《Brother of Wind {book 6: Skybound}》Chapter 19 THE FINALE

Now, the team is almost complete. One member is missing.
"Thank you. I don't know how we'll ever be able to repay you." Kai said as he placed a hand on Skylor's shoulder.
"Let's just say you owe me one." Skylor said.
"Or a few thousand, if we're talking denomination of currency." Ronin said. Everyone looked at him.
"What? No reward?"
"Hey, you'd do the same for us. Only with less pizzazz." Dareth said.
"Ugh, I hate to break up the reunion, but may I remind you we have a wedding to stop?" Jay cut in.
"That's right. Jay has his last wish to take the Djinn down." Misako said.
"But since we don't have the poison, it'll be up to us to slow him down." Kai said.
"Simple plan, kick down the doors, shout at Nadakhan." Morro said. Now Morro got the look.
"I'll make up a few steps on the way, but you get the idea." Morro shrugged.
"Come on, there's no time to waste." Kai raised his fists.
Everyone started to rush off.
"Wait! If you defeat Nadakhan, his power will diminish." Lloyd called.
"Uh, yeah, that's kind of the point." Cole said.
"Of course. Lloyd is all too right." Wu said. "If his power diminishes, Djinjago will fall. Ninjago will be crushed." He said.
"Even if we win, we lose?" Kai asked.
"Cole, what are the chances you can rip this whole island apart into dust?" Morro asked. Cole quickly shook his head.
"Well, whatever you decide, I sure don't want an all-powerful Djinn calling the shots. You have to take him out if you have the chance." Soto pointed around.
"Ninja, you go stop Nadakhan. The rest of us will return back to Ninjago to prepare for the worst." Wu said, directing Jay's b-team.
"Ninja, go!" Jay charged.
"Ah-ha, not you, Dareth." Ronin grabbed the man in the brown gi.
"The Brown Ninja will live to fight another day." Dareth said.
"This way. We'll take the jet down." Ronin said.
. . .
Nya took as small of steps she could manage down the aisle as a stereo typical organ played music.
"Come on, Jay. Where are you?" She whispered to herself.
"She's beautiful." Dogshank said, watching Nya go.
"And slower than molasses dripping uphill." Flintlocke added.
Outside, a group of Pirates prepared to take the Ninja on.
"Get ready." Jay said. Zane frosted the ground, making their opponents slip. Kai and Morro went in with Spinjitzu, Cole and Lloyd double teamed to knock a few guys out and Jay struck a man with the sword. His soul flew in the gem.
"Oh, yeah, I forgot it did that." He chuckled.
"I h-h-hereby d-d-declare from here until e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-eternity, that this holy temple in which you are married, shall stand the test of time." Clancee said. Nya looked back towards the entrance.
"You keep looking at the door. You said you would stand by my side, Delara." Nadakhan said. Nya pulled her head away and bit her young.
Jay kicked the first doors open, leading to the main hall. Inside were cannons, waiting for the Ninja. They ran in and took cover behind the pillars.
"Do you, Nadakhan, son of the King Khanjikhan, take this girl as your wife?"
"Aye."
And do you, Nya, D-D-Delara, t-t-take him as your husband? To make him all-powerful, freed from the restrictions of love, harm, and added wishes, so sayeth Djinn law?" Clancee said. Nya looked back to the door.

"Cole! Take out the supports!" Jay shouted. Cole readied to punch when Morro stepped between him and the pole.
"And take us down with the building?! Think! Do you want to be alive or not?! Get in close! Those cannons can't fire what's directly on it!" Morro shouted. Jay climbed up the pole, jumping and pushing the cannon down, knocking back the operators.
"Ha! Two Sky Pirates with one stone." Jay jumped.
"Jay, come on! Stay alive!" Cole shouted, running forwards. The second cannon fired at Cole but it went through him. Cole slid across the ground and took out the other two operators.
"Uh, can you give me a minute to think about it?" Nya heard the loud fighting outside. Nadakhan held Nya at gunpoint. Oh my.
"She meant to say 'aye.' Now finish the ceremony to make it official. Barricade the doors. Let no one in." Nadakhan commanded.
"Continue."
"And under the watchful eye of this seventh sun, may this crown codify this renewal today and years to come." Clancee quickly spat out.
"The entrance to the wedding hall." Jay shouted as he punched the door.
"Let me help. It's locked. And it won't budge!" Cole exclaimed.
