"No."
She looked up at me while I stood in front of her with anger in my eyes.
"I want too."
"No. He's my problem. And he has someone who I can't live without."
Hurt flashed through her eyes but soon recover to anger.
"I want too Jaxon. At least let me help you."
"You want to help?" She nodded.
"Help me by staying out of my way." I said while I walked past her and went to my office.
I logged into my computer and started to hack through the towns street cameras.
I looked up the hospital street and started to type in codes and hacked one of the lamppost while I got the recordings from now and a couple of hours ago.
I typed in more numbers and codes and it downloaded into my software.
I shut down the site I was on and went to my new document and hurried and clicked it open.
I rewind it to were I saw my car pull up, so I rewind it so more and I saw a van pull up.
I clicked play and leaned forward.
My jaw clenched when I saw them.
They looked at each other and then up at the lamppost. I was glaring at the screen as if they can see me.
Louis nudged Sañtiago and pointed to the lamppost. He grew a smirk on his face and said something to to Louis. He then smirked and nodded his head.
My fist grew tight and began to throb from all the pressure I was putting them in. I quickly unclenched my hands and continued to watch.
They smirked and waved at the lamppost and walked in.
I fast forward it alittle till they came out.
With her.
She was looking at them weird but they kept a smile on while they talked to her. She looked at both of them and then down to the wheel chair she was in. And then back at Louis who was walking beside her while Sañtiago pushed her towards the van.

Sañtiago then looked back at the lamppost while Louis was keeping her company by talking to her. He then raised his hand and made his hand to a gun and aimed it behind her head, and shot.
My breathing got caught, and he raised his finger in the air like he was telling me to wait. He tapped that finger on his chin and then brought it up like he got an idea. He then tapped that finger on his wrist, telling me time is ticking.
By the time he finished Louis already placed her in the van.
He smirked and pushed the wheel chair off to the side and smirked one last time at the lamppost before he made his way towards the passenger side and the van took off.
My breathing was heavy and I slammed myself back till my chair hit the wall. I got up and yelled.
I kicked at my desk and turned around and punched the wall. The wall was already filled with holes but I kept slamming my fists into it.
My fists were busted up and bleeding, but I didn't feel any pain.
I reached into my jacket and pulled out my gun and shot at the wall. I was about to shoot at my computer but the door slammed open.
I aimed my gun towards the person, but I didn't have time to wrap what happened.
Small arms wrapped around my back and I already knew who it was.
My body was stiff, and my gun was still aimed at the door.
"Stop. Stop hurting yourself."
I look down at her and scuff. Landon texted me what she did when I was on my way towards here but I was so pissed off that it left my mind.
"Stop hurting myself!?" I pushed her off of me and took a step back to make a space between us.
"YOU JUST TRIED TO TAKE YOUR GOD DAMN LIFE AWAY! AWAY FROM ME JORDAN!" She flinched but I wasn't done.
"YOU TELL ME ALL THIS CRAP, LIKE OH, I WANT TO KILL HIM. WHAT THE FÛCK IS WRONG WITH YOU!? ARN'T YOU MUTE! ARN'T YOU BROKEN!?"

