Thank you so much!! Now onto this that you've been waiting for!! Hope you all enjoy~! Y'all know the disclaimer, I do not own Yugioh or 5Ds only this story and all original characters! And thus time the recap is I'm third POV~
~~
Last time on Yugioh 5Ds Lost Memories! The Mark of the Spider Dark Signer Roman had shown up! And the kids, Taka, Jun, Mitch and Itsuki all went after him to try and help Yusei. Martha, Trudge and Cathy immediately went after them when they heard of this! While Jun and Mitch were in near danger, but luckily Jack saved them in time, the trio with Cathy found Itsuki and Taka on the roof of a building. When all seemed like it was going to be safe, an earthquake shook, causing Martha to fall from the edge. Cathy couldn't save her in time, and watched her soul be fed to the Earthbound Immortal Uru. Then everything became too much. And the blonde haired duelist lost control of her powers. As if things weren't bad enough, the duel between Roman and Yusei was a set up. As Kalin and another Dark Signer grabbed Cathy for their true plans. The second new Dark Signer turns out to be Liquid, Cathy's friend from the Arcadia Movement who supposedly died when it fell. Now back and working for the enemy, aiding them in using Cathy and her 'gift'.
Yusei held his dear friend close, as Rally looked up at him struggling to keep his eyes open. His breath heavy as he laid in Yusei's arms, trying to still manage to speak. "Yusei..."
"Rally, hang in there." The turbo duelist encouraged, though with everything that happened to him, it was starting to become too much to bear.
"I know you'll save us," Rally managed to say while his body began to turn grey, then to dust with his final words going through the wind, "and I know, you will protect Satellite."
Eyes shaking with terror. He had finally seen his friend after so long hearing the majority of Satellite people had disappeared. Then to witness him be forced to duel in Roman's stead, only to purposely lose. Yusei groaned in anger and frustration, "no... Rally!"
His cry echoed out to the dark clouded sky, as the fire and webs from the mark of the spider disappeared.
All the other Signers, including Leo, Officer Trudge, Mina and Blister, ran over to Yusei. Calling out to him while he still knelt to the ground. Everybody surrounded him, knowing what just happened struck deep inside of him.
Though it was all interrupted when they heard the familiar sinister laughter of Roman through the darkness. All heads looked up to see the Dark Signer standing atop of a ledge to look back down at them.
However, through the fog behind him, four more figures emerged. Each in their own dark cloaks with different colored accents on them. Obvious to others, Kalin and Misty were among the group, as well as two hooded figures. One with orange and the other with yellow.
"Well now, what an interesting turn of events. Certainly I wasn't expecting that, but the outcome was quite entertaining." Roman taunted the others. "Now at last, all Dark Signers and Crimson Signers are together."

"Your dear friends as well as the rest of the Satellite people are in our hands. If you wish to avenge them, then take control of destiny when you face us." The Dark Signer in Yellow spoke with an evil smile as well.
Kalin stepped forward next, ready to laugh at the dismay of his old friend, "tell me something Yusei, are you still scared? Did that brutal duel just remind you how terrifying our Earthbound Immortals can be? You'll never be able to save yourself trembling in fear like that!"
"No. I'm not afraid." Yusei spoke, slowly rose up from the ground, his head down a bit. Before he looked up at him with anger deep in his eyes, "But what I am scared of is what I'm going to do to you, Kalin! Let's finish this! Right here, right now!"
Kalin's crazy laugh grew only louder, "oh, strong words! But should you really be saying that to us at the moment? After all, you wouldn't want to cause harm to another dear friend of yours."
Just at those words, another Dark Signer emerged from the fog. With white accents on his cloak and his hood completely down. Carrying someone specific, everyone in the group gasped.
Cathy laid in his arms, motionless. Her body loosely being held properly. One of her arms laid across her stomach with the other dangling down. Her head turned slightly so the rest could see her face, as it looked peaceful. As if she only fell asleep. But no one believed that.
"Cathy!" Akiza, Luna, and Leo called out, hoping to get the blonde's attention to wake up. However there was no response whatsoever.
"Catarina will be with us for awhile." Roman declared to them, his smug smile getting wider only for the shock on Yusei's face to grow more in anger.
"Let her go Roman!"
"Oh but Yusei, did you not see what your bestie just did?!" Kalin taunted, waving his arm around to the dark webs and vines that surrounded some parts of the buildings. Specifically the spot where Cathy's powers went out of control. "Why would we want to do that?"
