《Her Boss》15

I LEANED against the kitchen counter, as I took a sip of water from the bottle in my hand, "so, Miss Kepner, are you strictly into women or does your preference vary?" Oh hell, what's wrong with this kid? Aria asked, making me almost choke.
"Yeah, Mom, have you ever been with a guy before?" Not you too. I swallowed and ran my tongue along the inner flesh of my bottom lip.
"And you have to answer honestly," Aria warned and crossed her arms over her chest. I don't ask you about your sex life, Aria.
"Well, I'm a lesbian," I shrugged and took a breath.
"When did you lose your virginity?" Aria asked. Kid, you're just too nosy. The doorbell rang, and I hurried to answer. To my surprise, it was Addison.
"Hey," she waved the front of her palm forward.
"Yes, Mom! I knew you wouldn't let me down," Aria squealed and ran beside me. I stepped back, and allowed Addison to enter the apartment.
"Elle's mom barbequed chicken, there's some on the counter if you want."
Addison nodded and stood awkwardly next to the kitchen island. I closed the door, and walked over to the couch to take a seat, "hi, Miss Chase," Elle walked over beside me, "we were just having a conversation with Mom."
"Oh, yes, you didn't answer the question," Aria said. You'll be the death of me.
I groaned and placed my feet up on the center table, "I lost it back when dinosaurs roamed the earth," happy, Aria? They both chuckled, and Addison was left confused. I looked at Elle, as she fumbled with a button on her shirt, "sadly, there are no virgins in this room," I puffed out my cheeks, and leaned back, defeated.

"My mom technically is, she's never had sex with a guy," Aria mentioned. I wouldn't have guessed that.
"And what makes you think that I slept with a guy?" I asked. Aria plopped herself onto the couch vertical to the one that Elle and I were sitting on, and Addison did the same.
"You never denied it," Aria popped her lips and grinned.
"I really don't want to talk about it," I mumbled.
"What if Elle told you hers?" Aria suggested.
I immediately shook my head, "no, thank you, let me continue to believe that my daughter is still innocent."
Elle shoved my arm, "stop making such a big deal about it, I'm almost eighteen," she groaned, "you're probably being hypocritical anyway," of course, I am. But you're my little girl, and I don't want to be a grandmother just yet.
"Are you ready for our movie marathon?" Aria asked and Elle nodded.
"You two have fun," Elle told me and Addison, "I have a big bowl of popcorn calling my name," Aria jumped off of the couch, along with Elle, and they headed into the kitchen.
"I guess they don't want us to cramp their style," I stood and stretched my arms.
"I'm just here because the girls insisted, and Aria threatened to invite her boyfriend over if I didn't show up."
I nodded and sighed, "I see."
The doorbell rang again. Who is it this time? Walking to the door, I opened it, and felt all the life drain out of me, "Samantha," Ginnifer stepped closer to me. She reeked profusely of alcohol. I looked back to see the girls were no longer in the kitchen. They were probably already in Elle's room, watching TV. Turning back to look at Ginnifer, sadness within her eyes, I felt irritated. Ginnifer then gripped the collar of my shirt, and pulled me in, smashing her lips against mine. I immediately pushed her back, and wiped my lips with the back of my palm.

"What the fuck!" I hissed through gritted teeth.
"Why are you so mean to me?" Her tone was sad. She shoved me out of the way, so that she could enter the apartment, "and why is she here?"
Addison's eyebrows were raised, "the girls wanted to spend the weekend with both of us," I closed the door, and walked in front of Ginnifer, blocking Addison from her view, "so why are you here?"
Ginnifer stepped closer to me, and I stepped back, "as you can tell, I'm drunk."
I nodded with raised brows, "yes, I see that, now get to the point," I knew that I was being harsh, but Ginnifer always managed to piss me off. Every time she was having a bad day, she'd try to ruin mine.
"I usually would say this when I'm sober as well, but I still love you, why can't you see that?"
"What about Tony? Aren't you guys back together or something?"
Ginnifer shrugged, "he doesn't want to marry me," she let out an exasperated sigh.
"Where did the topic of marriage come from again?" I asked.
She shot me a look, before walking past me, and plopped herself onto the same couch that Addison was sitting on, "have you ever been married, Addison?" Ginnifer questioned, as she placed her legs on the chair, and hugged her knees.
"Nope, that's never going to happen," the younger woman said, as I walked over to the couch, and leaned against it.
"I want to get married," Ginnifer mumbled and looked around aimlessly.
"Again," I rubbed my temples, "you were married to the guy once before."
"I was married to you too," Ginnifer pointed at me.
"Look, take things slow for once in your life, don't force him to marry you again," I took a deep breath, and walked over to the kitchen.
"He broke up with me," Ginnifer's voice trembled, "Addison, have you ever been dumped?"
I looked over to the two women, "up until recently, no," Addison mumbled. Her eyes met mine, and I saw the sadness in her eyes. Have I read everything wrong? Does she really like me?
"Have you ever been in love with someone who will never love you back?" Ginnifer asked. Addison didn't answer, and Ginnifer got up, "I'm... going to... go," she stuttered, as she walked over to the front door.
I walked behind her, knowing that I had to take her home because of her state, "come on, I'll take you home."
"Okay, any chance we are going to have sex?'
I shook my head with a frown, "not in a million years," you're a piece of work.