Her breathing was starting to turn into pants, and I know I was cutting her deep. But I still kept going.
"BECAUSE IT SURE ACTED LIKE YOU WERE WHEN I LEFT! SO DONT GIVE ME THAT CRAP ABOUT QUIT HURTING YOUR SELF!"
Her eyes were glossy but she didn't let those tears fall.
I was breathing hard and my fist was pressuring the gun to hard that I shot the ground, but I didn't flinch. She jumped but I kept staring at her.
I didn't know I stopped aiming at the door and the bullet almost hit my foot, but that didn't matter to me. The thing that matter was finding my ma.
"I want to get rid of those memories-"
"HOW!? You think by killing the guy it would help with those memories!? No Jordan! That's not how it works!"
"Well I'm not going to let him go without me hurting him like he hurt me!"
"Jordan! What are you not understanding! I'm not letting you kill him, hurt him, anything!
Nothing Jordan!
You aren't going to lay a finger on him!"
"Why the fûck not-"
"BECAUSE HE FÛCKIN TOOK MY MA!!" I said turning towards the computer and shot the screen three times till my clip was empty.
I was breathing in pants and Landon came rushing in.
"Jordan. Leave him alone."
I didn't turn to him, I turn to Jordan and locked eyes with her. My jaw was clenched and I see the fear go straight to her face.
"Jordan! Leave!"
I continued to stare at her, but she didn't move. It was like I froze her there and she can't move till I look away.
Landon's hand gripped around her forearm and pulled her out of the room.
The door slammed shut, and I knew they were both gone.
I looked around the room, and it's a mess.
It looks worse then I left it when I found out Sañtiago took Jordan.
I dropped the gun and ran my hands through my hair and pulled at the ends.
I ran my hands over my face and groaned.
My breathing was turning back to normal, but my heart was pumping my blood everywhere in my body fast.
I took off my jacket and walked out.
I walked towards my room, and slammed the door open.
Jordan jumped on the bed when the door came into contact with the wall but I didn't spare her a glance.
I walked towards the bathroom and slammed the door shut.
I ran the water till it turned warm and stripped out of my clothes.
I slammed the glass door close, I'm even surprised it didn't shatter.
I closed my eyes, and let the warm water hit my back.
My breathing went back to normal, and I sighed.
My hands rested on the tile walls as I leaned my head on it.
I open my eyes and looked down.
My thighs were covered in ink.
My stomach.
My arms.
My fists.
My neck.
My back.
My whole body was filled with ink.
I was like a walking sketch pad.
I sighed and ran my hands under the water till the blood that dried, came off.
I turned off the water, and walked out.
I grabbed a towel and dried my self off and wrapped it around my waist.
I looked at myself in the foggy mirror and whipped it till I can see myself clearer.
I looked at my self with scowl on my face and my arms tense.
I tried to relax my face, but it went back to a scowl.
I sighed. And looked at myself closely.
All you can see were ink.
But.
Under those ink designs, there was a different story.
Underneath all those ink, was what my dad and uncle did to me.
What I did to protect my mother.
What my uncle and my father put me in all those years.
What Sañtiagos dad did to me to help my father hurt me.

(Story complete - Book 1 "Shanghaied", 2 "Shortcuts", 3 "Secrets" and 4 "Sanctions") It is the 19th century, and war smoulders between England and France. Any hope for a quick end to Napoleon's rampage across Europe ended when the Great Gates opened in 1800. For a fortunate few, the strange world of the Infinite Labyrinth offers opportunities, strange descriptors popping in their minds, informing them of growth, and status beyond that of a mere mortal. The materials and power crystal they bring back foster a new age, both military and civilian. Aether-powered Skyships prowl the skies, as all the great nations blessed by the Gates try to turn the blessings of the Labyrinth into immediate advantages. But for Jonas, an apprentice leatherworker, his friend Ira, and so many Londoners, the fabled ones that walk the Labyrinth are distant heroes, seen from afar. They fell short when their Potential was measured, and they fill their mundane lives with distant dreams. One man wants to break the stalemate. The Tyrant of the Dominion of France, Napoleon Bonaparte, has a plan. Eighteen years after the world changed, he will force it to change again. And when civilians are caught in the fallout, the unthinkable happens. Six people, unqualified, forbidden to ever enter the Labyrinth, find themselves stranded in a distant zone, forcefully turned into Professionals. They know little of what that means, but they have to figure out the rules that are now their lot, for they have little hope to escape their predicament otherwise. They need to understand what the descriptors in their minds mean, what each of the strange piece of gear waiting in treasure chests behind terrible guardians can bring them. They have to become Professionals on their own and rejoin the Empire. They will figure out their new lives one way or another. But will there be an Empire waiting for them when the Gates re-open? Caught in a clash of empires and high tiers, they will do what little they can. They will step up and do their best. One way or another. The Infinite Labyrinth is a slice-of-life litRPG adventure set in a real historical setting. It's a hard, crunchy litrpg. Expect blue boxes everywhere, and the system itself is very mathy. It started life as a serial. I prepared some proper worldbuilding, with enough details and background for lots of different potential story arcs, but as I wrote, I realized the main story needs to have a definitive end. So, there are four books in total, for a bit under 1500 pages, plus additional side stories, and even maybe a sequel one day. The Gore tag was added as a precaution because there are a few scenes with some light gore.
