I watch her sleep in the main bedroom cuddling with the blanket gently. My arm slowly lean against the doorway watching her chest take in all the oxygen and exhales it out. My eyes is locked onto her body but my mind is wandering around the new killer in town. I was stressing a little too hard on it, but it's only because I couldn't find out who it is. Normally a killer would love to be the mastermind behind it, but hiding from it is useless in my opinion.

I left the rest of the material to Alfred in the office for him to puzzle around, I know he likes to be part of my work and rather I admitted it to him or not, it helps a lot knowing your secret isn't completely in the shadow. Alfred believes I can be a threat to myself sometimes, based on the fact that I only wear the suit to beat up bad guys nowadays.

My lips blows a whoosh of fresh air as I slowly shut the door, letting her rest for the night after I spoiled her little date.

We didn't talk about the date since I manage to get her home safe after. She was more curious about the next victim and what the next plot was, but I made sure that Alfred didn't tell her about the other riddle. I didn't want to leave more suspicious than the first one, since she still doesn't know I'm Batman.

I walk my way downstairs, proceeding my way to the main room of the house. Alfred is sitting on the chair, scribbling something on a piece of paper as he rest his elbow on the table.

"Anything yet?" I ask, which made Alfred instantly glance at me for a couple of second and right back on the paper, shaking his head. He grabs his glasses he is wearing and softly takes them off, shrugging in frustration.

"Unfortunately not," he trails off. "But there's a rat that needs to be seen in the light, until then, you will not find out who it is."

I nod a little in frustration, darting my eyes around the area for whatever reason.

"So how was the date?" Alfred asks, continuing to scribble with the pen. I take a quick look at him.

"He's nice." I reply colder than usual, because that's exactly what I didn't wish for. Him to be a great guy.

"I see," Alfred says, leaving the glasses on the table. "Was it worth ruining the date for?"

"Yes." I say straightforwardly, without no doubt in my soul. Alfred chuckles a little and nods to the statement.

But I know the truth. It wasn't worth ruining the date for, I just knew deep down inside of me I felt.... Something. Not against Nate, but something that didn't sit right with me when he laughed at god knows what he told her.

I take a few steps further to the table as I watch Alfred try to figure out the code on the second riddle.

"It's unbelievable he is writing to you, you know?" He breaks the small silence, lifting his attention towards me. "And with the amount of power he wants for you to notice him. Unbelievable."

"That's what I signed up for." I mutter. "To save Gotham."

"Yes but not this way, Bruce." Alfred shrugs. "This can either kill you one day, or put you in a terrible position. You have everything inside of your palm, choose the right decision."

I look at Alfred for a second, holding the urge to thank him for being in my life. He didn't have to know since he been part of my fathers legacy for years, so he knows how special he is to my family and I.

"Well, the signal is back up. I left the rest of your stuff over there." Alfred says, pointing at the backpack that's resting on the couch. I look towards it and takes a few steps, grabbing a hold of it.

"And for the love of god," Alfred says frustratedly. "Be safe."

I end up on the top of the roof, James wandering back and forth in frustration. Once the elevator parts the doors, I quickly walk further towards him and he instantly stops his track, looking at me with irritation floating around his expression.

"You need to take a look." He says with a serious tone, before revealing his phone to me. James goes through a bunch of photos of Penguin handling a couple of bags to one of the chief from the police department. It was Mackenzie Bock.

I watch James get more frustrated, allegedly knowing he used to trust Mackenzie Bock till now.

"What is inside of those bags?" I rasps.

"Hell if I knew," he scoffs. "But they dealing with something big. "

James shuts the phone and digs it in his pocket. "We need to figure this shit out with the killer. And since it's a rat, who could it possible be?"

My mind starts wandering around the possibility of Penguin being the rat. He works D.A and supposedly Mackenzie Bock. That's when it clicked, Penguin is the only one who hides their secrets inside the club and gathers any information for the D.A.

I immediately walk towards the elevator, which causes James to yell.

"Where you going!?"

"To Iceberg lounge."

A bodyguard opens the door for the iceberg lounge and takes a couple of steps outside the area, scanning each corner for his own protection. I immediately walk past him and join the lounge, shutting the door behind me from letting him join along.

A bunch of people are dancing on the floor, throwing their arms in the air and some others grinding against their partners. The music is filling the entire spaces, the oxygen inside these walls is thicker to inhale. I notice all the bodyguards instantly guards up in front of me, not allowing me to take any further steps.

"Get yo ass out." One of them spat, in which I instantly respond back by grabbing onto his neck, forcing him on the ground as I lifelessly punch him unconsciously. The other ones immediately backs away, as I slowly lift my attention to them, raising myself from the ground. They split up and let me walk through in fear, hoping I wouldn't clash their skulls together.

I find my way to Penguin's office, but nobody is there other than his girls that works for him. They immediately sprung from the couch, watching their expressions turn from joy to fear.

My nostrils flare in annoyance since I couldn't find him anywhere. The sounds of someone clapping behind me catches my attention.

"Would I have seen you come in any sooner, I would've done said hi by now." Carmines familiar voice echos inside Penguin's small office. I turn around to face Carmine with a smile glued on his face.

"That little costume ain't putting fear onto nobody but kids," he says jokingly, laughing a little for his own amusement. "How about you get the fuck out and head back where you came from?"

I grab a piece of his shirt and instantly pushes him against the glass window, a small amount of glass shatters onto his skin. He groans in pain and grasp onto my arm, but not strong enough to twist it.

"Where is he?" I spat, but he chuckles at me.

"He's not here big boy, probably not anytime soon. What are ya looking for?"

I take a deep breath and release my grip on him, leaving him to fix his blouse. "You know, when I found out who you are, you done."

I didn't bother to listen to a single word as I walk towards the door. Knowing I will eventually find something on Carmine, but it's Penguin I'm looking for by now. He gotta be the rat.

It quickly escalate outside of Penguins office. The entire hallway is filled with bodyguards holding any sort of weapons. The tension of my muscles squeezes and the inability to think clearly soon followed. My hands folded into a fist with anger ripping through me. The heating of my blood rises the adrenaline, almost unbearable to control it.

That's when the violence run through my veins as my eyes darkening.

Things will get worse before they get better.