"Maybe if we use all of our powers together." Lloyd suggested. One by one, the Ninja quickly pushed their elements against the door and blew it open.
"...and by the power vested in me, I now pronounce you all-powerful."
"Ugh, we're too late!" Cole shouted. Morro stepped forwards and tried to cut through the air and overwhelm Nadakhan with his power. An indigo, slightly purple, light of energy formed in Nadakhan's hand, firing it at Morro and launching him back.
"ARGH!" Morro and Lloyd shouted, Lloyd stumbling. Morro clashed against a wall and dropped to the ground.
"That must have hurt." Kai said.
"I wouldn't have noticed!!" Morro shouted.
"Do it, Jay!" Zane shouted.
"I wish Nadakhan wasn't--"
"I wish you wouldn't say that." Nadakhan exclaimed. A blue glow knocked Jay down. Kai helped Jay up to reveal somewhat of a plaque keeping Jay's mouth shut. Maybe it was duct tape, idk.
"Oh, no. He has infinite wishes!" Kai shouted.
"WOW, KAI I WOULDN'T KNOW!" Morro shouted.
"And I don't have to follow any rules. This feels good. Begone!" Nadakhan tried to rid himself of the Ninja but they ducked out of the way.
Nya jumped to attack but Nadakhan caught her hand.
"Careful, my love. I wish to deal with you later. Sleep." He enchanted her to sleep.
"Nya!" Kai shouted. Cole pulled him back.
"She's in a deep sleep. The only way to break the spell is by defeating him." Zane said.
"Mmm!! mmmmmmm!!!!!" Jay tried to say.
"I think what Jay's trying to say is we can do this." Lloyd said.
"The odds are against us. We're limited to what we know and he has Ultimate power!!" Morro whisper-shouted.
"It's still six to one." Lloyd said.
"Six to one, huh? I wish I had those odds." Nadakhan created clones of himself.
"Six of me to every one of you. When you can't find good help, do it yourself." He said. Morro made a face at Lloyd.
"How is this my fault?!" Lloyd exclaimed. The Ninja drew their swords.
"Let's play fair. I wish the swords away." Nadakhan said and the gold disappeared from their hands.
No weapons to swing, the Ninja took the first route.

"Ninja-go!!" They got rid of like one each with their powers.
"There's too many. We have to get out of here!" Lloyd exclaimed.
"MMMM MM MM!!!" Jay waved his hands.
"I want to save my sister too. But we're no good to her gone." Kai said.
"The poison Nya brought with her. It's in the Keep." Clancee whispered to Jay. His eyes widened and Jay bolted out of the room, the Ndakhan clones following.
"What did you tell him, Clancee?" OG Nadakhan demanded to know.
"Now, hold on. I wish you'd listen to me for once." Clancee said. By that word, well that last wish Clancee had was gone but oh well, it's not relevant to the plot.
"I never liked how you treated people. Flintlocke was right. You said this was about us, b-b-but it's only about you!" Clancee accused.
"Well, if that's how you truly feel, you're banished!" Nadakhan shouted. He turned to Doubloon and Monkey Wrench.
"Of course I do appreciate your loyalty. And I can't wait to repay you. But Clancee was right. This is all about me. I banish you too!" Nadakhan shouted. Well, three crew mates down.
"Dogshank? Flintlocke? Where are you? Bah! Forget them." Nadakhan turned to Nya.
"I finally have you all to myself."
So the Ninja kept running.
"This way!" Lloyd directed.
"There's too many!" Cole shouted. Dogshank stepped in and attacked a clone.
"Need help?" She asked, punching away a few clones.
"Glad to see we're not alone in this." Kai said.
"The only thing good about this situation is being able to knock him out more than once." Flintlocke said.
"Come on. We have to find a way back to Ninjago." Kai said.
"No, that would take too long!" Morro exclaimed.
"MHM!!" Jay nodded his head over and over, pointing at Morro then he pointed up.
"Jay's pointing to the Misfortune's Keep. I think we might want to follow him." Lloyd said.
"What's gotten into him?" Cole asked.
"Let's find out." Lloyd said. They stopped at a cliff with sky mines in the air, separating them and the keep.
"I hope you know what you're doing, Jay." Cole said.
"Explosives in the air. How hard can that be?" Morro shrugged. Jay used Airjitzu and jumped onto a sky mine.
"Tread lightly." Kai warned.
