《Innocent Love》49

After last night Alaric and Nova went to sleep while I stayed awake. Thoughts running through my head not knowing what to do. I feel like if I forgave Nova it'd be too easy and she would think it'd be okay to say shit she said again, maybe not to me but to Alaric, even both of us. She doesn't know how bad she hurt me, I want to forgive her but her words were stuck in my head like a broken record, it just kept replaying.
Seeing Nova I know how sorry she is, but it's still fresh in my mind. The way she said I scared her, how she's frightened of me. I never meant to hurt her, I don't want her to be scared of me yet I don't know how to make it better. I promised myself I'd never harm my mate whoever they are, I vowed that I wouldn't harm Nova and I did. The faint bruise on her shoulders from when I held her tightly this morning.
I wanted to feel bad, to feel guilty but I can't. She hurt me so bad that I'm still not over it. I don't know how to get over it. Believe me I want to put this shit behind me and I know everyone would call me a fool, but holding Nova today made me realise how much I did miss her. Yet no matter how much I love and miss her, her words are stuck to me like glue.
A hand rubbing my shoulders pulled me from my thoughts. Turning I see a soft smile upon my lovers lips making me return it. Alaric sat next to me on the sofa with tired eyes with bags under them.
"You're tired." I stated, knowing how stressed he's been since nova and I argued.
"No. Just haven't fed in a while. Too long. I've been too caught up with things." He chuckled lightly.
"How long?" I frowned.
"It doesn't matter. I'll feed tomorrow." He replied.
"No Alaric. You can't just simply wait. How long since your last feed?"
"A month and a half." He sighed. "It's really no big deal Karter. I've gone longer than this. I'll be fine I promise. I just need to focus on you and Nova."

"No. You're wrong. You need to focus on yourself. Your needs come before anyone else's. I'm begging you Alaric, starting from tomorrow you'll feed regularly. You can get sick." I pleaded him.
"Is it because of me?" Nova whimpered. "I been bad so you get sick because of me."
"No baby. None of this is your fault. It's mine. I keep forgetting what I am sometimes so it just slips my mind." Alaric reassured her, pulling her head to his chest.
"I don't want you to get sick." She sniffled. "You can use me."
"What?" Alaric chuckled like he didn't process what she just said. "What are you saying nova?"
"It's my fault you get sick. So you feed from me. Like Toto does to grandpa." She replied.
"No nova. That's not happening. I can wait until morning when we get back home. Where I can have a blood bag." He shook his head. "I'm not feeding from you baby."
"B-but." She started, her eyes watering with her bottom lip shaking.
"No, no tears. You've shed enough of them to last a life time this week. No more. I'll be absolutely fine." Alaric told her.
"Come here doll." I called out for her. She left Alarics embrace and stood in front of me. I put my hands to the back of her thighs to pull her so she was straddling me.
"I need you to listen to Alaric okay?" I stated softly. "He will be fine, I can quickly go get him something now so there's no need to worry this head of yours." I smiled softly.
"B-but I wanna help. I don't want no one to leave me." Nova said holding back tears.
"I'm more than fine nova. You know why?" Alaric sat next to us taking her hand in his.
"Why?"
"Because I have you and Karter with me. That's all I need and will ever need. So I need you to go back to bed and sleep so you're well rested to run home in the morning." He told her.
"Come with me?" She whispered her eyes flicking between Alaric and I.

