《Hey Pretty Stranger Sal Fisher x reader x Larry Johnson》Chapter 6 - Dinner with the neighbors.

Dear Diary,
Hi again... Okay, so just cutting to the chase, I need to get something off my chest. I may or may not have a teeny tiny crush on blueberry head. Yes, I know, I'm completley and utterly insane for like The Sal Fisher. But I can't help it! He's just so pretty even though I can't even see his face, but his personality is pretty too. Well, was pretty I guess...cause, you see, today on my first day of school
(at Nockfell) him and his friend kinda, sorta chased me down the hallways a million times and I think they were almost about to kill me and sure, Sal did eventually stop it but still. Just for him to even let that happen in the first place broke my heart. I thought he was actually a pretty "okay" guy, even though he did push me up against and elevator wall, but honestly that just got my heart beating in a good way. I don't know, maybe it's cause I'm not aloud to 'rebel' so maybe the thrill of doing that kind of stuff and being with someone dangerous got my blood pumping and the thrill felt good. But I am not going to fall for two guys who just tried to *I think* kill me.
Never. Ever.
I got to go before some teacher spots me out here. Bye future me ♡︎
Okay...now what do I do? I'm sitting outside my school when I'm suppose to be in class. How am I going to explain this to my parents when they find out?
What would they think of me...
I'm toast, I can say goodbye to the outside world, for I shall be locked up, in my room, For the rest. Of. My. Life.
'Maybe I should just, go home, and tell mom what happened.'
No. Well - maybe - it would save me from alot of trouble if I actually explained why I am ditching my classes. Because god forbid if my father finds out, and he probably will, he'll never let me get a word out to explain myself!
I should just tell mom, and then she can explain it to him whilst I'm in my room sulking and staring at my wall or ceiling.
I let out a sad sigh and descide I should just go straight home...there is absoloutly no explaining this. Atleast not the true explanation...
'I need to think of a lie, and fast. '
I can't just tell them straight up, like how would that go down?
"Hey mom, hey dad! Want to actually know why I didn't go to class? Oh that's simple, it's cause of these two guys that chased me around and tried to beat the crap out of me multiple times!"
They would probably run their mouths about them and get them expelled or something, then those dudes would really have it in for me. And I'd be slaughtered in my sleep. Or in broad day light, I don't think they really care.
My breathing begins to quicken as the apartments begin to come more and more into view. Oh god. What am I going to do!?
'Use that brain of yours Y/N!'
If I was in a cartoon right now a light bulb would be above my head, indicating an idea popped into my head. It's not that good, but it could work.
I reach the apartments and slowly trudge through the main doors, I wait for the elevator doors to open before I get in. Once inside I press floor '4' and stand there.

The doors finally ding open after a minute or two and I continue to slowly walk to my apartment number again.
I'm beginning to dread my decision of coming home, but there was no other way to go about this.
I finally make it to my room...room '403'.
I stand outside the door for awhile, just thinking.
'Maybe I should re-think this? No. I should just do it and get it over with. On the count of three...one...two...three!'
I push open my front door to see my mom sitting in the living room watching TV. Watching some old western film. Well, was watching an old western film. Now she's staring directly at me with shock and confusion written all over her face.
"Y/N! What are you doing home? And why is your makeup smudged?"
She said in a gentle voice but stern enough to keep you in check.
"AHH..hhhhh...hey, mom."
I tried to play it off cool and looked at her with a nervous smile plastered on my face as I close the door with my left hand, not even facing the door.
"Explain. Right now."
Mom looked furious, and if looks could kill I'd be dead.
"Uh- okay, um. So- basically-"
I was going to tell her my lie but it is so difficult! I have never lied and now that I'm actually trying to...let's just say, it's alot harder than I thought.
"Spit it out, Y/N."
Mom continued to glare at me as she stood up from the couch and walked towards me; finally stopping just a few feet away from me.
Taking a deep breath, I sigh, and figure I should just let the truth out.
But before I could, my nerves got to me and my brain blurted out the original lie I was going to use, for me.
"I was looking for the main office but got lost and there was no one around for me to ask for help because everyone was in their classes and I got all nervous and embarrassed so I ran out of the school and all the way here..."
I rambled out with a 'please believe me' smile taking in a huge breath as I finish blurting out my lie.
My moms eyes soften, she's always known me as an anti-social type of kid. Never approaching other kids, getting shy and anxiety written.
She makes an 'awe' sound then walks up to me and pulling me in a hug.
She grabs my arm gently after pulling away from the hug and begins tugging my arm to direct me to the living rooms couch.
She sits both of us down and begins one of her famous 'pep talks'.
"Sweetie, I understand that your having a tuff time with your new home, new school, new life, but...I need you to try okay?"
"I do try mom...it's just so hard."
I defend with a pout now looking at the ground as I internally smirk.
I never thought my acting was this good.
"I know darling, but I mean really try, like super duper hard."
She smiles at me.
"Look at me sweetheart."
I slowly tilt my head up to look at her and she contiues.
"I wont punish you this time but pull anything like this again and you will be grounded for life."
Mom giggles at the end of her sentence, but you know she's not joking.