"You might want to hurry up." Dogshank said.
"You two go first. I got a plan that may or may not buy us time." Morro said.
"50/50?" Flintlocke asked.
"70/30." Morro smiled.
"For failure."
Flintlocke and Dogshank looked at each other before jumping on the mines. Kai saw the Nadakhans coming closer. He flared up his hand. Morro glanced back.
'Elements only on my signal, tell the team!'
"Kai, wait for Morro's signal before you fire!" Lloyd exclaimed.
"Hope he knows what he's doing." Kai said as Morro only just started to make his path.
The Ninja, Flintlocke and Dogshank made it to the keep. The Nadakhans were literally just behind Morro. The Ninja turned back as he jumped Morro threw out his hands, a wave of wind pushing all the clones back into the field of mines.
"NOW!" Morro shouted. Kai, Lloyd and Jay, the elements most likely to make an explosion, fired at the mines and and. Yes. Explosion.
It got rid of the clones but also blew the keep back further out into the air. They came to a stop. Morro jumped up to his feet.
"Woo." He punched the air.
"You had all that wind, why didn't you use it before?" Flintlocke asked.
"What, you want me to use it on you?" Morro asked.
"Morro. Please make sure you take longer to calculate your plans before we use them." Zane sighed.
"Sure. But at least we're safe now." Morro said.
"But my sister's still down there. And I'm gonna save her." Kai said.
"Yes, Kai, never leave a ninja behind. And we never will. But we are running out of time." Lloyd said.
. . .
"You pretended to be her to trick me. Clever girl." Nadakhan circled around an enchanted Nya.
"But clever can only take you so far. I wish...for my love to return."
Nya's body moved back onto the ground. Her eyes glowing green.
"Delara? Is it finally you?"
"My darling, you have done it." A deeper and… somewhat British voice spoke.
"Oh, what trouble you must have been through."
. . .
Zane tried to pull whatever was covering Jay's mouth off.
"He banished them right before our eyes."
"Fear not, Buttercup. We all know the realms we came from were a lot more welcoming than this world's ever been." Flintlocke said.
"But how are we supposed to stop him? Without the poison, we don't stand a ghost of a chance." Cole said. Morro made a face.
"Oh, how long are you gonna say that?" Kai butted in.
"If Nadakhan gets his way, not long." Cole said.
"Maybe it's best if we keep our distance." Dogshank said.
"But that's my sister he's got." Kai said.
"Kai's right. We have to do something. But what?" Lloyd asked.
"Whoa!" Zane pulled the thing off of Jay's mouth.
"Aah! We have the poison! Oh, boy, that really hurt." Jay shouted.
"Didn't the poison get taken?" Morro asked.
"Yeah, but not confirmed destroyed. Thanks to Clancee, it's right here." Jay ran to a locker and threw the door open. He took out the dart.
"And you still have your wish." Cole exclaimed.
"I do. But if there's anything I learned, it's that wishing for something won't make it come true." Jay said.
"We all tried to get something from Nadakhan, and look what happened. Lloyd, you wished to be wise, and what does Wu always say about his wisdom?" Jay said.
"Wisdom comes with age." Lloyd said.
"It turns us against ourselves and makes him stronger." Jay said.
"Like-- what'd you ask for?" He asked Morro.
"Doesn't matter, all I got was pain."
"Oh… okay…? But if we really want something, don't wish it to happen, make it happen." Jay said.
"But how are we gonna get close?" Cole asked.
"Maybe one of us doesn't have to get close." Jay looked to Flintlocke.
"Me?" The gunslinger asked.
"You can take the shot from far away. Once he's weakened, we'll do the rest." Jay said.
"But I can't even shoot water in an ocean."
"According to Nadakhan. But he never held the real power. We did." Jay pointed.
"I don't follow." Kai said.
"All his wishes, he could never make them on his own. He needed us to make them come true. Just like when I wished to be rich, he tried to convince me my dad died. But that wasn't my real dad. My real dad lives with my mom, happy in the junkyard." Jay said.
"That's true." Cole said.
"He's right. It's worth a shot, Flintlocke." Lloyd said.
"If what you're saying is really true, then let's see if I've still got my mojo." Flintlocke shot at a coin laying on the ground.
"If you want something bad enough, you can make it happen." Lloyd clenched his fist. Flintlocke loaded up with the dart.
"Just give me a clear shot."