This time, the new Dark Signer holding the blonde in his arms spoke. His own wicked smirk creeping onto his face. "In all honesty, she fits better here with us then she ever did with you, Yusei Fudo."
His brown eyes seemed to have glared greatly at the Turbo Duelist below them. Almost as if looking at the Signer brought disgust to him specifically.
Yusei though had no idea why. And he didn't care. He was holding his best friend in his arms and he just wanted her back safe and sound.
That was until he heard Luna say a name behind him. Her voice shaking when she recognized who this Dark Signer was! "Liquid?!"
Hearing the name, now Yusei knew who he was! It was Cathy's friend from the Arcadia Movement, the one who she said didn't make it out of the building when it collapsed! He was alive, and he was turned into a Dark Signer like Kalin? Why though? Why would he become something that Cathy is trying to stop if they were friends?
"Wait, 'Liquid' as in the Liquid who helped us get out of the Arcadia Movement?!" Leo asked, now recognizing the Dark Signer as well. Along with Jack who remembered his help, he also saw him get crushed. And Akiza remembered the dirty blonde, who she may have not interacted with as much as the others, yet she did know who he was! "Why are you a Dark Signer?! You're supposed to be Cathy's friend!"

Liquid chuckled, moving Cathy closer and adjusted her up so her head rested on his shoulder. His face came close to her's. "Let's just say when the Movement fell, the Dark Signers gave me a second chance with a proposal. They let me live and give me Cat, and I in turn show them how to unlock and unleash her powers to help them."
"They gave me the power I needed to live and survive. Giving me the Mark of the Hands," he adjusted his arms so he could show his bare right arm, where a purple Dark Signer mark was prominent against his skin. The mark had a strange form that obviously had what looked like hands from it. His eyes never once left Yusei's angry stare. Slowly Liquid's smile left his face, keeping his head leaned against Cathy's, as if taunting him. "This would have never happened if you didn't convince her to leave the Arcadia Movement."
Everyone stared down at each other. The final battle that Goodwin spoke of was finally underway. All Crimson Signers and Dark Signers have arrived. Fate and destiny have begun to be fully realized.
No words were spoken until the Dark Signer in black and yellow stepped forward, holding up a Synchro card that Luna instantly realized who he was holding. "Tell me, little Signer girl, does this card belong to you?"
"Ancient Fairy Dragon!"
"That's correct. My name is Devack, I am the Dark Signer with the mark of the Monkey. And if you wish to get your dragon back, you must defeat me." He told Luna, putting the card away.
Now almost every signer had a vendetta against a Dark Signer. With Roman laughing at how perfect all of it was. "Now that it's all going according to plan. We will begin this battle tomorrow, go to the Four Stars of Destiny. That is where we shall determine the fate of it all. Don't be late"
All six Dark Signers turned around, beginning to walk back into the fog. Taking their blonde friend with them.
Yusei made a noise of surprise, before taking off quickly after the group. Jack following behind him, yet going another way from his friend. "No! Cathy!"
"Yusei, wait!" Akiza called out for him with Mina calling out to Jack. As the kids and Itsuki cried together.
Yusei tried to run further in the fog, yet it only began to get thicker and thicker the deeper he got into it. Until he lost sight of them. And he lost sight of Cathy.
Panic rose deep in his chest, panting with eyes scanning around to find them! "No... no, no! Cathy! Cathy, where are you?! Roman, you come back here and let her go!"
The sinister laughter of the leader of the Dark Signers echoed all around him, yet no sign of the source could be found. "Now Yusei, if you really want to save your precious Catarina, then I suggest you defeat the Four Stars of Destiny. Then come to the place where it all began. Maybe you just might save her in time. That is, if you live."
"What do you mean by all that Roman? Don't hide away from me! Let's just finish this right here!" He stopped running, turning all over the place to find them. To find his childhood friend. He already lost Martha, he can't lose her too! "Give her back! Let Cathy go!!"
With one final cry to the darkness, he called out his friend's name, even knowing she wouldn't be able to answer.
She was gone. Taken away from him again.
He had failed to protect her. Again...
~
Everyone had returned to the house. Yet a solemn air that was hard to breathe in hung between them all. Taka, Jun, and Mitch all balled their eyes out while trying to explain to Doctor Schmidt what had happened to Martha. Why she wasn't there.
