"Jake Hart," A voice shouted, causing the boy to look up, meeting bright green eyes.
Hart.
The last name fit him. Caiden was in awe regarding how the surname was tailor-made for the curly haired boy.
From what Caiden had gathered, Jake was just that; pure heart.
"Daphne Walker..." Jake let out a small, uncomfortable laugh, realizing she was getting her geer on for the laser tag game.
"It's been a while, Jake. Where are the others?" Daphne smiled, her eyes scanning the crowded space.
Daphne's eyes were always full of playfulness and mischief, and Jake wasn't sure how much he liked that about her, as there was something he was never able to pinpoint about her. That hidden thing had Jake always keep her at a distance.
Caiden was once again chuckling to himself, feeling like the jester to the very known celebrity beside him.
"Playing some bowling, but I'm here with a new friend, Caiden," Jake's smile was not the one Caiden was used to, replying to the blond, "Where are Sabrina and Ash?"
In all honesty, Jake would have rather spoken to the other two, than to Daphne.
"Oh, cool," Daphne smiled, greeting the raven haired boy, "They're around here somewhere, probably hitting on Hayden or Sawyer."
Reading the room, Jake could feel awkward tension from the boy standing a mere foot from him, and told Daphne they would meet up later.
Caiden, on the contrary, told Jake that he wasn't feeling uncomfortable. But the curly haired boy could tell there was a sense of falsity within his tone.
"She was Taylor's first crush when we were like seven, I think," Jake told Caiden, unknown as to why.
"She lives around here?" Caiden asked in response.
"Yeah; her parents own the arcade and like three other shops on the strip," Caiden retorted, his gun in hand, ready for the game.
"So you know a bunch of rich folks?" Caiden hadn't noticed he had said that out loud until he received a look from Jake.
"I don't know about 'rich', Caiden; these are people who built this town with their own hands," Jake felt a bit annoyed by the statement.
"Sorry, Jake," Caiden understood what he said was wrong, apologizing to the other boy.
Jake nodded, accepting the apology, wanting to get past it. There was something about the boy with the long legs and raven hair that had Jake's desire to please on a whole new level.

"You might regret agreeing to these terms, Jake," Caiden smirked, slipping on the geer for laser tag. The vest was placed perfectly on his torso, earning him a few stares from the crowd around him. "I tend to be excellent at shooting my shot."
Jake watched as the boy's muscles contracted and expanded with every movement he made. The shirt Caiden was wearing wasn't overly tight, but tight enough for Jake to fall more in lust with his body.
A group of four girls gathered around Caiden, blatantly ignoring the curly haired lad standing to his right.
"What's your name, cutie?" he wasn't sure if it was Jake's voice in his head saying how much he hated pet names, or it was the fact that girl number one wasn't Jake, that had Caiden throw up a bit in his throat.
The look in his eyes said more than enough; Jake reached the locker the two shared for their items, grabbing a cold bottle of water and handing it to Caiden.
"Thank you," Caiden smiled at the boy, trying and failing to push off the girl.

Jake could feel himself annoyed with girl number two; her fingers touching Caiden's face, earning her a disgusted look from the raven haired boy, himself.
Girl number three whispered something to the fourth one, breaking into fits of laughter.
"You ready, kitten?" Jake felt Caiden's eyes on him, dressed in both gratitude and apprehension, hearing him say the nickname out loud.
"For you to get your ass kicked?" Caiden pushed the ones invading his space aside, gluing himself to the tattooed boy's side.
"I told you there had to be a defect; he's gay," girl three mumbled, silently, but loud enough for the boys to hear.
"Defect?" Jake's brows furrowed, voicing his thoughts.
"Gay or not, I don't enjoy being smothered by objects that can melt in heat," Caiden replied to no one in particular, before turning to Jake.
"Like I said earlier, you'll regret this, Jake," Facing the curly haired lad, Caiden's eyes seeped into the hazel ones before him, letting every word sink in.
Jake couldn't help but laugh at how easily Caiden was able to go from calling the four humans plastic, to a smirk on his lips, teasing the curly haired lad. It was a natural gift Caiden possessed; being able to switch up his character, while never changing who he fully was.
"Now why would I do that, kitten?" Jake laughed, his head tilted to the side in curiosity.
Caiden's eyes steadied themselves at the point where Jake's neck and jaw met; he couldn't help but imagine the boy covered in his designed bruises.
"First of all, what's with the kitten?" Caiden raised a brow, laughing at the name.
Jake wondered when Caiden would question his use of the new pet name, as it was definitely out of the norm to be called, in public, anyway.
"You said I was in a lion's den, Caiden, but I only see a kitten's playpen," Jake shrugged, looking into the raven haired boy's eyes.
