《Love and Sins (VegasPete Fanfic)》Chapter Twelve

With what Khun Pat just confessed, the room became silent.
Khun Ja's mad expression was turned into shock. Even Pete couldn't react with the confession his own father did.
"Pam loves you, Ja." Khun Pat said and takes another step forward. "I was so obsessed to her that time that... I raped her."
"You're lying!" Khun Ja shouted and started to go down stairs only to stand in front of Khun Pat.
Now, a secret that has been hiding for the past two decades is slowly getting revealed.
The sins that were committed were finally being confessed.
"I forced her to have the baby by telling her that... you didn't care anymore that I got her pregnant." Khun Pat just said the most absurd manipulation Vegas have heard.
Pete was still motionless as the tears rolls into his cheeks.
Pete couldn't believe what he just heard. He's a result of rape. His mother suffered between the feud of Khun Ja and Khun Pat while what Pam only wanted is to be with the person she loves by risking her connection with the Main Family.
Khun Pat clasped his hands like he is praying but he is more likely begging. "I'm sorry, Ja."
The disappointment in Khun Ja's face was visible. His eyes were red as it is filled with too much anger.
"I... I let her go back to his island to have the baby. When she came back, she said that the baby is dead." Khun Pat continues to tell the story.
"I only found out that... my son is alive when you brought him and Vegas to meet me during the meeting."
Khun Ja strongly punched Khun Pat that made him loss his balance and his body hit the cold floor.
"You raped her?!"
Khun Ja doesn't have any idea that Pam was raped.
This time what Khun Pat can only do was to confess the sins he made.
"Pam didn't betray you Ja. I did."

"Pete..." Vegas called Pete.
Vegas can no longer know what Pete has been thinking this time.
In the eyes of Vegas; Khun Ja and Pam was the victim of the sins Khun Pat has committed.
Khun Ja breathed heavily as the guilt was already hitting him.
For the past twenty years, Khun Ja believed that the love Pam has shown to him were all lies. He believed that he was betrayed by the woman she loves.
Khun Ja believed that Pam carried the baby in her will without knowing that Pam never had the choice.
"I killed Pam..." Khun Ja said as he looks at his hand blankly.
He killed Pam with the idea that Pam should never belong to anyone. He was blinded with the idea of Pam betraying him and his obsession.
Khun Ja killed the woman that loves him because of a misunderstanding, because of the words and truths that were chosen to hide.
"That's why Pete's name is Phongsakorn." Khun Pat said. "Pam named him after you."
"You fooled me?!" Khun Ja asked and punch Khun Pat once again.
"I am sorry... I feel guilty from what I did." Khun Pat said.
It wasn't just Khun Ja who became the victim of Khun Pat, it was also Pam who suffered the most.
The person Pam loves and risked everything thinks of her as a traitor. She was raped and forced to have the baby. Pam even have to lie that the baby is dead to keep him safe.
Most importantly, Pam was killed by the person she loves without giving her any chance to explain.
Khun Pat kneel on the ground, crying as he repent his sins.
Khun Pat and his guilt and conscience were hunting him for the past two decades. The action he did and decisions he made just led to the death of Pam on Khun Ja's hands.
"The two of you are psychopaths!" Pete shouted.
Vegas tries his best to remove the rope quickly even before Pete's life be placed in danger.

"You didn't even show mercy to my mother!" Pete said as his tears roll into his cheeks. "Both of you didn't even pity my mother! It was just all of your selfishness!"
Pete was already ranging mad that he approach Khun Ja and Khun Pat.
"Pete!" Vegas called his name when Pete punched both Khun Ja and Khun Pat.
"Don't you every say that you feel guilty!" Pete shouted and punched Khun Pat all over again. "You are never sorry for doing those nasty things to her! You ruined her life!"
Then Pete takes a look at Khun Ja to vent out his anger. He held Khun Ja's collar.
"Stop saying that you love her! You killed her!" Pete shouted.
Vegas heart beats fast when Khun Ja started screaming as if he is starting to loose his sanity.
"Pete! Come here!" Vegas shouted and called Pete's name.
Vegas finally untied the rope. All of the bodyguards were preparing their guns ready to shoot.
"Goddamit!" Khun Ja shouted and started to aimlessly shoot that even his bodyguards were shot.
Khun Ja's scream can be heard all over the wide storage room. He is definitely loosing his sanity.
"Pete!"
Vegas called his name.
Vegas extended his arms to have Pete back on him, however, even before Pete finally reach him, a bullet hits Pete's back that went through his chest.
"Pete!" Vegas eyes widened when Pete collapsed and fell on the floor.
Khun Ja has just accidentally shot Pete.
"Ja!" Khun Pat shouted and without any second after seeing his son collapsed on the floor- he didn't hesitate to pull the trigger that aims on Khun Ja's head.
Vegas went to Pete's direction and held him into his arms.
"Pete..." Vegas keeps calling his name. "Pete. Wake up."
Vegas hand started to shake with his lips trembling as he panics.
Pete's clothes were already soaked with his own blood. Pete's eyes were starting to close.
"Pete... Don't sleep yet." Vegas said as his voice shake in too much fear. His hands are already getting cold.
"Vegas..." Pete called his name as he catches his breath.
"Don't talk yet. We will go home together, okay?" Vegas tries his best to talk to him. "Pete. Promise me that we will go home together."
Vegas hugged Pete.
"Vegas... I'm... sleepy."
"No. No." Vegas said in panic. "Don't sleep yet. We will sleep in our bedroom, okay? Not here."
Vegas bit his lower lip as strong as he can, suppressing the tears that are already blocking his vision.
"The car will be here." Khun Pat said in panic as he ordered his men to take the car.
"Pete... Hold on a little longer. Please." Vegas begged. "Hold on."
"I'm... tired." Pete said and cough his own blood.
Vegas shakes his head. "We will go home together. Macau is waiting for us. Khun, Arm and Pol are also waiting for you."
Vegas bent a little to whisper on Pete. "Porsche and Porché might be waiting for you to come back to the Main Family."
Vegas saw Pete smiled despite the fact that he is already closing his eyes.
That smile. It crushed Vegas heart into million pieces.
"Vegas..."
"I'm here...I'm here." Vegas replied and kissed Pete's forehead repeatedly.
"I'm... happy to meet you."
"Stop saying that!" Vegas shouted and the tears that he has been stopping to fall finally landed on Pete's bareface.
"Vegas... I'll go first."
"No!" Vegas said as it was followed by his sobs. "No. Pete. I am begging you."
Pete weakly raised his hand and caress Vegas cheeks with his thumb.
"Vegas... I hope... I'll see you again." Pete said.
"Pete!" Vegas shouted Pete's name as it echoes through the room.
Pete's hand fell on the ground and he stopped breathing.
Pete is dead.
- Vegas' sunshine, life, breath and salvation died in his embrace.