"I'm so so sorry! If I hadn't gone off, then Martha she... she wouldn't have tried to save me, and..." Taka tried speaking but stopped to just let out his tears.
The doctor had no words. This all just seemed unreal, how everything had happened. "She's really...? And Cathy too?"
Itsuki, who stood off to the side, had only his head down. No one could see his face, yet they all knew he was just as much kicking himself as the other boys.
Annie was hugging his arm, crying hard in his sleeve hearing that Cathy was taken away. They had just gotten her back and now she was taken away from them again. She blamed Itsuki for this and he just as much blamed himself as well.
Luna and Leo stood next to the two, with Luna hugging the backpack Cathy always had. Inside was her duel disk and deck. She could hear Cathy's duel spirits screaming and crying out with worry at the knowledge of their owner being taken by the Dark Signers.
"Cathy is alive, but was kidnapped by that group," Trudge explained, guilt eating him away so much that he fell to his knees in front of the doctor. "They were so close to me, I should've reached out to them faster. I couldn't save Martha, she fell and that's when they took... I'm so sorry! It's all my fault, please forgive me!"
He shut his eyes tightly, hands gripping the floor remembering all that had happened on the rooftop of the building. When Martha fell from the edge and Cathy went after her, but she sacrificed herself to save her daughter figure. Then the sudden power that erupted from Cathy's grief and pain. He tried to help her too, not let her fall to her death like Martha. But he was too late and protecting Taka and Itsuki, he had to watch her be taken away.
They all watched it happen. But he could've done more to help.
"No Officer Trudge, please don't blame yourself! It's just as much my fault!" Mitch told the man on his knees, grabbing his arm while Taka grabbed his other arms.
He cried to him as well, "no it's was my idea so this was all my fault!"
Jun, still with tears in his eyes, sniffled shaking his head, "if I just spoke up and disagreed with the idea!"
Itsuki listened to them all take the blame, his hands gripping his shorts trying hard not to join the chorus of cries the kids made as well as Annie's tears. "No... It's all our fault." Itsuki sniffled with Luna and Leo looking back at him. He just wanted to make sure that Cathy wouldn't leave them again. So if he helped take down the Dark Signers then she would be safe. But he ended up helping the complete opposite of the idea. "We shouldn't have gone in the first place!"
They all cried louder knowing he was right. Lasting for only a few seconds, until Jack got sick of all the tears. Seated at the table, he banged his hands on the surface to get everyone's attention.
"That's enough alright?! It's no one's fault here, so quit it!"
All the kids bit their tongues to not make anymore noises looking at the turbo duelist with fearful eyes.
"What he means is that you guys shouldn't blame yourselves so much," Yusei clarified stepping forward to all the kids and knelt down, "this is all because of the Dark Signers. They're the ones who took away Martha and my friends, so they're the ones who are at fault."
All the kids looked at him with Annie and Itsuki walking closer to Yusei, listening to what he was saying. "But you have to be strong for us. Cause we're going to defeat the Dark Signers and bring them all back."
Everybody, even the other Signers looked at him in a bit of shock. Doctor Schmidt came up to him eyebrows furrowed. "What do you mean? Are you saying that Martha and the others of Satellite aren't really dead then?"
Yusei looked up at him seriously, "something is going on here in Satellite and in New Domino City. The hieroglyphs, the strange fire and lights caused by them, and then the strange fog that covered Satellite and took everyone within it. Those are all caused by them. The people who have disappeared have had their souls taken away and used."
The older man seemed to have guessed where he was going with this, "so by defeating the Dark Signers, you think that it can bring everyone's soul back here."
"Yes."
All the kids looked at each other then back towards Yusei, now feeling a sense of hope in them again. "Really Yusei? Do you think you can?"
"I know I can," He assured, placing a hand on Jun and Mitch's shoulders, "so please, don't cry and worry anymore. Everything will be okay and will go back to normal."
No one spoke. His words striking them in their hearts of being hopeful. Though the other older people in the room knew he was only saying this to ease their minds. They didn't know completely if what he promised was really true.
"Yusei... Will you bring Cathy back too?" Annie's meek voice asked him.
He nodded to her, her small brown eyes still glossy with tears. "Of course. We all just got her back, I won't lose her again. I'll bring her home. Sooner this time."
Those were all the words she needed to hear before letting go of her brother's arm to hug Yusei tightly. He reciprocated the hug back, patting her back to ease her mind some more. Glancing up at Itsuki who sniffled a little still but kept a brave face on. "I'm still sorry Yusei..."
