《Brother of Wind {book 6: Skybound}》chapter 5

Welcome to the dumbest thing the Ninjago justice system has every done. Placing the Ninja in jail. But thankfully, the brothers woke up amd could walk on thier own.
Because of constant shouting in the hall of the other prisoners, Nya was startled and tripped over her own feet. Jau was able to catch her but not before he fell always. Cole caught them both and put them back on their feet.
"Don't look scared, look mean. You gotta look hard in a place like this." Cole said, glaring at the people around him.
"Meat, fresh meat." The prisoners chanted.
"Ah!" Jay jolted back.
"Fresh meat!" The prisoners chanted again.
"Don't mind them, they all get a little grouchy when they don't get their meat." The Warden said. A cafeteria woman came out ringing a triangle, giving meat to the prisoners.
"Kryptarium Prison, we've been here before, but as guests, never inmates." Zane stated. Lloyd pulled on the shackles around his hands.
"You can try, but those shackles are made of Vengestone. Pretty good for shutting down your powers, and makin' sure you don't ghost out of here." The Warden said.
"This is a mistake! Your justice system is flawed!" Morro exclaimed, running forwards a bit. The Warden kept walking.
Cole tried to use his super strength to break the chains, but alas, he was trapped. His cuffs also had a Deepstone coating, preventing Cole from phasing through it.
"They aren't gonna break." Nya sighed. The people that the Ninja have previously put in this prison started to bang on the wall and make noise.
"And we're shuffling, we're shuffling." Cole said as he, and others started to do as Cole had previously mentioned.
"Since you're celebrities, I took the liberty of taking you out of the general population..." The Warden said.
"Ha! Who doesn't love special treatment?" Kai shrugged.
"...and placing you in the super mean and dangerous population."
They walked out to where they previously had fough Anacondrai.
"Real special, all right." Nya said.
"It's no problem, warden. We'll do our time until all of this is straightened out." Lloyd said.
"No, we won't! We were unjustly put in here!" Morro exclaimed, stepping forwards again.
"Without a comfession, you aren't supposed to throw us in here. Besides, we have physical evidence!" Morro shouted.
"Jay has some."
"Y-yeah!" Jay exclaimed.
"And we can tell you where we were the exact time you saw that fotage, even ask Zane! He's a Nindroid, it's in his memory!" Morro pointed.
"He could've deleted it when we were interrogated you." The Warden said.
"I assure you, I woild never erase my memory on purpose!" Zane ssid.
"Not that it would matter. You didn't even interrogate us." Morro raised his hand.
"He's not gonna listen." Nya said.
"Well, he should!" Morro shouted.
"Now get in your cell, inmates!" The Warden reached a cell on the main floor.
"Gosh, darn it, I forgot my keys again. Well, stay here while I go find them." The Warden ran off. He ran off, leaving the other prisoners to shout.
"A-at least they're locked up. Hehehehe…" Jay laughed awkwardly. The Mechanic pressed his robo-arm and all the doors slide open. He and the other prisoners surrounded the ninja.
"Nifty gadget. Did you make that?" Lloyd asked.
"They call me The Mechanic. And I got a bone to pick with you." The man said.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah." The prisoners stirred.
The Ninja exchanged glances.