"And your father and I are always a phone call away. You know that right?"
"Yeah, I know..."
I smile glancing at the floor then back to her.
"Good. Now I need to start making dinner."
She smiles and gets up from the couch.
Wait, dinner? At 1:56pm?
"Mom, why are you making dinner so early?"
I question. She answers me whilst gathering all the food and ingrediants she'll need to make whatever it is she's making.
"Because the food will take a little while to cook, we are having chicken with mash potatoes and a salade."
"Wow, what's the big occasion?"
"Occasion? What do you mean?"
Now it's my moms turn to question me.
"Well, you only make big dinners like this when it's my birthday or something special happened. So, what's the occasion?"
I explain to her, to which she finally turns to look at me.
"Well, I wouldn't really call it an 'occasion' more of just a good first impression."
Okay now she just has me more confused.
"What?"
"Did you already forget? The neighbors?"
Mom giggles and shakes her head.
"The neighbors...?"
I gesture my hand in a way to say 'go on'.
"You seriously don't know? I thought I told your father to tell you."
"Well, knowing dad, if he had the option to talk to me or go to work, he obviously wouldn't have taken the first option."
"Y/N."
"What? It's true, and you know it."
I fold my arms across my chest and lean more into the couch.
"You know he means well, and that he loves you. Very much."
"Yeah sure, anyway, what about the neighbors?"
"Oh yes, they will be coming over for dinner."
"Wait which neighbors, room 404 or 402?"
"Well not 404 considering that place is empty, the people that had lived there moved out just last week."
Okay...so that means, the neighbors in 402...coolio.
Wait a damn minute. 402!?
That's exactly where blueberry head lives! One of the exact people I'm hiding from!
Oh gosh, this is bad. This is really bad!
"Hey mom, I don't feel so good. I think I might have something serious. Maybe we shouldn't invite the neighbors over because I would never want them to catch it."
I lie sarcastically.
'Unless it's the plag.'
"Oh nonsense."
How is it that she sees through that but nothing else.
"Be sure to get ready at around 4pm, they will be here at 5:30."
"Yeah yeah..."
I sigh. I may look calm on the outside but on the inside I'm freaking out!
Maybe I could just hide in my room the whole time?
I turn back around to sit properly on the couch and start watching whatever western movie my mom was watching.
Waiting for that dreadful hour of 5 o'clock...
"Y/N! It's 3, go get yourself ready! And wear something nice!"
My mom yells from the kitchen, poor gal has been in there for two hours cooking away without a break. I did ask to help her but she told me to just go sit down and relax.
I get up and walk to my room at the end of the hall. I go to the far left side of my room and look through my box of records, I decide on some rock music; starting off with
'Rock You Like a Hurricane by the Scorpions'.
It starts to play and bob my head slightly as I walk to my closet.
'Hm, what to wear...'
I decide on a black dress that goes down to my feet, it has spaghetti straps and a sweet heart neckline.
I feel super confident in it, and it really excentuates my figure super nicely. Catches all my curves at the right angle no matter which way I turn.
I look in my full body mirror and smile, before turning to walk towards my vanity so I can re-do my makeup that someone ruined.
I decided to do a 'Clean' makeup look, with winged eyeliner, fake lashes, light red lip, highlighter, the whole package.
Making me look even classier:
I put my hair in a low pony tail and curl it a bit, just to give it a puffier more full look and I top it off with a big black bow.
As final touches I spray some perfume on my wrists, on the insides of my elbows, and just under my ears. Some black heals, then placing a gorgeous diamond necklace around my throat.
'If I'm going to actually have dinner with blueberry head, I may aswell impress him.'
As I'm looking at myself in the mirror; making sure I'm not missing any small details I hear quite a loud knock on the front door. It echoes through the hallway, all the way down to my room.
'Jeez, someones eager.'
I gently touch up my lipstick and peek out of my room, I see a tall man with blue hair and a blue beard standing near the living rooms entrence and he's talking to my mom.
'That's definitly sal's dad'
He's wearing a nice suit and nice shoes to go with it.
Next to him I see none other than blueberry head. Great.
I tip toe out of my room turning around and closing my door behind me, only then I begin to walk normally down the hallway and the clicks of my heels make both men turn around. Sal's eyes widen and my mom sees me too. Her eyes light up at the sight of me.
My mom is all dressed up again but in new clothes, they must have gotten dirty while she was cooking. I don't blame her, I would have been extremly surprised if she didn't spill anything on herself.
"Oh! Right, Henry, this is my beautiful daughter Y/N."
My mom walks to me and put an arm over my shoulder while smiling.
I smile awkwardly and stare at the floor.
"Hello."
Sal's dad greets with a smile.
I let out a small 'Hi,' and my mom continues.
"Y/N, this is Sal, Sal this is Y/N."
My mom greets us to eachother.
"Yes, we've met."
Sal forces a smile and he continues to stare at me.
"Oh how lovely!"
My mom gives a closed eye smile and then let's go of my shoulders.
"Why don't you two go catch up then."
"Yes, shall we?"
Sal holds and arm out. I look at him nervously and he just grins.
Mom gives me a slight shove towards him and I link arms with him.
"Yes, we shall..."
I say hestitantly.
We walk away from the two adults and into a more private area. The storage room.
I flick on the light and Sal automatically starts whisper yelling at me.
"What are you doing here!?"