Letting Annie go, he stood up to pat Itsuki on the head, "I know. But it'll be okay, I promise. You all should go get some sleep, it's very late."
He stated to all the children with Dr Schmidt nodding in agreement. "We'll be leaving as soon as we're ready. Do you think you could please keep an eye on things while we're gone?"
"Of course," He agreed guiding some of the kids to leave and let the rest devise a plan, "please, everyone, be careful out there."
When Yusei followed them out, giving one last watchful eye to the children that wished him good luck and good night, he then shut the door. Keeping his eyes downcast from what happened. Yet everyone in the room, specifically Jack, Blister and Trudge questioned if what he said was true. That if they do defeat the Dark Signers, then everyone who disappeared will come back.
Yusei though had to tell them the truth. That he didn't know for certain if that will happen.
The three guys didn't seem to agree with the false sense of hope that he gave those kids, but he also wanted to believe his own words. He had to since hope for a better future when this was all over, was what kept him going...
And everyone seemed to agree with that at least.
Blister brought up that Roman talked about something called the Four Stars of Destiny and how that's where they needed to meet for the battle. Mina explained that what he was talking about was most likely the four control units that were to help seal and protect the main Ener-D reactor. Yet they broke down first before the reactor went out of control. Each Star of Destiny ironically was named and coded with four Dark Signer cards, representing the monkey, giant, lizard and hummingbird.
When asked what about the Spider that Roman, the leader seemed to represent, she explained further that the Spider Uru was code for the original reactor itself. Telling them all that in order to reverse the reactor that the Dark Signers are powering up, they need to go to each control unit and turn them on with their Dragon Synchro cards that Yusei's father made sure would help.
There was some relief to Yusei now knowing that his father wasn't the man Roman described him to be. Hearing he entrusted Goodwin the cards, and then Goodwin putting it in the hands of fate. That the Signers would gather with their cards, like he hoped.
"What I don't understand," Akiza suddenly chimed in after such a long exposition, "what do they want with Cathy? How is she roped in all of this?"
Everyone was silent, for she did have a point. Where did fate put Cathy if Goodwin trusted it so much?
They all looked to Mina, as she seemed to have all the answers here. But the short blue haired girl closed her eyes, taking a deep breath, "after the events of the Fortune Cup, Director Goodwin looked into Cathy. Specifically her origins."
"What do you mean her 'origins'? She was born and raised here in Satellite, with Yusei and I." Jack questioned with his arms crossed. He was 2 years old when Martha found her as a newborn from what she told them, which meant Cathy wasn't even born when the reactor split Satellite from the City. Therefore she was born in Satellite, right?
Mina reopened her eyes to look at him and shook her head, "no, her power's origins. The Director refused to give me the details, but what he did tell me is that Cathy's abilities are not something new. She is not the first to show these powers all in one person; connection to the spirit world, understanding duel monster spirits, supernatural abilities, and more importantly a connection to dark chaotic forces."

Magic-Farming
A thought experiment gone out of control, inspired by kosnik4's popular story, Magic-Smithing. What would life be like for someone else who was transported to the world inside Magic-Smithing? Someone who wasn't as prone to encounter incresasingly dangerous people, whose life was a little less chaotic? What if this person was content with a simple life of farming? Tending to the plants, sowing seeds, and reaping a great harvest at the end of the year. Of course, he's also a data scientist, so he can't help but squeeze out the maximum possible efficiency of his time and the potential of his attributes. Who doesn't make excel spreadsheets in their spare time? This is a slightly more "Slice of Life" esque version of kosnik4's story. Hopefully lighthearted, funny, and as enjoyable to read as it is thinking of increasingly ridiculous skill progressions. Thanks to kosnik4 and Magic-Smithing for providing fertile grounds for creativity to thrive. NOTE: THIS IS A FAN FICTION, AND ALL INTELLECTUAL RIGHTS BELONG TO KOSNIK4. I'm a patron of his story, and love reading about what happens next in his story. I've tried my best to be as accurate to his canon science as possible, though it's not 100% feasible. Afterall, the story isn't even done yet! My plan for the releases is to release a single chapter a day until 3/7, and then release 4 chapters a week on M, W, F, & Sat. P.S. If anyone can figure out what the EXACT formula for Level XP is, I'd love to hear it. I'm starting to doubt my math and excel capabilities. I have an equation that is fairly accurate and stays close to his values, but not exactly the same.
