"How did your finger got bruised so badly?"
Mehrish swiftly pulled her hands towards her when her mother enquired.
"I didn't know that size of the ring was small. I was pushing it forcefully and I had zoned out while doing it. You know me Ammi, I often zone out," She built up a lie and tried he best to make her mother believe that it was her mistake.
"I was so scared. Stop zoning out now and then Mehrish. This is not good for your health!" Ammi scolded feeding her the sweet she had made especially for her.
Her cousin Suman said,
"No matter how much a person zones out he or she will know if something pains them."
"But I didn't-"
She was cut off my Amaar,
"I knew she was not a human. A vampire may be. She may have tried to suck her blood."
"Shut up!" Mehrish yelled laughing at Amaar. This boy will never stop his jokes.
"Acha na! Now everything aside. Tell us how is Hamza with you." One of her cousins Mehreen asked. Her smile dropped at the presence of his name but she tried quickly re-collected as she didn't want them to know about his real nature.
"Good."
I mumbled. "Good? What good? Elaborate Mrs Rahmani," Suman
"Sweet, kind and generous. That's how much I can share. Not all things are meant to be said."
Lies! Lies! Lies!
She winked smiling. Hiding so many emotions through her breathtaking smile. Her smile didn't reach her eyes. Her mother kind of figure out that she was lying about something but decided to not ask her about it as she would be already tired of the questions everyone were asking her.
The evening arrived and the Walima ceremony was conducted. All the while Hamza treated Mehrish kindly as if he never have been rude to her. She pretended to be happy and the rest of the evening flew away within a period. She tried her best to not stay with him alone as he would try to hurt her for no reason. Even though she showed herself as brave but deep down she was scared and she knew it.
She was removing her jewellery sitting in her room of her Ammi's home. Her sisters conducted so many small games for them which he played with a happy face. No one knew about his real face except Mehrish. She remembered the conversation she had with her Phupho in the ceremony.
"You are happy right?"
Nodding shyly. She made sure her Phupho believed her words. Stroking her cheeks with an expression that showed admiration, her Phupho hugged her. She stood surprised by her actions. She never treated her that way. Is she treating her that way because now she is the wife of a rich person?
"What are you dreaming about love?"
She looked at the source of the voice. There he stood. Her husband, Hamza. He will kill her with his fake kind facade. It was like a storm before the silence. Quickly retreating her eyes back to her earrings which she removing, she ignored his questions. She could feel his stare on her fingers. Again looking at him, she noticed he saw her with concern. Concern that she never saw after their marriage.

Slowly he took a box and opened it. Taking the accessory out of it, he started to tie it around her neck. Their initials were written in the chain.
"H&M"
Her heart skipped a beat when she felt his touch. He took hold of her arms after putting the chain on her neck and dragged her to sit beside him on the bed. She didn't utter a single word all the while. He was sitting very close to her. So close that she could feel his warm breath.
"Do you like it?"
"What?" She stared down at her hands.
"The chain," He directed.
"It's nice," she sighed.
Getting up from the bed, he declared, "Sleep early. We have to catch a flight tomorrow in the morning. There is no time for packing now. Pack in the morning."
"But why and where are we going?" Baffled at his sudden declaration of words, she inquired.
"Are you forgetting what I said in the morning? We are going on to honeymoon. I already planned everything and the place in Europe," he smirked removing his watch. His smirk showed his hidden intentions. It showed his plan of tortures we would do to hurt her all alone there without having a painfull kind facade that he has when someone is around.
After freshening up, she avoided him at all costs and slept early before he came back from the washroom.

The morning arrived and Mehrish had gotten up earlier than him. After getting ready, she started packing the warm clothes from her closet when he woke up due to some of the sounds of packing. After eating breakfast together with her family, Hamza and Mehrish left towards their home to pack some more stuff as everything that belongs to Mehrish has already been shifted in his mansion.
Hamza has been showing a very kind facade in him in front of her family. She felt bad that she had a huge secret hidden from her mother but she didn't have any other choice either.
Entering inside his private jet, she stared at everything which was first for her. Though she had been on flights much times, it was the first that she has been in a private jet.
"Like what you see?"
She stayed silent as she sat beside him.
"You wouldn't have been in flights earlier, right?" He smirked.
"I have!" She yelled. He tried to insult her but she is written yelled at him. He laughed at her tone.
"Economy class of cheap flights, isn't it?"
"Hamza, you have no right to insult me." Every word that left her lips had a tone of anger.
"Watch your tongue before something bad happens Mrs Rahmani. You will regret it later." He rolled his eyes staring in front.
"I don't understand why in the world are you so bent to hurt me. I have never talked with you. Then why are you getting revenge? And what is it about? Please Hamza tells me," She sobbed. Her trail of tears didn't stop now. His eyes had a pinch of guilt for his deed but he changed it to victory. He surmised,
"I am glad you are crying. That's what I wanted."
She took a hold of his arms and cried,

