《If You'll Be My Star (Anakin x Reader) BOOK TWO *COMPLETED*》Seven

The droid opened a canastir of that released three toxic centipede-like creatures into your room. They fell gently on your floor and slithered their way towards your bed, where you were still sound asleep. They didn't trigger the laser system R2 has set up. They made their way up your bed and R2 woke up. Feeling a disturbance in the Force that surrounded you, you too woke up. R2 beeped as you sat up and looked around. The toxic creatures had stopped and camouflaged with your blankets. R2 turned on its flashlight and looked around as well.
"See anything?" you asked the loyal droid. R2-D2 hummed in response and you relaxed a little. R2 shut down again as you snuggled back into your blankets. You glanced around one last time, still uneasy as sleep took over once again.
The creatures made their way towards you again, getting dangerously close to your neck.

"And besides, you're generalizing." Anakin stated to his Master. He and Obi-Wan were talking about you and how Anakin needed to be careful around you; not only as a fellow Jedi, but as a politician as well. Obi-Wan told Anakin that senators shouldn't be trusted and that included you. Even though you were a Jedi and considered a dear friend, Obi-Wan was still wary from his past experience with senators. But Anakin knew you, you were completely different from politicians and other Jedi.
"The chancellor doesn't appear to be corrupt." Anakin also pointed out.
"Palpatine is a politician. I have observed that he is very clever in following the passions and the prejudices of the senators." Obi-Wan said.
"I think he's a good man. My--" Anakin said when both Obi-Wan and he felt a disturbance in the Force. Anakin quickly turned around and looked towards your room.
"I sense it too." Obi-Wan said worriedly as he and Anakin ran to your room. Anakin rushed in first and ignited his lightsaber. The blue saber slashed the two toxic creatures crawling by your head as you woke up from Anakin jumping onto your bed. You let out a gasp you quickly sat up. You looked up and saw the third creature crawling by Anakin's foot. You used the Force to get your lightsaber off of your desk and into your hand. You ignited it and slashed the creature crawling near Anakin's foot. He looked down and back at you. Anakin's worry was strong and was all you felt through your connection.

"I'm okay." you said as Obi-Wan noticed the droid outside your window. He ran towards it and crashed through your window and dangled off of the droid as it tried to escape.
"Stay here!" Anakin exclaimed to you as quickly got up. You and Anakin clipped your lightsabers to your belt.
"Like stars I will!" you said back as you ran out with him. You both ran past Padmè and the security.
"___!" Padmè called out to you as you ignored her and the security guards and ran out to the cruisers and speeders.
"You'll get in a lot of trouble for not staying behind." Anakin pointed out.
"I don't care about that." you replied. "I much rather catch this assassin myself than sit around and wait."
Anakin smirked at your response and you gave him a questioning look. You both hopped into a yellow speeder, Anakin taking the pilot seat as you took the passenger. There was an empty bench seat behind you both for Obi-Wan when you and Anakin caught up to him.
"I didn't expect the Jedi Senator to have such a feisty, rebellious side." Anakin laughed as he started the speeder.
"Perhaps there are many things you don't know about me." you said with a smirk as Anakin took off.
"Then I would like to get to know the things I don't know." Anakin smirked back. Every passing second, every word spoken between you two, you felt the Force Connection getting stronger. You felt Anakin's playfulness of the conversation and his seriousness. He was serious about getting to know you again, to be as close as you both once was.
"I would like that too." you smiled as you both rushed through the traffic of Coruscant.
~
Anakin sped through the traffic in the direction you both last saw Obi-Wan. A thought crossed your mind that made you smile to yourself. Anakin glanced over at you, feeling your sudden happiness.
"What's got you so happy?" Anakin asked curiously. He couldn't help but smile himself. Feeling your happiness and seeing your smile, it made him so happy.
"Just a thought crossed my mind." you simply answered, keeping your eyes out for Obi-Wan and purposely not meeting Anakin's.
"Ah," Anakin began to say, "you can't keep anything from me. I feel your happiness."

You chuckled at Anakin's statement, because it was true, before answering him. " I cannot keep anything from you, Ani.I was thinking about that time we piloted a speeder on Naboo when we were nine. This is just reminding me of that."
"We are in a very similar situation." Anakin said, his smile growing. It didn't need to be said, but it felt so natural and right to be together again on a mission. Even if your life was in danger, this moment of happiness with each other was worthwhile. Anakin was going to say something else when you pointed above the speeder.
"Look, there he is!" you shouted as you saw the assassin shoot down the droid from a balcony and jump into a speeder of their own. Obi-Wan was freefalling down into the traffic. "Ani!"
"I'm on it!" Anakin responded as he sped up the speeder. You got up and moved to the back seat so Obi-Wan could guide Ani in the front when he joined you both. He tilted the speeder down as you held onto the back of his seat. He got underneath Obi-Wan and tilted back up. With your guidance, Anakin slowed down the speeder and positioned the speeder where Obi-Wan safely landed in the passenger seat.
"What took you so long? And why is ___ here, chasing after her assassin?" Obi-Wan asked as he looked between you and Anakin.
"Oh, you know, Master." Anakin answered sarcastically. "I couldn't find a speeder that I really liked."
Not amused, Obi-Wan looked at his Padawan. "And you thought bringing ___ along was a good idea??"
"It's not his fault. I chose to come." you answered as Obi-Wan looked at you.
"Your Master will not be pleased." Obi-Wan answered before pointing at a speeder. "There he is."
"And because she came, I had to find a speeder that's open and can fit three people. With the right speed capabilities." Anakin continued to explain as he followed the speeder Obi-Wan pointed out.
"If you spent as much time practicing your saber techniques as you do your wit, you would rival Master Yoda as a swordsman." Obi-wan mocked as Anakin pulled up and Obi-Wan leaned back. He held on tightly to the dashboard.
"I thought I already did." Anakin smirked back. You laughed at Anakin being so confident in his skills. Anakin began to weave in and out of traffic, He turned the speeder to its side at one point.
"Only in your mind, my very young apprentice." Obi-Wan replied as he looked over to you. "I suggest you hold onto something, ___. Anakin's flying is a little.. unconventional."
You didn't reply as you held onto the back of Anakin's seat as he pointed the speeder vertical to the ground and sped even faster. You were catching up to the assassin's speeder. Anakin smiled and laughed from the adrenaline and joy of the ride. You couldn't help but smile too as Obi-Wan panicked. The speeder was getting dangerously close to a building.
"Pull up, Anakin. Pull up!" Obi-Wan ordered as Anakin pulled the speeder back to its normal position before it could hit the building. Anakin continued on the chase. "You know I don't like it when you do that."
"Sorry, Master. I forgot you don't like flying." Anakin apologized, but a smile was still on his face. It only grew bigger when he turned around and saw you were enjoying the chase as much as he was. "___ seems to be enjoying my flying."
"I don't mind flying, but what you are doing is suicide and ____ hasn't had as many near death experiences with your flying as I have." Obi-Wan countered.
You and Anakin only laughed as he followed the speeder into a power plant. You felt the heat of the flames being released. The assassin pulled out a blaster and shot down one of the power couplings. You saw the red blaster beam hit the purple electricity.
"Ani.." you said as Anakin started to head right to it.
"Anakin! How many times have I told you-- Ah!" Obi-Wan scolded before Anakin went through the purple electricity. You yelped in pain as the three of you were shocked. "To stay away from power couplings!" Obi-Wan finished as the pain of the shocking went away. You like out a sigh as you recover from the pain.
"Yeah, next time dodge that please." you breathed out.
"Sorry Master and ___." Anakin apologized as the pursuit continued.