Jake's grin was matched with hungry eyes, begging for anything but space between the two.
"And you're what exactly to this kitten?" Caiden took a step towards the curly haired lad, his hands on the laser gun.
The tone in his voice was seductive and playful, and Jake was sure that if he were to ever sleep with him, this would be the lullaby to his mind.
"I'm just the king of your nonexistent jungle," the hazel eyed boy walked away and towards the small black lit room with Caiden behind him.
"Whatever you say, King Jake." Jake felt the same feeling he had before; feeling himself move by the pulling of his feet, as Caiden whispered into his ear, moving ahead of him.
The space was filled with people of all ages. The walls were covered in glow in the dark, colorful spray paint of several shapes and designs. The mazes were covered with several hues and black lights, as to show the way. To the right of the quarters, there were stairs leading to a more secluded game.
Caiden felt a sudden urge to kiss Jake, seeing how his eyes looked in the dark; he could feel a pull in his chest, bringing him closer to the boy, before dispersing into the game.
Jake felt a spark of electric currents run through him, as the raven haired boy stood before him.
The rest of the players, unknown to Jake and Caiden, had already scattered about. Jake wanted to simply tell Caiden good luck, but was met with plump lips on his own.

The kiss was as hungry, as the others were, but ended with a sly smile from the chocolate eyed lad. He knew how to distract Jake, and used it to his advantage.
"Good luck, King Jake," Caiden's voice was low, his lips still brushing against Jake's.
"When I win, you'll be regretting this cheating tactic," Jake laughed, making his way further into the maze, and up the stairs.
Caiden made his way towards a corner, where he was met with a few kids. The game had begun and he was shot several times by a random man, and then ran looking for the curly haired boy.
Jake took a few aims at an innocent bystander, before being shot by someone to his right. He took a look down, noticing the one boy he'd been wanting to beat.
Looking to his left and then his right, Caiden ran quietly towards the steps, and before lifting his foot, he was shot. The sound on his vest went off, and he was on standby for ten seconds, before being able to shoot his gun, once more.
Jake took cover, seeing Caiden had been coming up to his space. From where the curly haired boy stood, he had the perfect shot and took it, leaving Caiden, once more, on break.
Several seconds passed, and the two were in close quarters, away from the madness happening in the darkness. Both boys had their guns in hand, with a look of utter impulse in their eyes.
Jake took the shot, but was blocked by Caiden's hand; Caiden then attempted, failing by the sudden sound of the buzzard, indicating the game had ended.
"Ready to be my canvas?" Caiden spoke, his voice just above a whisper.
The arena had been emptied, and the two were on their own; the blacklights highlighted Caiden's face in the most perfect form. His eyes glistened in the illuminating glow, and Jake had no intention to ever look away.
"Kitten, this game is just beginning," Jake's voice mimicked Caiden's, while reaching into his pocket and clicking away several times.
Sounds echoed through the empty space, causing Jake's pants to compress. It wasn't like him to initiate anything, but Jake took the momentary courage he acquired, attaching his lips with Caiden's. He craved the feeling of entangling himself with the raven haired lad. Their lips moved in sync, emoting every thought and unvoiced conception they kept hidden.
Panting and breathless, the two eventually pulled apart, having to exit the room. The two walked side by side, each dressed with a secret.

"You never joined us, where did you go?" Landon walked over to the boys seated by an empty table, with the others beside him.
"I would have called you, but you know the service here is sucky," Taylor added, her eyes darting around everywhere. "Daphne says hi, by the way."
"Yeah, we ran into her," Jake nodded, his eyes reading an unknown emotion. "Caiden doesn't like her."
"What? I neve-" Caiden began defending himself, gaping at the lad in front of him.
"It's cool; no one does, dude," Bailey laughed, answering honestly.
"It's true," Kai added to the conversation.
Jake and Caiden had agreed they would share the results when they got back to the house. As Caiden had gotten back to see the scores a bit too late, with needing to use the bathroom after the game, Jake had a hold on who had won.
"Anyway, we figured you'd be in the middle of the game, and I know how competitive Kai can be, so we went for a game of laser tag," Jake replied, his mind still on the kiss that was shared prior to this conversation.
"I am not that competitive, dude," Kai defended, earning him glares from the others. Other than Caiden, of course, as he had no opinion on the matter.
"Kai, you would cry whenever I beat you in Mario Kart," Bailey laughed in response.
"We were like ten at the time, Bai," Kai rebutted, a pout gracing his face.
As the others continued arguing on whether or not Kai had been a little overambitious, Jake and Caiden felt the gravity between them place them in another infamous staring contest.
