《Boardwalk 《David the Lost Boy》》Chapter 3 《Jasmine》

I sighed and tapped my foot against the floor. "Mike, c'mon! We gotta go!" Sam laughed and ran down the stairs. "Yeah, Mike, hurry up!" he yelled, jumping off the fourth step. Mike eventually walked down and shook his head. "What's the hurry? God, I promise that all the rides will be there when we get there." he said with a laugh. It was 7:24 and I remembered David wanting me there at eight. He was almost a total stranger and I hardly knew the first thing about him, but, strangely, I didn't question anything. I just had to get there and be on time. He said eight and that was the time I was gonna be there, whether Michael was ready to go or not.
I rolled my eyes and started to leave. "Bye, Mrs. Emerson!" I called out. "Bye, Mom!" the boys yelled in unison. She looked up from a book she was reading and smiled. "Bye, kids! I love you!" she said. I know that was probably directed at Mike and Sam, but there was a small chance that she meant me, too, and that made me smile from ear to ear. We all walked there together and bought some snacks. "Jas, c'mon, let's ride Alien Invasion, how 'bout it?" Sam asked, pulling my arm. I looked at my watch and it was 7:43 so I had some time to spare. "Ah, yeah! Let's go! You coming, Mike?" Mike nodded and followed Sam and I to the line, which, was a little too long for my liking.
Ten minutes had passed and we were finally up next on the ride. Sam had noticed my fidgeting and sighing while we were in line and nudged my arm. "What's the matter? Got some hottie you need to meet behind the cotton candy stand or somethin'?" he laughed and buckled up on the ride. "Aw, c'mon, Sammy. Leave her alone." Mike said. I nodded and buckled in. "Thank you, Mike." He smirked. "Nothing wrong with her meeting up behind the stand with her boyfriend!" I gasped and hit his arm. "Mike! Stop it!" I exclaimed, trying my hardest not to laugh.

When we got off the ride, I checked my watch and it was 8:01. God, I was already late! It's not like it was life or death, but I just had to be there. Because... because David said so. Weird how someone I barely knew could have that much of an effect on me. He was just a guy, right? Just an everyday dude, except there was something about him. Something odd, yet intriguing and impossible to ignore. "Oh God.." I mumbled. "What? Something wrong, Jas?" Sam asked. I shook my head. "No, nothings wrong, but I gotta go do something real quick! I'll meet back up with you guys soon, ok? Ok, see you in a little. Bye!" I said quickly, running off to find the spot where I was supposed to meet David.
I finally found him after a few minutes and slowly walked up to him. I was almost afraid. What if he was mad? It's not like he was my father. Heck, my father wasn't even my father. So, this guy definitely wasn't my father and wasn't gonna control me. Yeah, sure. Big and bad thoughts as I walked like a scared puppy up to his bike. "Uh, hey, David.." I mumbled.
Speak up, Jas! You look pathetic. God, whatever you do, don't apologize for being six freaking minutes late.
David blew out smoke and raised his eyebrows. "You're late," I wanted to straighten up, be strong, and say something that showed that I was my own person with my own schedule. Of course, that's not what happened. I tried my best to seem strong and independent, but not to be my own person. Oh, no. I did it because I thought that's what David wanted. Why would a guy like that want a stupid, weak, mumbling little puppy? Nah, he probably wanted someone who knew who was in charge, but wasn't such a coward about it. Followed orders, but didn't put their tail in between their legs and cower. "Uh, yeah. Yeah, sorry about that. Got here as fast as I could." I shrugged. "But I'm here, aren't I?" I said, taking his cigarette and smoking it.

Risky, that's what that was. You're late and you took his cigarette. Man, if he doesn't find that super cool, you're dead, kiddo. You'll probably get run over by that bike. Let's hope that was a good move, Jas.
David smirked and ran a hand through his hair. "Mhm.. C'mere." I took a few steps closer and he motioned to keep coming. His hand was held out. "Get on the back." I put the cigarette out and took his hand. He helped me onto the back of his bike and kicked the kickstand up. "Where we going?" David revved the engine and glanced back at me. "You'll see, angel." I smirked a little. "I hardly know you. You're practically a perfect stranger. You could be a killer." I said, raising my eyebrows. "Guess you'll just have to take that chance, huh?" David laughed a little. "Hold on tight, babe. Don't worry. I don't bite. That is, unless ya want me to." I giggled and wrapped my arms around him. "Let's go, hotshot." With that, we were riding off. As we were riding, I'm almost absolutely positive I heard Sam say, "Hey, isn't that Jas?" How and when exactly was I going to meet back with them? Guess that was kinda up to David. My tall, dark, and mysterious night rider.

Rise of the First Necromancer
Asrael Nessarat awakes on a sandy dune with a mouthful of sand and nothing but tattered rags in his posession. As the High Magus of the school of Necromancy, he once aspired to prove to the Emperor that magic still held a place in their society. But that day came, passed and inevitably accelerated his kind's downfall. Now; they are hunted, strung up and burned on pyres throughout the Empire by the Emperor's holy Inquisition- an efficient and ruthless army hell-bent on bleeding every last droplet of magic from the lands. With nothing but a mouthful of sand and tattered rags; Asrael is determined to seek the one thing his cold, still heart desires. Vengeance. This story can, at times, get very dark. It is not recommended for the faint of heart. This is not a story of an overtly powerful wizard who can pulverize his enemies from across the world, nor is it in any way, shape or form a joyous tale. We follow Asrael as he and his companions explore and seek to change an unjust world, where kindness and acceptance are exceptions, rather than the rule. If you are looking for a story to inspire hope or joy, this is not it. If you wish to read about likeable, heroic people, turn around. If you wish to see good battle evil, where the cut in between is clear, then this is not for you.
