《Hide and Seek》An Idea

"I'm so boooooooooored."
The States were lounging around the large living room, some on the floor, some upside down, some on the many couches that were spread throughout the room. They had been stuck in the large mansion for about two months now.
It wasn't bad at first, but as the days began to drag on, they were finding their usual activities less and less entertaining.
Texas rolled over to look at the complaining copper state. "Well what do you suppose we do?"
Arizona sighed. "That's the problem! I don't know!"
A small chatter of agreements sounded through the room, followed with an occasional cough.
"Alright. " Florida flipped up from his upside -down position. "While dad's at that important meeting thing, I'm sure we can figure out what to do. We're kids! We have imagination or something."
"Well you all night be kids," California interjected, "but I'm not. I'm going to take a nap." She sat up from the couch and marched up the stairs to her room.
New Mexico shrugged. "Cali's right. There's nothing to do except be a stick in the mud. I think I'm gonna go take a nap too."
Colorado stretched out on the floor, accidentally nudging Alabama with her foot. "Well all we ever do is sleep. I wanna do something."
Some more chatter sounded, and Hawaii suddenly lit up.
"Wait!" She giggled, adjusting her place next to Alaska. " I have an idea. What if we play hide and seek!"
Normally she would get moans in reply, but today was definitely different. Some hums of agreement were heard and a couple states nodded their heads.
Arkansas scratched under his chin. "Good idea. It beats just sitting here."
Hawaii grinned, hopping off the couch. "Ok I'll count!"

A chorus of groans filled the room.
"You get distracted so easily!"
"Remember that one time you got lost?"
"Ya! You always forget your looking for us!"
"I do not!" The luau- wearing girl squeaked at Connecticut, who was the last to reply. "I promise I won't get distracted."
Utah sighed. "Ok fine. But I'm not telling Cali. Last time I went up there she almost bit my head off."
"I'll go." Florida grumbled . "But only if I get to seek after Hawaii."
Deciding that was the best way to reward his bravery, the states agreed and watched the poor state trudge up the stairs to his doom.

Zen Chardo is just your average highschool student, at least that's what he thinks but in reality he is quietly extraordinary. Its as if he only exists when interacted with, like he has no place in reality and if it was up to him he may well have faded into obscurity if not for those closest to him. Despite the otherworldliness of these embellishments Zen is in fact human and like all humans is drawn to others, it is through these bonds that he makes his mark on the world... or should I say worlds, for this is a story of adventure and magic in another world.