"Of course doll." I nodded and stood up. She clung to me, wrapping her arms around my neck tightly. I took Alaric's hand in mine as I walked to the bedroom. We all laid down, I waited until both my mates fell asleep as I laid there watching them in a peaceful slumber.
I don't want anything to change. This is what I need for the rest of my life.
When Nova and Alaric woke up, Alaric seemed to be worse than he was last night. The bags under his eyes darker and his eyes slightly red. I know if he doesn't feed soon, even the faintest scent of blood, animal or human, he'll snap until he no longer has to feed.
"We should go home. Get you a blood bag." I told him.
"No I'm fine. Let's have breakfast first. I know Nova is hungry." He replied. I sighed knowing I wouldn't change his mind so I kissed his forehead and let him help Nova prepare breakfast for us.
"We have pancakes and fruit?" Nova smiled widely.
"Of course doll. Alaric is gonna help you okay."
"Okay." She nodded and went into the kitchen. Alaric and I followed the small wolf as she grabbed all the ingredients and fruit to make her breakfast.
Alaric and Nova made the pancake mix so Alaric could make us all some. Nova grabbed a knife to cut the fruit, I wasn't worried since she's been using sharp knives since she was old enough to be in the kitchen with Ryan. The two could never stop baking or cooking, I guess that's why my mate is so good at it.
A soft smile upon my lips as I watched the two loves of my life so what they love. Nova giggling at Alaric's words as they laughed and joked. Nova keeping her eyes on what she was doing so she wouldn't cut herself.
Nova looked at Alaric and laughed, but was cut off by her wincing. She lifted her finger up that had blood trickling down to her palm. "Ouch." She whispered tears forming in her eyes.
As soon as I looked at Alaric, his pupils dilated letting me know his vampire was in control. It was like everything went in slow motion. Alarics fangs elongated as he tried to keep his vampire in check but was failing. Nova whimpered which made Alaric lose it even more. Just as he lunged for her, I was just as quick and held him back.
"Go to the bedroom Nova. Lock the door." I told her quickly trying to keep Alaric from feeding on her.
"What's going on?" Nova cried out.
"Just do it." I shouted. Nova ran off to the bedroom.
"Alaric, think about this. It's Nova." I called out to him. His hisses filled my ears as he tried his hardest to get to Nova.
"It's okay Karter." Nova said behind me. "He can use me. I don't mind."
"Are you really sure doll?"
"Yes." She nodded. Hesitantly I moved away from Alaric who immediately ran at Nova. He pinned her to the wall and ran his nose up her neck.
"So fucking good." Alaric said darkly. Worry filled me but I know if I need to, I can get him away from Nova.
Just when I thought Alaric would come away from her, his fangs disappeared into her skin. A loud gasp came from Novas lips making me go towards her. She mouthed the word 'no' when I stopped about a foot away from her. I watched as Alaric pressed his body against Novas as he fed from her.
Small grunts came from him filling the silence. I wanted nothing more to rip him from hurting Nova, but that small thing inside me stopped me from doing it. It took me a minute to realise why the grunts was coming from Alaric. His hips grinding on Nova making her gasp while he fed upon her. Seconds passed before Alaric detached himself from Novas neck and licked her neck clean of her blood.
"God baby your so good." Alaric muttered before kissing Nova fiercely.

He began walking over to me. This is it. I'm dead. I saw his shoes come into my view as I was looking down, hair covering my face. "Look at me." He growled out. I started to cry, too afraid to look. He grasped my chin and lifted my face to meet his. I mentally gasped. It's the guy from last night. His eyes held surprise too, before anger erupted in them. I cowered back in fear of what he might do."Who did this to your face?" He growled. I started to cry again and shake."Him." I whispered and gave a small nod toward the guy who hit me.

Expect some drama, flirty lines, steamy scenes, funny best friends, and perhaps, an overall epic love connection. ~Carter came around the corner as his eyes darkened with a predatory gaze. Oh no. He took a step forward, minimalizing the distance with every dominating stride, as I froze in my spot. My breath hitched as his arms finally encircled my waist and his eyes locked with mine. In one swift motion, he flipped my body so my back was pressed against his chest and hands gripped the curve of my hips. "What game are you trying to play at Valerie?" he spoke in a husky voice. Goosebumps danced along my skin as his hot breath fanned against the shell of my ear and his fingertips lit a trail of blazing heat along the length of my arm. Mentally shaking myself from the trance of that which is Carter Bryson, I tilted my head towards him and whispered; "One where you'll lose." Quickly escaping his hold on me before the tension became unbearable, I spun on my heel to face him and slowly backed away towards the exit. "Good luck though." I added mischievously. With a smirk and a devilish glint in his eyes that could even give hell a run for its money, he replied; "I'm not a player though, baby. I'm the gamemaker."~❗️Mature content.
