《Youth || Klaus Mikaelson》18

I wake up and it was daylight outside. I was in a black SUV. Klaus was driving and Stefan was in the passenger seat. You look at the rear view mirror and you see Klaus staring at you, which makes you look away scared.
"Welcome back the Chicago Stefan." Klaus says parking the car, and they get out, then me.
"What are we doing here?" Stefan asks.
"I know how much you loved it here. Bringing back memories of the good old ripper days." Klaus says.
"Blacked out most of them. A lot of blood, a lot of partying. The details are all a blur." Stefan explains.
"Well, that is a crying shame. The details are what makes it legend." Klaus says and since he still scared the shit out of me, I walk away from the 2 boys and stand by the car
I see 100 text messages from Elena. She is worried and rightfully so. I text Elena and say,
"Stefan exposed me to Klaus. Somewhere in Chicago. Come." I text Elena. I see Klaus and Stefan talking and they walk over to me.
"Now I know why our hybrid problem isn't working, I need to make sure it's not anything else too. And to make sure the reason it's not working is 100% Ashley's fault. We're going to talk to a witch." Klaus says getting back in the car to go to the witch.
—
"Looks familiar, doesn't it?" Klaus asks Stefan as we walk into the bar.
"I can't believe this place is still here." Stefan says and we hear footsteps.
"You got to be kidding me." A girl walks in.
"So a hybrid walks into a bar, says to the bartender—" Klaus gets interrupted by the girl, which I think is the witch.
"Stop. You may be invincible, but that doesn't make you funny." The witch says and then looks at me. "How is she—"
"Alive?" Klaus finishes her sentence. "I have no idea. Ashley, how are you alive and well after I fed on you until your heart stopped beating?" Klaus asks, not nicely.
I just shrug my shoulders. If I told him the reason I'm alive is because Elijah helped me he would go crazy.
"I remember you." Stefan says, changing the whole kinda conversation we were having. "You're Gloria. Shouldn't you be..."
"Old and dead? Now if I die, who's going to run this place, huh?" Gloria mentions.

"Gloria's a very powerful witch." Klaus says.
"I can slow the aging down some. Herbs and spells. But don't worry, it'll catch up to me one day." Gloria says.
"Ashley, why don't you go and fix us up a little something from behind the bar." Klaus says and i roll my eyes, walking over there. I see a picture of Klaus and Stefan from 1920's.
"Stefan." I say and he looks back, along with Klaus. "You knew him?" I ask and Stefan furrows his eyebrows.
"What is this?" Stefan asks.
"Well, i told you, Stefan. Chicagos a magical place." Klaus smiles, obviously knowing something.
—
Me, Klaus and Stefan head to Stefan's old apartment back in 1920's.
"Do you feel that?" Klaus asks. "Is anybody here?"
"It's been vacant for decades. People list break in all the time. Why'd you bring me here?" Stefan asks.
"Your friend, Liam Grant, the one who drank his wife's blood— I never could figure out why you wanted his name. And then you told me your little secret. It was all part of your special little ritual." Klaus explains.
"To write it down." Stefan responds.
"And relive the kill... over and over again." Klaus says, opening a cabinet that was actually a doorway. "You believe me now?" Klaus asks and Stefan nods. "Why don't you take a look, love." Klaus looks at me and o walk in.
I sigh. I had a feeling someone was still in here, and it was Elena. I put my finger over my mouth, indicating for her to keep quiet.
"We are going down to the bar. Ashley, if you don't come back I'll find you and I will kill you." Klaus says before running off with Stefan.
Elena immediately hugs me as tight as she can, and I hug her tighter too.
"I knew we shouldn't of let you run off to find Damon." Elena says.
"I mean, I found Damon but Stefan found me, then exposed my existence to Klaus. I'm not safe at all, and Klaus said he's going to kill me, and he keeps staring at me weirdly." I rant. "And the witch, she also kept looking at me weird, and everytime I look at Klaus all it reminds me of is my mom—"
"Ash, everything's going to be ok. Damon will be back soon and we will come up with a plan. We will go home and will be safe." Elena says and I shake my head.

