(Steven's friends get up from the ground slightly dazed after taking a direct hit from his destructive shout, however...)
Amethyst! The others Gems fused, let's fuse too!
Okay, let's do it! It'll be easier that way.
What about me?
You just wait for the right moment to rejuvenate him.
Copy that!
(Garnet and Amethyst fuse into Sugilite. She immediately summons her weapon, a flail.)
Things are getting more complicated than I thought.
[Meanwhile.]
(The fusions begin to overwhelm Jasper's strength, they all pounce on her, crushing her.)
*panting* Gahh! Dammit!
*running away from Sugilite* I need to calm down! I don't want to fight them while i'm in this form! *turns to jasper* No way, she's having trouble too!
Stop running, you worm!
(Sugilite manages to smack Steven with her flail. The impact sends Steven flying into a wall, smashing right through it and tumbling out of the palace.)
*panting* I think the situation has definitely gotten out of hand.
(Sugilite jumps out of the palace and with her flail crushes Steven.)
*groaning in pain* AAHH!!
Hahaha!! *begins to crush Steven over and over again*
[In the distance.]
(Jasper notices Steven's demise, despite still engaging in combat.)
My Diamond!
(Jasper manages to escape the Fusions and runs off to help Steven.)
I'm coming!!!
(While Steven is lying on the ground, Sugilite tries to crush him again.)
*running to Steven* I'll save you!
(At the last second, Jasper manages to push Steven out of the way of Sugilite's flail.)
My diamond, are you okay?!
Y-Yes. *stands up* In this pink form I'm more resistant.
(The fusions run out of the palace and swiftly surround Steven and Jasper.)
Damn, we've been surrounded!
(Steven and Jasper get back to back.)
I didn't even get a chance to talk to my friends!

And their strength increased considerably after they fused! I didn't take into account the possibility of them fusing to fight us! Grrr, that's playing dirty! This is why I hate fusions!!
Jasper, it was a really bad idea to come to Homeworld without a plan in mind!
That doesn't matter anymore! What's done is done, there's nothing we can do about it now!
You're wrong!
Huh?
There's still something we can do.
What is it?!
Run away!
What!? You're joking, right?! Look, we just gotta keep fighting to the death! There's no better way to die, am I right?!
NO!! What we gotta do is run away and come back with a plan!
Only cowards run away from a fight! My diamond, with your great power you could defeat them with ease!
I know, but... I don't want to hurt them, so our only option is to run away!
[Inside the palace.]
*walks up Spinel* Hey, Spinel!
Tell me, ma'am!
What do you have in your hands?
Umm. *looks down at her hands* A... rejuvenator?
Exactly, and what does a rejuvenator do?
Well, it rejuvenates Gems.
Right. Very good, Spinel.
So, uh... What's the point of this–?
You idiot! Why are you just standing there doing nothing?! What are you waiting for to go and rejuvenate Steven and that Quartz?! Take advantage now that they're surrounded! Come on, move!
Got it, I'll do it right away!
[Outside the palace.]
My diamond, do you really want to run away from this fight with your tail between your legs? What about your honor as a Diamond?!
I've never cared about that in the least!
But–
Jasper, please do as I say and let's get the heck out of here!
Ugh, fine! But how are we supposed to escape?
Well, the warp pad isn't that far from here. We just have to–

(Suddenly, Spinel pops out from the crowd of Fusions and lunges at Steven, ready to slash through him down with the rejuvenator.)
I GOTCHA!!
(Steventurns around and sees Spinel approaching him.)
*shocked* What the...!!
My diamond!! Look out!!!
(Jasper runs in front of Steven and then pushes him out of the way of Spinel's attack.)
Jasper, what are you doing?!
(Instead, Spinel ends up slashing through Jasper, cleaving her physical form in half.)
*groans in pain* My... Diamond... goodby–! *poofs*
NO!!
(Steven watches in shock as Jasper's gemstone falls at Spinel's feet.)
It wasn't her I wanted to rejuvenate first, but... *picks up Jasper's gemstone* I guess it doesn't matter.
Hand me that Gem! *runs up to Spinel* I'll send her to the conversion room to be turned into one of ours.
Here. *hands Jasper's gemstone to Holly*
*yells* Give her back to me!!!
*bubbles Jasper's gemstone and sends it away* Whoops! Too late, Steven.
*enraged* Grrr!
*turns to Spinel* Now, rejuvenate Steven!
I can't! He's too strong in that pink form!
I see. *to Fusions* Get him!!
(The Fusions immediately lunges towards Steven.)
*blinded by rage* THAT'S ENOUGH!!!
(Steven lets out a big, furious shout and the resulting shockwave sends all the Gems flying through the air, some of them unfusing and others poofing in the process. They then fall to the ground.)
*shocked* Wh-what the hell was that!?!

Author's Note. This is book 7! Please feel free to hop on and enjoy! If you find you like my writing style, I hope you'll check out the first 6 books, all available to read on Kindle Unlimited, link below!) Alex was dying, and all the millions his father had left him meant nothing. The life he had been so eager to embrace, to do the memory of his father proud, would soon come to an end. Cancer. That ugly, terrible word. He had tried to be strong for his mother, even when the treatments left him violently ill, his body wracked with pain, his friends and even his girlfriend leaving him almost as fast as his once impressive physique wasted to nothing under the ravages of his illness. And just when he thought all hope was dead, a couple discrete referals placed by high-powered friends of his family got him an exclusive spot at the most sophisticated cryonic facility in the world. He didn't know if there was such a thing as an afterlife, but part of the package included uploading a copy of his cortex into a digital universe filled countless worlds to explore, where he could embrace whatever class or profession he could dream of. All of which sounded hell of a lot better than the miserable death waiting for him in the real world. In the end, he signed the paperwork, putting his pathetic flickering life in the hands of potential quacks and charlatans. After all, with death just days away, what did he have to lose? Even if he could never be successfully revived, he could at least adventure his heart out. (Authors Note: Books 1-6 are now live on Amazon and here is a link if you wanted to check it out! And I will continue to post chapters to Book 6 here first, until that tale is told! I hope you enjoy! And if you wanted to help support my work by checking out book 1 on Amazon, I would be extremely grateful!)

HEIMDALLR
After his first life, Heimdallr felt he had lived a decent way; he wrote stories and lived a simple life, avoiding publicity and focused on promoting growth to the few who cherished his works. But after being reborn as Heimdallr Dagrsson, one of the many sons of Daesal's greatest warrior Dagr, he was put into a world devoid of wide-spread access to reading and writing. Instead, he was dropped into a world where fighting and death commonly reared their heads. Now, faced between his unsupported passion and his new life's innate talent and upbringing, he will have to find his new path. He will forge a new story that would make even himself dubious of whether or not it's fact or fable. HEIMDALLR is a story taking place in the setting created for another previous work of mine called KOBOLD. It follows a reincarnated person trying to wrestle between their old life and new life's wants and needs, all the while adapting to the situations that arise out of his control. Heimdallr starts out trying to survive and live a new life, all the while facing challenges and growth both fantastical and painfully real. Loosely inspired by Norse mythology and histories (names and some themes), spun into a fantasy, grit-rooted world. Skål! All content warning tags are applied so as to allow freedom of writing but there is no intent of excess or even regular use of these themes. Regardless of this, any and all uses will have dedicated warnings presented in the chapter whenever they are present! Reader beware!