8 945I Became a [Biologist] in a Fantasy World!
I loved Biology - always have, and always will. Unfortunately for me, years of fruitless research whittled away what little joy I had left in what I did. Escapism came in the form of reading isekai works, where the stresses of real life seemed so far away.Luckily, I was summoned to a fantasy world of magic, dragons, and other mythical beasts. I didn't even need to deal with the Demon Lord threat, since it seemed that my summoning was a mistake, and all they needed was the Hero who was coincidentally summoned together with me! There was no revenge subplot, no hidden trap directed against me, and they even paid me compensation for their mistake. At long last, I could finally do what I ever wanted to do - experiment for the fun of it!With my new class as a [Biologist], none of this fantasy world's mysteries will be left untouched. Even if the Demon Lord himself comes knocking, nothing will stop me from researching every nook and cranny there is to discover of the magical biology of this world! ----I write extremely casually, and purely for leisure. Updates will likely be irregular, depending on when inspiration strikes and whether I can spare the time to work on this. Don't expect too much out of this, and certainly not anything close to professional quality! Inspired by an overconsumption of Japanese light novels, manga, and anime... expect their influence to slowly but surely take hold.

From there on out, he got volunteered into the crew of the Morning Star, the pirate ship he was unfortunate enough to stumble upon. With a tree for the Captain, a dragoncat for the Quartermaster, and a human, equal in height and width, as the Cook, he sets sail across the mysterious and hostile Threshold, filled with fierce abominations, rich Ghosts, and patriotic soldiers from the Glorious Metal Empire, all to figure out what the Light has brought upon his Earth that day, and to find his way back home.
