"Close your eyes, Wanna!" I said as i led him into my house. "My eyes are closed" he argued playfully and i shook my head. "I see you peeking" I decided to cover his eyes with my hands. "Damn" he muttered and i let out a laugh. I guided him up to my room, he tripped a couple times which was hilarious.
I finally made it up to my room and stepped away from him, my eyes looking directly at my new pet. "Okay, are you ready?" I asked and i watched as he nodded. "Open your eyes!" I spoke excitedly and Javon did as told. He looked at the snake in front of him and his eyes widened.
"oh...." Was all he said, stepping away from the glass box the snake was in, he stepped closer to me. I walked over to my new pet, getting him out and placing him on my neck. "What? Don't you like him?" I questioned, getting closer to Wanna, he instantly backed away.
"W-what? No, i..i do its just-" he couldnt finish his sentence and flinched when the snake hissed at him. "I don't think he likes me..." he informed nervously, i smiled. "Dont be stupid, of course he does!" I said, bringing the snake closer.
As his tongue flickered out, Javon's eyes widened and he squealed like a little girl. "I-i don't like this. Why does he keep doing that!!!" He said and backed up further and sat on my bed.
"I dunno, but it's pretty cute, right?" I teased, smirking as my boyfriend tried to contain himself. "Wanna hold him?" I asked, he stood up and walked towards my bedroom door. "No thanks, i'm-i'm good..." he answered quickly and stuttering nervously. "Are you sure, angel?" I asked once again, holding the snake up at him.

He hissed in Wanna's face and my boyfriend screamed and ran out of my room. "WANNA!" I called out to him and put the snake back in its cage before rushing off after him. I found him on my couch glaring at me. "Im sorry, Javon" i said and sat beside him. "I didn't know you were that scared"
"I didn't think i was either but...your snake is fucking creepy looking. I don't like it..." he explained and I wrapped an arm around his shoulder. "Dont worry, you don't have to look at him ever again" I reassured and he glanced at me.
"Oh yeah? What if we wanna cuddle and watch a movie in your room, hmm?" He questioned and i grinned. "Then scales is joining us, you're gonna have to deal with that" I answered and he rose a brow with a smile. "Scales?" He said. "Oh, i cant think of any other names, scales will do for now.." i replied and he started laughing. "Fair enough"
"Sorry again for scaring you.." i spoke and Wanna shrugged. "Its fine, i gotta admit...my reaction was pretty funny" I smiled and nodded. "Yeah, it was"

Tales of Ordinary, Completely Unremarkable Contractors
"Where life had no value, death, sometimes, had its price. That is why the mercenaries appeared." - Artur Xerxes, in A Century of Disappointment: Memoirs of a Travelling Dwarf It's never too difficult to land contracts for a set very specialised skills in a continent teeming with werewolves, vampires, giant leopards, undead and, god forbid, elves. The difficulty comes when these contractors find themselves suffocated in the dense atmosphere of this world's rigid - and mostly unfair - rules; death, suffering and misfortune await those unwilling to sacrifice to bend these in their favour. In this non-linear plot, you will observe a scarred and deformed farm girl cashing her first bounty posters, a seemingly ordinary barmaid at a tavern in the bustling centre of a sprawling, corrupt city and an enigmatic leader of a firm specialising in dealings any other would consider suicidal. Watch them all take everything to the next level at every available opportunity, and then feel dread at the thought that this still might not be enough to halt the physical embodiment of doom about to do what it does best Please, feel free to review and comment! Any sort of feedback can help me become a better writer and write more engaging stories for you. I used to update once every 3-5 days, but this rewrite is taking much too long...I do hope it will be worth it.
