup. Jar Jar walked over to you and Padmé.
"Yousa tinking Sousa people ganna die?" he quietly asked you both.
"We don't know." Padmé answered as you both stared straight ahead. You both were worried and stressed for your people and Naboo.
"Gungan get pasted too, eh?"
"We hope not." you answered this time. You wish Anakin was here with you and help you through this. It was weird to not talk to him and spend time with him like you guys did on Tatooine. You felt awful and for blocking him off from your Force connection and extremely exhausted from the constant concentration of blocking it.
"Gungans no dyin' without a fight." Jar Jar said with determination in his voice. "Wesa warriors. Wesa got a grand army. Dat's why you no liken us, mesa thinks."
Both you or Padmé could respond, the Captain and Palpatine walked in.
"Your Highnesses?" he called out as you and Padmé turned around. He smiled and bowed at you and Padmé. "Your Highnesses. Senator Palpatine has been nominated to succeed Valorum as supreme chancellor."
"A surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one." Palpatine added. You and Padmé did not show any emotion as you both walked to the other side of the room. "Your majesty, if I am elected, I promise to put an end to corruption."
"Who else has been nominated?" Padmé asked.
"Bail Antilles of Aleraan and Ainlee Teem of Malastare." Captain answered.
"I feel confident our situation will create a strong sympathy vote for us. I will be chancellor." Palpatine declared.
"I fear by the time you have control of the bureaucrats, Senator, there'll be nothing left of our people, our way of life." you retorted, being a little harsh than you meant to be. Palpatine sat down in a nearby chair as you stood where you are and Padmé paced around.

"I understand your concern, Your Majesty." he said to you. "Unfortunately, the Federation has possession of our planet." Palpatine added as you both looked at Padmé, who had stopped pacing and rested her hands on the meeting table behind you.
"Senator, this is your arena. I feel we must return to ours." Padmé said Palpatine realized what she was saying. You had already knew and figured what she would want to do. You wanted to return to Naboo too.
"Go back? But, your Majesty, be realistic. They'll force you both to sign the treaty." Palpatine said as he stood up from his seat.
"We will sign no treaty, Senator." Padmé said as she walked over to you. You both then walked over to the Captain. "Our faith will be no different than that of our people."
"We are needed there more than we are here." you added.
"Captain. Ready our ship." Padmé ordered as you both walked towards the ship docks, the Captain and Jar Jar following behind.
"Please, Your Majesties, stay here where it's safe." Palpatine pleaded. You and Padmé swiftly turned around to him.
"It's clear to us now that the Republic no longer functions. We pray you will bring sanity and compassion back to the senate." Padmé said before turning back around and walking away.
"Do not fail us, Senator Palpatine." you said with a hint of sass at the end. He was not going to stop you and Padmé. You turned around and followed your sister out.

"The Force is strong with him."
Anakin, Qui-Gon, and Obi-Wan stood in the center of the Jedi Council room and the Council all sat in their seats.
"He is to be trained then?" Qui-Gon asked.
"No, he will not be trained." Windu answered.
"No?" Qui-Gon questioned in confusion. Anakin remained silent as he had a stern look on his face.
"He is too old." Windu simply replied.
"He is the chosen one. You must see it." Qui-Gon argued.
"Mmm. Clouded this boy's future is." Yoda said. Qui-Gon sighed, deep in thought as he weighed his options. Anakin is the chosen one and must be trained. Why couldn't the Jedi Council see that?