"Leave that to me." Jay smirked.
. . .
"Do you forgive me, Delara?" Nadakhan asked.
"You did what you had to do, so that we could become all-powerful." Delara said.
"But do you still love me?" Nadakham traced his hand on the edge of a table.
"Of course. How many times must you ask?" Delara asked.
"I can now wish all that we ever dreamed of. I can wish you a feast. Wish you luxury. Wish you...romance." Nadakhan closed in. "Here I stand before my ancestors, the last Djinn King. Our world may have been destroyed, but we will rise again."
"You are the only thing I have ever wanted. You and you alone." Delara said.
"That is all I wanted to hear. All I ever…" Nadakhan turned around to see the Misfortune's keep.
"My ship!"
"Come about, mateys!" Jay shouted at the helm. He put his eye-patch on.
"This is the moment of truth." Zane said.
"Incoming at 3 o'clock." Kai said.
"Keep them busy till we're at the temple." Cole said. Morro extended his staff.
"Cover me." He jumped off.
"Look, there! And dive! Hold! Hold! Hold the line!" Jay shouted as incoming fire closed in. Jay crashed the ship into the temple. The Ninja on the ship jumped to safety.
"Hmm. Looks like someone has a death wish." Nadakhan said.
"Looks like we crashed your party." Kai said.
"And to think we forgot a wedding gift." Cole added. Morro landed next to the group.
"The reception was poor anyways." Morro shrugged.
"But I brought a little something." Jay raised the Sword of Souls. The girl in the white dress walked out.
"Step away from him, Nya. This guy's about to become French toast." Jay shouted.
"My name is not Nya, it's Delara. And you will pay for your insubordination." She declared.
"He has cast a spell on her. We must defeat him to save Nya." Zane exclaimed. The Ninja split up around the terrain.
"You think you can cast me away with my own sword? How little you must think. I wish you gone!" Nadakhan shouted. Jay jumped out of the way. The Ninja used the destroyed building debris to hide.
"Careful, ninja. We don't want to hurt her in the process. Just do as we planned." Lloyd exclaimed.
"I will squash you like bugs!" Nadakhan shouted.
"Come on, ninja. Get him in the open." Flintlocke adjusted his scope.
The elements fired up.
"You have destroyed my works of art. A pity. I suppose you'll make good replacements!" Nadakhan shouted.
"Sure, you're a real tough guy when you get each of us alone." Kai said.
"But let's see how tough you are when we're together!" Cole shouted.
Kai and Cole fired at the same place and Zane ran out to get a more direct attack.
"I wish you still!" Nadakhan shouted and Zane froze in his position into gold.
"Zane!" Cole shouted. Delara laughed.
"Okay, guess we're all gonna be golden ninja in time." Morro pressed his back against the pillar.
"And so, the end of the ninja has begun." Nadakhan declared.
Cole signaled to Kai and Lloyd. Morro to Jay. Lloyd broke down another support, breaking an archway.
"Fire!"
"Earth!"
"I wish you both--"
"Now!" Jay threw his hand forwards.
"Alright!" Morro exclaimed, the two using their powers to stop Nadakhan's words. Cole and Kai didn't make it back to cover in time.
"I wish you both still!!"
Morro, Lloyd and Jay ducked down.
"Come on." Flintlocke was getting a bit jumpy on the trigger.
Lloyd and Morro jumped into the open, pulling Nadakhan's attention. Jay raced out.
"Sorry, Nya, I have to do this." Jay picked Nya's body up and threw her aside. Nadakham looked back at the sound of Nya's yelp.
Lloyd blinded Nadakhan for a few seconds and Morro pushed Nadakhan back.
"He's hit! We've got him!" Jay shouted, running in with the sword.
Lloyd ran in while Morro stumbled back to breathe.
"I wish you still!!" The brothers were hit.
Jay was knocked back from a shockwave.
"No!!" Jay bit his lip.
"Come on, Flintlocke, take the shot." He dodged a blast.
"Now, give me back my sword." Nadakhan shouted.
Jay ran to hide behind the remaining pillars of the archway before they all got destroyed. Jay's grip slipped on the sword. Nadalhan picked it up.
"Finally. I wish…"
"My shot is yours to keep." Flintlocke pulled the trigger. The dart flew. Nadakhan reached for Delara and the needle hit.
"Tiger… Widow… Venom." Nadakhan fell. The islands started to fall.
