"And why was I invited here, again?"
That was Dad. No, no, not America 'dad', Russia, my biological dad.
At least, I think he's my dad? Or would he be....?
Yeah anyway, I like to think of him as my dad. I don't get to see him often, and I've never actually talked to him, there's too many complicated relations between his and my family. Which, to me, is a good thing. I will never forgive them for what they did to me. But here I am now, standing in my backyard with all of my siblings, and all of Dad's (Ame's) friends, having a 'world reunion', as they all call it.
" 'Cause there's vodka." Dad shrugged.
"Fair." Russia nodded and scanned the room. I was watching from a good distance away and didn't expect him to see me, but as he was turning away to go to the bar he laid his eyes right on me. Shit.
He began to walk in my direction, not taking his eyes off me. I tried to avoid eye contact. His gaze was just so....unsettling. Those blank, milky eyes were just so icy and scary. All of a sudden, a cold shadow was cast over me. I looked up and I was met with that same icy gaze I hate so much. I didn't even realize I was trembling, until a hand was laid on my shoulder.
"Сын." (son)
"Россия." (Russia)
Russia looked down at his feet. He sighed and shook his head as he looked back up at me. He seemed sad, almost, and I've never seen him sad before. Though, when have I seen him at all in the past what, hundred and fifty years?

"I'm sorry, Alaska. So, So sorry." Russia said as he fumbled with his hands.
I didn't say anything, I just looked up into his eyes.
"I understand if you do not forgive me," Russia continued.
"But I will always be here for you."
He stepped back and took a deep breath, before opening his arms and smiling lightly at me.
My eyes widened. A....hug? From him?
I ran forward and tackled him in a huge embrace.
I always heard that Russia was a pretty big guy, even bigger than me, and I'm the tallest one out of all the states and even Dad, but nothing can compare to the giant bear hug he gave me.
He began to sob into my shoulder, shaking as he held me. Soon my shirt was soaked with tears from the emotional Russian, but I didn't care. All that matters is that he's here with me now.
"You won't leave me again, right?" I asked quietly.
"Обещать." (I promise)
Russia sniffled, his head still buried in my shoulder. Then, he pulled back from the hug slowly to look at me.
"Now what do you say, how does vodka sound for this special occasion?"
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Dad and Britain looking over at us, with two matching smug looks on their faces.