"Please for god's sake Hamza. Tell me what's wrong? Trust me I'll try my best to fix it. As far as I know, I didn't do anything wrong to you or your family."
"Stop acting innocent after hurting someone now and then," he removed her hand from holding him and rolled his eyes looking at the other side.
She stared at the window motionless. She could feel heaviness in her chest, the lump in her throat didn't help either when the jet took off. She didn't know when sleep engulfed her and she slept in the seat uncomfortably.
After hours of flying, they finally arrived in Switzerland. Hamza woke her up and told her they would be landing within some time. She frowned looking down as she was lying on the seat as the seat was open fully so that she could sleep. Also, she remembered that she had her seat belts on. It was opened now. Hamza quickly made the seat straight and she sat straight properly. She was half-asleep.
Mehrish got up and went towards the washroom. After coming back, she put some aloe vera gel on her face and she was looking freshened up. Putting some lipstick on after studio fix, kohl was the last thing she applied. Putting all the things back in her purse, she sat straight making sure she had her seat belts on.
They landed and they got outside. Hamza was with her all the time but this time she noticed that he had a soft corner for her. He had entwined their hands together.
"Maybe, he has a bipolar personality," She pondered.
When they arrived in their room. He spoke, "Have some sleep. We will go out together at night."
She agreed as she was sleepy too. The place had already stolen her heart. It was beautiful, everyone seemed nice and kind to her.
She stared at the chain she was wearing keenly in the mirror. The initials seem so peaceful to her. If only Hamza would have treated her in a better way. She would have been the happiest person in the world. Their initials were looking just like they were made for each other.
Mehrish noticed the person who was looking at her now. Hamza was eyeing his wife. There was concern in his eyes but he wasn't showing it to her. She took the suitcase and took out some comfortable clothes. After changing, she went towards him and sat beside him on the couch where he was sitting.
"Hamza I need to make a call. Can you please give me your mobile?"
He didn't say anything and just passed his phone to her. She dialled her mother's number and informed her that she had reached. She knew that her mother would have been tensed as it was her first trip alone without her mother. After talking, she handed it to him and sat in the bed after mumbling a faint 'Thank you!' to which he just nodded.
Some time passed and she fell asleep.
I saw her beautiful face. There she was, my wife Mehrish who was sleeping loudly and the sound of her snorting made me laugh. The amount of cuteness this girl carries in her is insane. My laugh stopped when I stared at the picture in my hand. The person in the picture was in so much pain because of Mehrish's family.
Zoya didi, my sister smiling with Sahir and my niece Shaina and my nephew Zayaan who is just 8 years old. These two are so much mature for their age. They are suffering so much because of their father and his mother who is Mehrish's Phupho taunts my sister now and then.
My heart cries when I try to hurt Mehrish. I know that she doesn't have anything to do with her Phupho but hurting her and when she goes and tells her family about it. The amount of pain they would feel will make the fire of revenge calm in my heart.
Sahir is financially unstable and he can't look up to the expectations of his family but I tried my best to help him. That man is a huge trouble maker. He never settles with one thing. He tries so many things that he eventually fails at whatever he does. He never accepts my help too. His mother thinks Zoya didi is bad luck for them and that is why they had been in financial crisis. Zoya didi never shared anything with me or our family. She is wise, she knows how much it will hurt us.
Only I know about how her in-laws are. I heard Mehrish's mother is also like that. She would have also hurt Zoya didi. Shaina cries every night with me back in India. The way her dad hates her and Zayaan is always her priority as he is a male. She told me how his dadi tells her to use homemade remedies as she has a little dusty skin tone. I hate her for that. Even though Zoya didi's skin tone is fair, Sahir is dusty. It's his gene which Shaina inherited. Isn't she a little guilty about how she treats her granddaughter?
I know what I am doing with Mehrish is wrong but I can't stop myself from equalising the pain her family had put my sister and her children go through. I know it's foolish to hurt her. My heart bleeds when I see her in pain. I have loved her ever since the first time I saw her at Zoya didi's wedding. She is pure and innocent. I hate myself for doing such things to her. I just want to push everything aside, go to her and hug her tightly. Saying that everything is fine and she is not at fault at all. I want to apologise to her, she has got no fault for that but whenever I remember about Zoya didi's face. How much she would have been in pain?
I got up hearing that someone had knocked at the door. I opened it to find the person I least expected.
