Candela groaned, lifting herself up from laying down face-flat. A bright light stung her eyes as she tried to adjust to them. It wasn't as bright, but having her eyes closed for a while made it seem like what was the sun extremely bright.
She looked around for her friends. They weren't far, but they were all asleep. She went to Blanche first, gently shaking her arm and talking softly. "Wake up, wake up."
Blanche eventually moved, looking at her girlfriend and wondering where she was. "Why am I outside, and why was I asleep?" She almost immediately said. Candela just shook her head.
They both got up and went to where Spark was. His thumb was in his mouth, and it was a little bit uncomfortable for them to wake him up. Instead of trying to wake him up gently, they shook him rather violently.
He screamed waking up. Candela just smirked. He started to pout, but she just ignored it and stood up. She looked around, trying to remember what happened.
The whole place looked the same. The grass was a bright green, trees were scattered everywhere, the leaves blowing slowly in the wind, the sky a beautiful blue, a quiet pond nearby... A few people were walking on sidewalks, completely disregarding the fact that there were people lying in the grass. But the people weren't familiar to her, she had never seem then before. In a way, it felt like she knew who they were, but she just didn't know.
"Why did you guys wake me up like that?" Spark complained. "You always wake me up like that!"
"It's fun." Candela laughed.
Blanche stood by Candela, looking around. "Do you remember anything?" She asked. She shook her head and sighed.
"I remember bright lights." Spark said. "But besides that"--He turned around, trying to see everything around him--"Are we in the same place as before? These people don't seem familiar. At least to me they don't."

"I'm sure we're still in the same place, it's just probably something happened. That we can't remember." She looked at him, then back at Candela, who stared back at her. "We should look around so Spark would remember, and so we could, too."
"Fine."
Blanche gestured Spark along, and the trio began to search the area. Everything was definitely the same as before, but the people weren't. There was once an old man who sat at a bench, and they all walked by him almost everyday. But this time, it wasn't a man. It was a woman.
A few steps away from the old woman, Candela whispered, "I thought that the old person was a man. Is that his wife or something?"
"No," Blanche replied. "He doesn't have a wife, remember?"
"Oh, uh, sure." She lied.
There was then a girl walking with a pokeball in her hand. She had on the team Valor suit. Candela smiled and walked up to her.
"Hi!" She said. The girl just stared at her with a look of confusion on her face.
"Uh, are you cosplaying as our leader?"
Candela laughed. "What? I am the leader!"
The girl mocked her laughter. "Wow, who knew that cosplaying could go as far as calling themselves the leader! There's no way you could be like him!"
"Him?"
"Yes him." She looked behind her and saw Blanche and Spark. "Wow, even more cosplayers! Let me guess, you guys are the leaders, too?"
"Listen here you little shit-" Spark said, but quickly put his hand over his mouth. Blanche elbowed him slightly.
Once again, the girl laughed. Candela got even more angry, and so did the other two.
"Well, can we see the leaders? We just moved here and we've never heard of them." Blanche said, being as politely as she could. The girl made a suspicious face, but sighed and turned around.

"Fine. But don't think I'm going to think that this was all just a coincidence!" They all started to follow her, and Candela shot Blanche a look as if she was saying "nice move".
The building she took them to was the same as before. Large, many windows, sort of looked like a business building. But half of it was just rooms for certain eggs and training --even though Blanche thought it was better to train outside, her followers thought it was better to use up the rooms inside, as it was an accident to make so many rooms--, and little rooms.
She led them to the top of the building. Spark was afraid of heights, but Candela constantly made him go to the top, because she said "it was what most people usually do", and "it makes us look cool", and "It's a beautiful view".
"Leader Cendal!" She yelled. The room was basically empty, but there was someone in the corner where there were no windows, and she was wrapped up in a blanket, shivering. She didn't look cold, more like she was afraid.
"C-C-Cendal isn't h-h-here." She said. "I-I-It's j-just me."
"Sunny?" The girl said, running over to the shivering girl. "Why are you like this? And why isn't he here? Or Barry?"
"I-I-I'm afr-afraid of h-h-heights... R-r-remember?"
"Just like me-" Spark said to Blanche. "Which reminds me-" He then dropped to the ground and curled up in a ball, shivering and just about to cry. They both sighed.
The girl looked, gasped, and stood up. "Cendal!" She said, saluting. Blanche and Candela looked behind them, and saw a tall person, and someone next to them.
"Who are these people?" He said. He looked just like Candela, minus the... 'girl' parts. Standing next to him was another male who looked like Blanche, also excluding the 'girl' parts. Their faces looked much more muscline, but the male who looked like Candela was taller than the other.
"Well, I think they're cosplayers." She said, glaring at the two.
The taller male looked at Candela. "What's your name? If you are cosplaying, you did a really great job!"
"My name is uh, Candela." She said.
"Well my name is Cendal." He replied, holding his hand out for her to shake it. She confidently took it, griping it and shaking his hand.
The other male stared at Blanche. "My name is Barry, nice to meet you." He did a small bow, and so did she. "Blanche. Nice to meet you, too."
"And who's this?" Cendal pointed at Spark.
"Oh, his name is Spark. Who's that?" Candela pointed to the other girl in the corner, doing the same thing as Spark.
"Her name is Sunny. She's afraid of heights. Is he, to?"
"Yup."
"This is a very strange coincidence. Our name, how we look alike..."
Candela just nodded, but started to realize everything. Cendal, Barry, and Sunny were all just the opposite genders as them.

This story answers the question, Is Larin all right? with a resounding yes, and some storms on the horizon. It also raises the question, What happened to her down there? and includes an excerpt from the sister story Falling Down, about Larin's ordeal in the Nine Hells. Praise for Waking Up and Falling Down: Loved it. The difference between the two stories is great! The difference between Waking Up and Falling Down is astounding.