"I will train him, then." Qui-Gon declared as he stepped towards Anakin and placed his hands on his shoulders. "I take Anakin as my Padawan learner."
"An apprentice you have, Qui-Gon." Yoda reminded. "Impossible to take a second."
"The code forbids it." Windu added.
"Obi-Wan is ready." Qui-Gon argued.
"I am ready to face the trials." Obi-Wan finally spoke up.
"Our own counsel we will keep on who is ready." Yoda countered.
"He is headstrong and he has much to learn of the living Force, but he is capable. There's little more he can learn from me." Qui-Gon informed of Obi-Wan's growth.
"Young Skywalker's faith will be decided later." Yoda responded.
"Now is not the time for this." Windu explained as he leaned forward from his seat. "The senate is voting for a new supreme chancellor and Queen Amidala and Princess Amidala is returning home, which will put pressure on the federation and could widen the confrontation."
"And draw out the queen's and princess's attacker." Ki-Adi added.
"Go with the queen and princess to Naboo and discover the identity of this dark warrior." Windu ordered Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan. "This is the clue we need to unravel the mystery of the Sith."
"May the Force be with you." Yoda said. Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan, and Anakin all bowed before leaving the room.
~
"It's not disrespect, Master. It's the truth." Obi-Wan said to his Master as they walked around the ship. The crew was currently loading it up for the journey back to Naboo.
"From your point of view." Qui-Gon retorted.
"The boy is dangerous and they would have said the same about the girl if she was there. Her fate is just as uncertain as his. They all sense it. Why can't you?" Obi-Wan continued. Qui-Gon abruptly stopped in his tracks and turned to his Padawan.
"Their fate is uncertain. They're not dangerous." Qui-Gon said sternly. "The council will decide Anakin's future. ____ will decide her own and the council will then decide for her if she chooses the path of the Jedi. That should be enough for you. Now get on board."
Obi-Wan did not say anything as he turned around to board the ship. Qui-Gon turned to his side and saw R2 and Anakin standing there.
"Qui-Gon, sir, I don't want to be a problem. And I'm sure ___ wouldn't want to be one either." Anakin said quietly as he walked towards the Jedi Master.
"You won't be, Ani. Neither will ___." Qui-Gon said warmly to the boy as he kneeled down to Ani's height. "I'm not allowed to train you, so I want you to watch me and be mindful. Always remember your focus determines your reality. Stay close to me and you'll be safe."
"Master, sir," Anakin said, "I heard Yoda talking about midi-chlorians. I've been wondering... What are midi-chlorians?"
"Midi-chlorians are a microscopic life-form that resides within all living cells." Qui-Gon simply explained.
"They live inside me and ___?"
"Inside your cells, yes. And we are symbionts with them."
"Symbionts?"
"Life-forms living together for mutual advantage. Without the midi-chlorians, life could not exist and we would have no knowledge of the Force. They continually speak to us, telling us the will of the Force. When you learn to quiet your mind, you'll hear them speaking to you."
"I don't understand." Anakin said as he shook his head in confusion.
"With time and training, Ani, you will. You will." Qui-Gon reassured as he stood up as you and Padmé walked towards the ship. "Your Majesties, it is our pleasure to continue to serve and protect you."
"We welcome your help." Padmé answered. You glanced sadly at Anakin as he placed a hand on R2 and followed behind you all to the ship. He was searching for you, but couldn't find you. "Senator Palpatine features that the Federation means to destroy us."
"I assure you I will not allow that to happen." Qui-Gon promised as you all entered the ship.
"Wesa goin HOOOOMME!!" Jar Jar cheered as he entered the ship.
"Come on, R2!" Anakin said as entered the ship.

There for the first time, he will make true friends and find people he will come to see as family. He will encounter strong enemies, build powerful alliances, and become a person his ancestors would be proud of. But surrounded by creatures he thought only existed in tales and pressed by the Empire’s constant expansion, Jayce’s safety may be only an illusion. To survive a world fraught with danger Jayce will need to grow stronger with each new experience and rebuild his once forgotten house. ********************************************************************** Note: The story starts slow. Although there is more action as the story progresses, there is a fair amount of introspection and character introduction in the first 30 chapters. Jayce is the main character, however, other characters play a large role and the story is seen through multiple POV's. This is a draft, it is not a finished work. This is not a story that focuses on an OP MC who beats up on weaklings. At times there can be a fair amount of internal monologue. Some of that may be edited out when I rewrite the story. I decided to keep it in the draft because I think it is better to have too much material rather than too little when I edit. Constructive criticism is appreciated as it helps in the editing and rewriting process. Check out my other story Shattered Mind here
