Christy's POV
"Yes! Yes! Come on!" I screamed.
"Mmmmm!"
"Come on Kayla, faster damn it!"
"I'm going as fast as I can!!"
"FASTER!"
I groaned and threw my controller on the floor as TV screen said game over. This was the 5th time Kayla and I lost in Call of Duty mode. I flopped back onto the bed as Kayla laid next to me laughing.
"Sorry babe, maybe this isn't my thing." She gave me a kiss on the cheek as she laughed.
"You suck." I stuck out my tongue at her and she just pulled me into her arms.
"Okay but that could be a good thing in another context." She had a smirk on her face and I blushed slightly.
Kayla asked me to be her girlfriend a couple hours ago in which I said yes because it just felt so right. Plus she asked me with the cookies we made together (which were so good by the way), and honestly it was so cute too. I was so surprised when she did cause I wasn't expecting her to ask me, I was honestly starting to think of ideas of how I could ask her but she did it. Now we were laying on her bed and playing video games. We played Black Ops Survival mode for a while but Kayla sucked at it.
Now that we lost for the 5th time, we were just laying in bed doing nothing.
"Show me what music you listen to." Kayla suddenly said as she sat up.
"Why?"
"Cause I wanna know what my girl listens to so we can go to concerts together." She smiled at me and leaned in to give me a kiss.
"But you might not like the type of music I listen to."
"Who cares? Even if I don't I still want to know what type of music you listen to. I always wanna learn new things about my girl." Kayla pulled me into her arms and gave me a kiss on the cheek.
"Okay pass me my phone." I told her as she grabbed my phone and handed it to me. I started scrolling through my phone and decided to play softer. I tapped the song and the song started playing. "The band that sings this song is called 'Neck Deep.'"
"I've had a steady stream of lonely nights,
For the past few weeks in this room
I'm locked away from it all
Just need a break from the walls that close me in
I'll see this outstanding on pins
I'll fall asleep with my eyes open
Just to see if I could focus
On something more than my loneliness
None of my friends seem to give a shit about the way I am "
I paused it and looked at Kayla and watched as the lyrics of the song really sank into her.
"Do you relate to these lyrics?" Kayla said as she held me tighter and closer.
"Well yeah I mean that's why I listen to them."
"I don't know what to say."
"It's okay I only feel like that once in awhile. Besides it's pretty catchy too and fun to sing along. You play one of your songs now." I rubbed her arm in reassurance to make sure she wouldn't overthink it.

She pulled out her phone and scrolled a bit before picking a song.
"But where I used to see beauty, now I just see pathetic
It was fun while it lasted but you'll never get it
You're living in your own world, where love is all synthetic
Yeah, and now you walk around woefully
For a minute thought about forever like it's Jodeci
But now you're spiraling and falling over hopelessly"
"Is this G-Eazy?" I asked while shifting around a bit which caused Kayla to loosen her hold on me and then tightening it after I finished moving.
"Yep. How'd you know?"
"I grew up in the Bay Area and everyone was crazy about him. It's really big to support local artists down there."
Suddenly my phone rang and it was Steph and I picked up.
"Hey Steph what's up?" I said as I sat up but Kayla didn't let go of me.
"Am I going to be home for dinner? Yes of course."
Kayla then started kissing my neck which started turning me on and I started pushing her away but she wouldn't let go of me and continued to kiss my neck.
"Umm yeah let me ask her." I said quickly. I hope she doesn't mention that when I get home.
"Steph wants to know if you want to come over for dinner." I said and she immediately stopped kissing my neck.
"Tonight?"
"Tonight. Please?"
Kayla looked uneasy for a moment and spoke. "Okay fine."
I grinned and gave her a kiss. "She says yes...okay...okay. See you tonight. Bye!"
I hung up the phone and tackled Kayla into bed and started kissing her over and over again.
"I'm so happy you're going to meet my family again and spend time with them for more than 5 minutes."
"Oh really? I'm more of terrified of what I'm going to wear and say and-"
I cut her off by planting my lips on hers.
"Don't worry you don't have to dress up for it. They're chill people they won't judge you by what you wear."
"Are you sure?"
"I promise."
A few hours later we were in Kayla's car parked in front of my house.
"Are you ready?"
She took a deep breath before replying. "Yeah let's go."
"You'll do fine." I patted her thigh in support.
We walked outside toward the front door. As I took out my keys and slid the key into the lock. Then Kayla grabbed my hand and I noticed how nervous she was. Her hand was all sweaty and she was shaking slightly. I gave her a squeeze which seemed to calm her down a bit.
I turned the key and the door unlocked. I pushed the door open as the smell of food hit my nose.
"Hey guys! Dinner's gonna be ready in 10 minutes." Katelyn said as she slid a pan into the oven.
"Okay cool where's Steph?"
"Right here." She said as she came into the room. "Hey Kayla, nice to see you again," she gave her a pat on the back and a huge smile.
"Do you guys need any help?" Kayla said. There was a slight tone of nervousness in her voice but I'm not sure if they caught it.

