Kyle P.O.V

I was forced to drive slow to prevent True from falling right off the motorcycle. If he was fine, it would be funny but he wasn't fine. He was bleeding on my boyfriend's bike, I'm so gonna be in trouble when he notices the stains.

I pull up to my sister's place. I used to live here as well but when I started to date Luke, he sort of forced me to move in with him. Not that I'm complaining about it, ruff sex every other night, perfection. Or it would be if my best friend wasn't constantly showing up to class with new bruises and blood stains on him. His family may be stupid enough to not notice, not that they would care if they did.

I only know one person in True's whole family that cares about him. Bryan. His youngest brother whose 10. Bryan looks up to True. You can see it when Bryan looks at his brother.

Hell, I look up to True.

I jump off my bike, carrying True with me, the light boy he is, without struggle. I rush up the steps and frantically knock on the door. My sister answers immediately. She rushes me into her office, which has an examination table. I lay True on it gently. My sister rushes over to his side sliding gloves on her fingers quickly before cutting his shirt off with scissors. I gasp at all the blood. It was worse than earlier.

The blood was covering all of his stomach. His forehead was covered in a light layer of sweat. I reach up to touch his forehead only to yank back. He's burning up.

My sister said nothing as she grabbed tweezers to carefully remove the many shards of glass. It actually looked like it was one piece but now it looks like millions of small pieces of glass jabbing into his skin.

I looked at True's face. He was burning up, pale, sweating slightly, and it was scaring me.

I stood there as my sister yanked piece by piece of glass from my best friends stomach.

Time seemed to fly, it went from 3 to 6 in what felt like minutes. My sister had finished removing the glass in the stomach. Now she working on the large shard in his left leg.

It looked painful, and I momentarily glad that True was unconscious. I would hate to hear him screaming in pain as my sister yanked out the glass from his-

My phone went off. My sister looked up, annoyed and tired.

I look down at my still ringing phone. Luke.

I quietly walk into the other room before answering.

"Hey...Luke..." I said quietly, slightly afraid.

"Kyle, where is my BIKE?!?! And where are you?!!" He yelled through the phone. I had to pull the phone away while he yelled, otherwise I'd have busted an eardrum out with his major yelling skills. My boyfriend could yell.

"Well!?!" He demanded after his little rage. It was silent for a second before I answered.

"It was an emergency, Luke," I say simply. I knew that wouldn't please him. When it came to Luke everything had to have a very specific and long answer, no shortcuts, not simple answers.

"An emergency... WHAT EMERGENCY MADE YOU THINK STEALING MY BIKE WAS OKAY?!?!?!?!" He yelled at me. I was used to his outbursts, something his brother does as well. Then again his brother is a 26-year-old single man. Who wouldn't be irritable?

"Dude! My best friend called me." I said and was about to explain before he cut me off yelling, again.

"AND?!?! YOUR BEST FRIEND MAKES IT OK TO TAKE MY BIKE?!?!?" He yelled. I shake my head. He was quick to assume things, so was his brother.

"Seriously? If I had found you like I found him, I'd take your bike every fuckin time." I snap back. There was a pause as Luke tried to assess what I just said.

"How did you find him?" He asked quietly after a second.

"He had glass pushed into his stomach and all the way through his left leg. He was bleeding out, Luke without me... without me, he could have... could have died." I whispered the last word. I didn't like thinking my best friend could have died let alone speak out my option. He needed to stay alive.

For me.

For Bryan.

For himself.

He needed to stay. Period.
