Flashback......

After my graduation in mass communication, I was working as a journalist in a reputed news agency in Bangalore for nearly six months.

I live in women's hostel.

I was loving my job, it was like new story, new experience and new people everyday.

I've got this lovely parents ,till now who never forced me for anything, but recently mumma was pestering and pursuing me for marriage.

Is that even funny....

I can't marry at this point of my career, where I haven't at least experienced single sting operation.

I've always fantasized about sting operations where I always been a hero fighting bravely and digging out the most secretive secrets.

I was again daydreaming about sting operation when the bus stopped with a jerk bringing me in my present.

Whoah!!! It was all my imagination, but it felt like so real.

How do you even know, what does it feels like to be in sting operation?

Okay, okay!!! I've never been to one but I've seen enough movies to know.

What the hell I'm doing!!?

Debating with myself only.

"Mam, is there any problem?" Conductor asked me with strange look on his face.

"What?............ Why?"

I questioned back to the conductor, who was looking at me like I'm alien or I must have grown horn?

"Actually, mam there's no one in the bus because it's the last stoppage and you were blabbering something on your own".

Oh!! Allah, what's wrong with me?

I've never missed a chance to embarrass myself.

"I was talking to myself because I need some expert advice". I thought to use the witty answer I recently googled and came out of the bus heading towards my home sweet home for vacations leaving behind a gaping conductor.

When I reached home what I saw was sending me in confusion land (if there exist any).

I've never seen my home so decorated like a bride.

There were aunties from the neighbour who were smiling at me while congratulating me for God knows what?

"What's all this mumma, baba?" I asked them after greeting them and taking their blessings.

"Don't start your journalism here, first come inside, freshen up and relax... We will talk later". Mumma said cupping my cheeks.

"Besides I have prepared your favourite 'Badam ka halwa' (a sweet dish of almonds)." she winked at me.

Oh!!! Allah....

I rolled my eyes at her act.

"Okay, I'm tired enough to argue so, be prepared to tell me after I wake up from my beauty sleep". I heaved a long sigh and kissed mumma baba's cheek and headed towards my room.

_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_

"So, mumma baba what's all this arrangement for?" I asked them while stuffing my mouth with spoonful of ice-cream and relaxing on one of the couch in living room.

Baba was busy watching news and mumma was flipping some magazine's pages.

"First finish your ice cream, then we will talk". Baba said fixing his gaze more into the TV screen as if he will miss any news then it might occur as the last day of our dear earth's existence.

"Baba I'm eating with my mouth, my ears are free so you can tell me". I argued.

"Okay... then your mumma will tell you.”

He said pointing towards mumma.

So, I looked towards her for the answer.

"Hasan, why don't you tell her? She listens to you more."Mumma was trying to pass it to baba.

What is so fishy here?!!!

" Samina, these types of talks are done by the mother."Baba said throwing the answer ball in mumma's court.

Why they are behaving weirdly?!!

" Mumma, please...... just say whatever there is."I said frustrated stuffing my mouth to fill it with more ice cream to cool my anxious mind.

"TomorrowIsYourNikah" she said.

"What!!?"

I couldn't make out what she said, so I continued looking at her now being like a question mark myself.

She was looking everywhere but me.

What's wrong with her? Why she is behaving so strange?

"Mumma look at me and burst this suspicious bubble of yours". I asked her annoyed till the brim.

"Tomorrow is your NIKAH". she said.

What?!!!

She really said this or I've hearing problem, or maybe it's some nightmare.

Yeah!!! It can't be happening in real.

They can't probably fix everything and tell me just before the day of my marriage.

But what she said next was enough to burst all the bubbles of hope I was having.