"Sure you guys can help set up the table. The stuff is already on the dining table just set it up." Steph walked back into the kitchen to help Katelyn.
"Ugh why'd you volunteer to help set up the table." I complained as I walked toward the dining area.
"Cause I want to make a good impression on them. And if I didn't ask you probably would have had to do it."
"True true."
We set up the table in silence until Katelyn brought a platter of pasta into the dining room and Steph followed her with a bowl of salad.
The front door unlocked and Maddie walked through it. "Hey I'm home!" She paused a moment when she saw Kayla and hung her bag on the hook. "Hey Kayla."
Kayla said hi back and Steph told us dinner was ready.
Kayla and I walked into the dining room and saw Katelyn was putting pasta on the plates. A basket of garlic bread also was in the middle.
Kayla and I took a seat next to each other and Steph and Katelyn did the same. Maddie came into the room and seat at the head of the table.
"Alright dig in everybody!" Steph said as she picked up a plate and started eating pasta.
"Mmm this pasta is really good. What brand sauce is this?" Kayla said as she took another bite.
"We make our own sauce." Steph said proudly and I rolled my eyes.
"Here we go again about your sauce." Maddie said as she reached over to get a piece of garlic bread.
"Shut up you love it." Steph snapped back. "So Kayla and Christy, what did you guys do today?"
"Yeah, what DID you guys do today?" Maddie snickered.
"Um Kayla actually asked me to be her girlfriend today."
Everyone stopped eating for a second and looked up for a moment and then smiled. Kayla was turning red but I could see she had a smile on her face too. She was proud of it and that made me smile too.
"So how'd you ask her Kayla?" Katelyn said as she grabbed the salad bowl.
"We baked cookies and brownies today and then I frosted 'will you be my girlfriend' on the cookies and surprised her."
"So now y'all official now?" Maddie uttered with her mouth full of garlic bread.
"Yes we are." When I said that, Kayla reached under the table and grabbed my hand which caused me to smile at her.
"So Kayla," Steph said, which caused her to grip my hand tighter, "what are your hobbies?"
"I play soccer for the school's team."
"Oh really? I used to play soccer in high school. What position do you play?" I rolled my eyes at Steph's questions. Great now it was going to be a whole dinner conversation full of soccer.
"I play forward. What did you play?"
"Defense. We should kick around the ball sometime, it'll be nice to just casually play around again."
"Definitely." Kayla said with a huge smile. "How long have you and Katelyn been together?"
"Two years and a half." Steph said proudly.
"You guys are really cute together. Did you play soccer too Katelyn?"
"No I played basketball."
"Mhm now ain't that the similarity." Maddie said while laughing.
"Huh?" We all said at the same time.
"Steph played soccer and Katelyn played basketball. Now Kayla plays soccer and Christy plays basketball. Ain't that the pattern. Now here I am playing hockey and Charlotte plays lacrosse."
"Who's Charlotte?"
"Maddie's girlfriend."
"Damn so all three of you guys are gay? Ain't that something special."
Everyone in the table laughed and any tension that was present quickly dissipated. Dinner was great. Except the part where Kayla got along so well with Steph, Maddie, and Katelyn that it seemed like they were best friends.
After dinner I brought her into my room and the first thing I did was pull her into me and give her a kiss.
"They love you." I told her as I pulled away.
"Do they now?" She said as she pushed me onto my bed. She climbed on top of me as she planted on kisses all over me. She then moved to my neck and started kissing my sweet spot. I squirmed under her debating whether I should let her continue or if I should stop in case someone came in. Oh god but it felt so good.
Suddenly the door burst open and Maddie made a sound. Kayla quickly got off me and rolled over onto the bed next to me.
"Oh gross please don't fuck just yet. Steph and Katelyn want to know if you guys wanted dessert but I could see Kayla is already getting something sweet from you." Maddie said as she left the room and leaving the door open.
"Fuck she left the door open again." I grumbled.
Kayla laughed and got up and closed the door for me. She laid back onto the bed and stared at me.
"What? Do I have something on my face?"
"No no no. You're just really beautiful and I just need a moment to take it in."
"That's gay." I said while laughing.
"I was trying to have a moment!" Kayla rolled her eyes and flopped down onto the bed.
"Well how about instead of just having one moment we have tons?" I suggested.
"What do you mean?"
"Stay the night with me and we'll stay up the whole night just talking."
"Will Steph allow that? Cause I just met her and I don't want to get on her bad side and-"
"Stop worrying babe she already loves you. I'll ask here stay here."
I walked outside of my room and into the living room where I saw Steph and Katelyn. Steph looked happy which was a good sign-a higher probability of her saying yes.
"Hey can Kayla stay the night? We won't do anything dumb and-"
"Yes she can. You're turning 17 in less than 2 months Christy. I expect you not to do anything dumb with her. Now go off and go be with her." Steph said as she waved her hand.
I practically ran back into my room and jumped into bed.
"What'd she say?"
"She said yes."