Jake, once more, felt himself studying the beauty that was Caiden. There was something about the way he scrunched his nose up when he was confused, or how he always listened so intently. Caiden's eyes were as expressive as one's eyes could be, revealing everything to Jake without speaking a single word.
Caiden, too, took this undisturbed time to explore Jake's features. Watching Jake, Caiden observed how when he laughed, he always scratched his nose a bit, or how his eyes would almost become greener when he was happy. He was mysterious, but not in the way that Caiden, himself, was; he was more of a constant surprise in the most electrifying way.
Caiden Lee was, for the first time in his life, indisputably drawn to one Jake Hart.
***
The house was quiet; it was as if Caiden had been dreaming them up from the very start.
Thinking back to how it had gotten to this point, Caiden reminisced of the prior events of the day, once the group left the arcade.
When the lot of friends had arrived back at the lake house, everyone searched the forest for wood. They headed towards the trees in groups, and of course, by some magical force, Jake and Caiden were thrown together. Jake didn't mind being placed with Caiden, but he wondered why the universe was playing a running joke on him.
Once collecting enough wood necessary, the friends scattered towards their own directions. Kai headed towards one of the showers, while Jenna headed to the next. Bailey and Kailey were calling home, Landon was in a stump of how to word his feelings to Kai for the umpteenth time, and Mike and Taylor were marinating the meat to be cooked at their barbeque.
Caiden on the other hand, decided on a nap, while Jake's mind began crowding him. Taking a deep breath the tattooed boy laid down, relaxing his thoughts.
When Caiden awoke, he felt a deafening silence surrounding the space he was in. The strange view of Jake's phone being in his room without him, confused the raven haired boy.
Exiting the room, Caiden noticed he had been alone, and walked to the back of the house, where the rest of the others were. His eyes scanned the area, noticing the boy he'd become drawn to had disappeared, and he wasn't sure of whether to worry, or if this was something absolutely within Jake's character.
"Have you guys seen Jake?" Caiden interrupted the laughs and conversations held by the others.
"Try his phone; when I woke up I thought I heard him leave," Kai replied, his hand over his eyes, trying to block the strong sun.
"His phone is on the nightstand by his side of the bed," Caiden sighed, taking a seat beside the brunette; she was hiding something.
With the nuisance of the severity of the sun, the group determined it was time to get back inside, leaving them on their own ways.
Caiden knew how to read people, and was certain that Taylor had been keeping a secret but the look in her eyes swore she would never tell.
It took what felt like hours of convincing himself that the boy with the tattoos was fine to rest his worries. What really had been ten minutes made his mind overwork itself into believing it had been a lot longer. Once those ten minutes had disheveled, Caiden heard the knob on the door threaten to open, and immediately laid himself back down on the bed, playing a game on his phone.
"Sorry if my phone woke you up; I forgot it," Jake's voice had Caiden grinning from ear to ear.
"Nah, it's okay. I didn't even notice," Caiden lied, and he was sure Jake would eventually find out about the lie, as Taylor seems like the friend who would tell Jake absolutely everything.
"It's okay to miss me, kitten," Jake laughed, his eyes hinting he knew about the lie.
Caiden simply rolled his eyes, sitting up on the bed. Jake took a seat next to him, a piece of paper in his hands.
"Speaking of which..." Jake began, his eyes focusing on the boy's lips, wanting more than the little bit of distance they had between them. "Do you want to know who the winner is?"
"Yes," Caiden nodded, hoping that before the bonfire he could be relieved off being violated by the curly haired lad. "But first..." Caiden read Jake's mind, sharing his lips with Jake's.
The two had become addicted to the taste of on another, and they hadn't fully gotten grasp of what the other could do.
"The score was 1025 to 1012 so we were pretty close," Jake read the scores, breathless from the kiss the two had just shared, not a hint of who had one in his tone. "But, sadly, you get your remote back."
Jake reached into his pockets, pulling out the small gadget, and clicking it a good twenty times before handing it back and crumbling the paper with the scores on it.
"Should I draw on you now, or later?" Caiden rolled his eyes back in utter ecstasy, feeling every click of the remote into his toy.
With a single finger, Caiden had Jake shivering in pure pleasure, simply lightly scratching his arm.
"After the bonfire. I don't want questions," Jake replied, still making the piece of paper smaller and almost unopenable.
Caiden nodded, taking the remote and placing it in his back pocket.
"Kitten, if you lose that remote again, it's fair game," Jake's tongue grazed the tip of the other boy's lips, as he spoke out, earning himself a shiver from the raven haired lad.
"Don't worry, King Jake, my claws and teeth have their own rules, as well," Caiden mimicked the other boy's actions, though he upped the ante by adding a nip or two.