"We won't be safe, Elena. Klaus is this close to finding out you're alive too. But we'll wait for Damon, then I'll go back." I say and Elena smiles.
—
It's dark out and we hear the door to the apartment open, and it's Damon.
"Finally!" Elena shouts. "I called you an hour ago." Elena says.
"Make yourself presentable. I know where Stefan's going to be tonight." Damon tells Elena. "Ash, you got yourself into a mess."
"I told you that I was practically discovered by Klaus and you're worried about what I'm wearing?" Elena asks.
"I had an hour to realize what a bad idea it was to leave you here alone, proves it, and move on. Do you know what's also a bad idea, running into the woods to find me." Damon tells me.
"I wasn't going to leave you, but now that it already happened I see it was stupid since Klaus wants to kill me. So what's the plan?" I ask.
"The plan is i drive to Gloria's bar. You go sit with the psychopaths before one of them kills you, then i distract Klaus and Elena deals with Stefan." Damon explains.
"But you're going to have about 5 minutes tops before that hybrid freak rips my heart out. So please, tell me you can do this."
"I can do this." Elena responds to Damon.
Damon drives us to Gloria's bar. "Try to not get yourself killed. That's your goal." Damon says.
"I'll try." I say getting out of the car and I walk up to the bar, where I see Klaus and Stefan.
"Drink?" Klaus asks, sliding a drink to me and i furrow my eyebrows, annoyed. Stefan chuckles and takes my drink and drinks it instead. After that, Stefan walks away saying he needs a real drink.
"You're delusional." I mumble, forgetting they have supernatural hearing.
"Excuse me?" Klaus says, furious.
"You know I'm underage, right? 15. And I had a plan so I knew I would come back to life cause I made a promise to my mom, you remember her, right? I mean you did kill her. You act like you did nothing wrong when in reality you did all of these horrible stuff to everyone in my life." I shout.
"She's right." Gloria says, eas-dropping on our conversation, than walks away to give people drinks. Then, Damon sits next to Klaus.
"I see they've opened the doors to the riff raff now." Klaus says.
"Oh, honey, I've been called worse." Damon says and they both chuckle. I have a feeling something is going to go really bad.
"You don't give up, do you?" Klaus asks.
"Give me my brother back... and let Ashley come home... you'll never have to see me again." Damon tells Klaus.
"Well, I am torn. You see, I promised Stefan I wouldn't let you die, but how many freebies did I really sign up for? And clearly you want to die, otherwise you wouldn't be here, so..." Klaus replies.
"What can I say? I'm a thrill seeker." Damon smirks and Klaus immediately grabs Damon by the neck.
"Oh, dear, what was that?" Klaus asks. "I'm a little boozey, so you'll forgive me if I miss your heart the first few tries."
"Let go of him!" I shout and Klaus just laughs. I break a chair leg off, which is made of wood and go to stake Klaus. I know it won't kill him but I thought it would make him let go of Damon, but he was able to grab my wrist before the stake even touch him.
"Cut it out." Gloria tells Klaus, and he lets go of Damon and my wrist. "Not in my bar. You take it outside."
Damon stands up and signals for me to come with him, but Klaus grabbed my wrist, again.
"She's staying with me, along with Stefan" Klaus says.
"Let go of her." Damon says, getting overprotective... rightfully so.
"I see your Huntress abilities haven't really kicked in yet since you could've easily gotten out of this. Damon, I'm not done with her yet to see if she's worth not killing." Klaus explains.
Damon wasn't just going to leave you there. He's going to try, even if he fails. He runs toward Klaus is pushes him to the other side of the room, but Klaus attacks him back.
"Hope you know as long as Klaus wants you here, you got no choice." Gloria tells me.
"I assumed that. Figured let them fight for the hell of it. Klaus is going to kill me anyways." I mention.
"Is that what he told you?" Gloria asks and I nod, and she just laughs. "Just try and survive, you're doing great. But watch out for the sister, she's clingy and has a temper." Gloria warns me and i smile, walking away.

Essentia Animus
Second Book of the Soul - Celesi Veil Trilogy When the living essence of three girls are put at risk, giving room for a second essence within themselves, even their hyper developed fantasy world might not be enough to contain their new found ambitions. Another story of another world, these three girls must adapt to their new essence, all while each is left to question if they are truly still even alive. While this story is a sequel of the previous story in the trillogy, it is also fully capable of standing alone in its own light, taking place in a distant corner of a Celese returning readers will be otherwise incapable of recognizing. However, the events of the story are a spoiler for the previous book, in case that matters to anyone. This story takes place over two centuries after the events of Vitae Memorandum, when Celese had developed into an advanced world, improved to a point that it is much like modern-day Earth while still using the gift instead of technology. The Aethyx languages are still present in this book, and even English still exists in the world after the events of the previous book, but are much less of a focus after the same closing events of the previous book. What is instead important is how the ending events of the previous book had resulted in the start of the Instrumentation Era, and exactly how the gift translates in a modern-day sense. While this book is still effectively a fantasy world of its own kind of magic, it isn’t the classical medieval scene that would be typical for such a story. The laws of science still do not exist in Celese, but that didn’t stop it from developing into something that looks similar enough. Earth itself still remains present on the other side of the veil, and its previous exposure continues to shape and advance Celese into the world it has become. This story contains scenes exibiting mania and similar dark themes, as it goes to great length to explore concepts of life and death. While the degree of such themes should not be considered to be as serious compared to matters such as actual horror, the psychological depth is still siginifcant enough to be potentially concerning for people sensitive to matters of this nature, such as any individuals with concerns questioning matters of suicide, mental harm, or a variety of emotional injuries. While none of these subjects actually occur in the story, readers who are currently troubled by such matters may find themselves considering old wounds if they are especially capable of empathy while reading, which could lead to furthered emotional or mental stress. Readers with a high capacity for empathy may find themselves troubled by concerns regarding any potential lack of mental/emotional control as well as considerations regarding the meaning of death. Readers who appreciate subtle dark themes in a story may instead find this to be an interesting twist of the same idea.