Delve
Summary – Level 1: Delve is an isekai litrpg that follows an average guy who just happened to wake up in a forest one day. He wasn’t summoned to defeat the demon lord or to save the world or anything like that, at least as far as he can tell. The only creature there to greet him was a regular old squirrel. Soon enough, he meets other people, only to discover that he can’t speak the language, and that not everybody immediately trusts random pajama-wearing strangers they met in the middle of the wilderness. Things generally go downhill from there, at least until the blue boxes start appearing. Delve is a story about finding your way in a new, strange, and dangerous world. It’s about avoiding death, figuring out what the heck is going on, and trying to make some friends along the way. It’s not about getting home, so much as finding a new one. Did I mention that there will be math? Summary – Level 2: Okay, but what are you in for, really? Well, this story is supposed to be realistic, or at least, as realistic as a fantasy litrpg can be. The main character doesn’t instantly become an all-powerful god and murder-hobo his way across the universe. Delve is, at its heart, a progression fantasy, but that progression is meant to feel earned. The numbers in this story actually mean something. Everything is calculated, and if you find a rounding error, I expect you to tell me about it. That said, if math isn’t your cup of tea, there is plenty more that the story has to offer. Characters are meant to feel real, and progression isn’t only about personal power; it’s also about allies, connections, and above all, knowledge. Figuring out how the system works is a significant theme. ... What, you want more details? Okay, fine, but this is going to get a bit spoiler-y. Are you sure? Yes! Really sure? I mean, this summary is practically half as long as the first chap– Now! Okay, okay! The main character becomes a magic user, but he takes a route that is not very popular in adventurer culture, namely that of a support. There is a full magic system with various spells, skills, and abilities, but our MC decides that aura magic is the way to go, and that the only stat worth investing in is mana regeneration. Most people at the Adventurer’s Guild think that this makes him a bit of a dumbass, but he’s playing the long game. We’ll see how that works out for him, won’t we? Because of his build, the MC levels up fast, at least compared to normal people. There are no cheats, though, and he is limited in other ways. There are some clear and pretty obvious downsides to his build. That’s what makes it fun, no? Morals? Our MC has them. Again, we’ll see how that works out for him. Realism, remember? Would you be okay with killing someone and looting their body? I sure hope not. POV? The focus is on the main character, but there will be occasional varying perspectives from people around him, or involved in the events related to the main plot. It isn’t going to jump all over the place. Tech is standard medieval stasis. No smartphones, but the MC does have a technical background. Computers and their programming might be involved. There might even be a bit of uplifting down the road, who knows? Anyway, it isn’t the focus. He isn’t going to invent the gun in chapter 1 and change the face of warfare. Romance is not a major focus. Friendships are more the name of the game, though there will be some characters in romantic relationships. There is exploration, though not as much of the geographical nature as you might expect. It is more about exploration of the system and the culture. The pace is slow and detailed, sometimes verging on slice-of-life. The action is meant to be realistic and grounded in the numbers, and it is intended to have meaning beyond simply punching things until they stop moving. The general tone of the story is grey, and some parts can get quite dark. People die. Sometimes, people with names, but not anywhere near GoT level. There is plenty of light, too, though, to balance the darkness. The world is dangerous, but overcoming that danger is why we’re all here, isn’t it? Anyway, if you’ve made it this far through the summary, you clearly like words. I hope you enjoy the story! Cover by Miha Brumec Summary Updated: 2020-06-14