"No!!" Nadakhan turned to Nya who came back to her own mind.
"Delara…?"
The people of Ninjago gazed upon the falling sky in horror.
"Get back, move, move!!" Wu exclaimed.
The golden Ninja returned to more again.
"The poison. It's working!" Kai exclaimed.
"His magic is failing! Now, Jay!" Cole shouted. Jay moved his way to the weak Djinn, limping.
"I wish…!"
"I wish… I wish you weren't a--"
"Jay."
Jay turned his head. His eyes widened and his heart skipped a beat. Maybe two.
"Nya!" Jay ripples his eye-patch off.
"The poison hit you too!?" Jay ran to catch his falling love.
"No, no, no, no, no!" Morro slid down to hold Nya's head onto Jay's lap.
"It only hurts a Djinn, but is fatal to her." Zane said.
"Only one wish Jay… What a dilemma. Wish me mortal, and she dies. Wish her well… Nghh! And there is no stopping me!!" Nadakhan exclaimed.
Jay held Nya's hand tighter.
"You have to make your last wish." Jya said.
"You're the only one who can stop him."
"No! Not if that means losing you!"
"I never wanted to be part of your boys club anyway…" Nya stroked Jay's face.
"No, Nya… Don't say that!" Jay shouted.
"Guess it's true." Nya said.
"The greatest love stories do always end in tragedy." Her eyes closed and her hand fell.
No one spoke a word. The only sound heard was the crumbling of the ground. Jay cried as he held Nya. Nadakham grabbed his sword.
"I wish… You had taken my hand. And no one ever found that teapot in the first place."
"Ah…!" It was like another dart hit the Djinn. The sword dropped.

8 411Incursions
This blurb concerns Incursions book 1: Incarceration. If you could buy superhuman abilities, but they might kill you—or worse—would you do it? Ten years ago, in a world not so different from our own, people with powerful abilities appeared. The new powers were dangerous, dangerous to acquire—dangerous to have—dangerous to wield. World governments raced to find and eradicate the abilities and those who possess them while using the media to rule by fear. Whereas corporations sought to exploit the abilities for profit. Raz Owens was living the dream - a rising star at a job he enjoys, a girlfriend he loves, but it all comes crashing down when Raz disregards his late father's advice. He is pulled into a chaotic underworld of clandestine labs, shadow organizations, and super-powered criminals. Used as a human test subject in a place where few survive the day, he must last long enough to escape. His only advantage? A power that seems nearly useless—a heads-up display. Contains: monsters, violence, death, dismemberment, gamelit, superpowers, superpower consequences, good guys, bad guys, good guys who might be bad guys, bad guys who think they are good guys, good guys that might go bad, bad guys that might turn good, guns for hire, competence, incompetence, continence, incontinence, conspiracies, and some of what I just said wasn't true. This story is written in third person limited POV. That means you can expect to know many of the thoughts and inner dialog of one character, and only see the actions of other characters. This POV does include scenes without the main character, and thus the reader can and will know things the main character does not. Further, this means characters act on what they know, which is almost always less than the reader knows. Something else to know. These books do not hold your hand. If you're reading it and thinking "Gosh, why aren't 'they' doing some 'obvious' thing." Bad news. You probably missed something that explains exactly that. If you're seeking a light read that doesn't ask much of you as the reader, you're invited and very welcome to come on in, but this might not be the story for you.
8 145The Joy of Evolution
"Alright, so I have this idea, a completely original one by the way, never done before." I say. "Alright, lets hear it." You reply happily. "What if you got trapped in the body of a tentacle monster that looks like a virus in a world that is like a videogame, with skills and... whoops slip of the tendril there, what I meant to say is Mutations and Levels as you evolve your way up from being that lowly creature into a slightly better lowly creature, all the while, an evil devil person watches over you for entertainment purposes." I say making weird hand gestures across the table. "Oh and that main character used to be a human male and uses its past experience as one to survive in this new world as a little mass of flesh." I pull out a little ball with suction cup tendrils and show you. "So, what do you think?" " I dont know seems, a little sameish, I think Im gonna go." You say as you start to get up from your worn but still plush velvet chair. "Wait" I sigh, " I didnt want to do this but you leave me no choice, I promise you an extremely diverse harem..." The door closes as you leave. "They'll come back." I say hopeful. Cover: https://phil.cdc.gov/Details.aspx?pid=21073
