All of the colors and bright lights swirled around me. It felt magical. It was odd, but wonderful at the same time. I felt like my eight year-old self again. Happy and full of life. I rested my head on a pole and smiled to myself. Then, as the ride was slowing to a stop, I saw a boy. A blond boy in a long black coat. He was looking at me. Our eyes met and he smirked. He looked about my age and was sitting on a motorcycle. I stepped off the ride and started pushing through the crowd of people on the boardwalk, my eyes never leaving his. It was like I was under a trance. It was a funny feeling.

As I got closer, he got off of his motorcycle and stood in front of it. It was as if he were waiting for me. I made it through the crowd and stopped a few feet away from him. "Hello, beautiful." He said, smirking. "Uh, hi." I mumbled. He held out his hand, his palm face-up. "What's your name, babe?" He asked. I hesitantly took his hand and stepped forward. "Jasmine, and you?" The boy leaned against his motorcycle, still holding my hand and shrugged. "David. You got a last name, don't ya?" I looked at David and nodded. He laughed. "What is it?" David asked. "Does it matter? You didn't tell me yours, either." He nodded. "Guess you're right." He smiled at me and then a loud voice came from somewhere behind me. "Hey! Didn't I tell you to get out of here?" A man yelled. I looked back and it was a guard, or maybe a police officer, I couldn't tell. David smirked and got on his motorcycle. "Gotta go, babe. Meet me back here, tomorrow night at eight." And with that, he rode off.

I nodded to myself and found myself walking to the comic store. I pushed the doors open and sat on the counter. "Hey, get off of-" I quickly turned around and the voice stopped midsentence. "Jasmine?" I smiled and jumped off of the counter. "Alan!" Alan laughed and walked towards me. "Gosh, Jas, I haven't seen ya in years." I nodded and hugged him. "Yeah, I know. I hated leaving, but I'm back for good now." I smiled and looked past Alan. "Hey, where's Edgar?" I asked. He shrugged. "Probably in the back." The bell above the door rang and Alan smiled. "Hey, Jas, look who's here." I turned and saw Sam Emerson walking in. "Sammy?" He looked at me and smiled. "Jasmine, is that you?" I nodded and smiled. He walked toward me and gave me a small hug. "So, you're back for good, right? Where ya staying?" Alan asked. I shrugged and leaned against the counter. "I'll probably stay at some hotel for a while." I replied.

Sam shook his head. "No, you're not." He said. I looked at him. "Huh?" Sam laughed and grabbed my hand. "Come and stay with us. I'm sure Mom and Grandpa wouldn't mind." I looked down. "I dunno, Sam.. I better get a hotel room." Sam groaned. "Come on! Mom loves you!" He started dragging me away. "Fine! Alan, tell Edgar I said 'hey'!" I called as Sam dragged me out of the store. "Boy, Mike is sure gonna be glad you're back. Mom will be happy to see ya again, too." Sam said, smiling. I laughed and let him drag me to his house. They had always been like family, more than my real family was besides my brother, so what could go wrong?