"Well, that's one more bone than you've got in your entire arm." Lloyd said.
"I bet you barely have a spine in you as well." Morro added.
"Roasted by the brothers." Cole said.
"Ohhh. And I thought I was the Master of Fire." Kai covered his mouth.
"I used to repair noodle trucks for Master Chen and his underground organization. When you put him out of business, you put me out of business." The Mechanic said.
"Then by my observations, that was your own error. Working for a crime boss isn't a very reliable career choice." Zane stepped forwards.
"By my observation, actions have consequences. And you have to pay. This Nindroid here, it's got spare parts. I could use a few in a place like this." The Mechanic said.
"And I could use a spare arm! These chains won't stop us." Lloyd said.
"Oh my gosh, Morro what did you do to him? Lloyd's roasting people left and right." Kai exclaimed.
"Shut up or else I'll knock you out. Like Lloyd said, these chains won't stop me." Morro said.
Kai immediately shut his mouth.
"Got my keys! Oh, come on, knuckleheads. Shake hands and be friends." The Warden re-entered the situation.
"Just wait until I get my hands on your Nindroid." The Mechanic said.
'Wooo. Threatened on our first day.'
Morro sighed.
"I'm hating this tea thing more and more." Lloyd said.
"Let's hope Dareth gets us out of here soon. I don't know how much longer we can last in a place like this." Cole sighed.
. . .
Nadakhan lifted the Realm Crystal in the air, making a portal appear and a man fall out. Landing on the sand of the bay, the man stood up.
"Captain, I knew it was only time you'd come for me." He said.
"Flintlocke. As my most loyal first mate, let me be the first to welcome you." Nadakhan said.
"I know you'd been marooned for far too long. Is your gunpowder still dry?" The Djinn asked.
Flintlocke twirled his guns. Aiming at a group of birds and shooting, but they flew away. "You missed." Nadakhan sustained.
"Did I?" Flintlocke asked, placing his guns back in his holsters. A tree far in the distance, it's branches broke, making the leaves fall down.
"Ah-ha! You still got it. Well, what are you waiting for? Say hello to the rest of the crew." Nadakhan gestured behind him, where more members of his crew approached.
"Well, if it ain't be Doubloon. What's the matter, ain't happy to see me?" Flintlocke asked. Doubloon, a guy with a face strikingly similar to an oni mask, spun his facw around, making it seem more like a smile.
"Dogshank. Could use a muscle like yours where I've been." Flintlocke stepped aside. A large figure, blue skin a yellow eyes, her mouth covered with a mask, looked to her shoulder where a metalic monkey mounted and screeched.
"Go fix a turbine, Monkey Wretch. A flower. Forgive me, Lady Dogshank." Flintlocke handed it to the jacked woman.
"Never liked flowers." Dogshank grabbed the flower, letting it's petals scatter.
"And I ain't no lady."
"And last and definitely least, Clancee." Flintlocke sighed.
"I-I-It's good to see us all together, F-Flintlocke. I-I told everyone I met about you and how, how, how—" Clancee, the lime green serpentine stuttered.
"Clean my guns, will you, Clancee?" Flintlocke handed them out.
"I-I-I—" Clancee didn't get a say. Poor guy.
"So you got the band back together. My regrets Delara is not here to see this." Flintlocke turned back to his captain.

"She will be missed, my friend. Meanwhile, we should celebrate." Nadakhan said, pulling out the Realm Crystal.
"You've got the Realm Crystal." Flintlocke admired it's shine.
"We could go anywhere. Where to, Captain? The Straits of Tropicana, the Isles of Sunseto? Or perhaps we'll drink from coconuts in the Cove of Crystal Waters?" Flintlocke suggested.
"All of those sound nice, but I have the perfect place in mind." Nadakhan said. Flintlocke cocked a brow.
"Oh. Well, now you've piqued my interest."
. . .
Dareth entered the visiting center and was ready to have his eardrums destroyed by the Ninja.
"What are you doing to get us out of here!?" Cole shouted.
"This is no place for a Nindroid!" Zane exclaimed.
"I don't look good in stripes!" Kai slammed his hands down.
"They're all so mean! Help us! You have to help us!" Jay screamed.
"Shh!" Lloyd exclaimed.
"While we're stuck in here, the Djinn is out there." Lloyd whispered.
"I know, I'm doing everything I can. Borg wanted me to let you know that the Djinn broke into Hiroshi's Labyrinth Stronghold and took the Realm Crystal." Dareth said.
"The good news is everything else is accounted for. The bad news is the Djinn may now have his old crew back." He added. Lloyd turned back and handed the phone to Kai as he walked away.
"You have to get us out of here, Dareth. You're our manager. What are you doing to manage this?" Kai whispered. Lloyd grabbed Morro from the back of the room to the phone.
"What, did you have a plan?" Morro asked.
"Did you get the cake? I baked some tools in it for you to cut through the bars." Dareth whispered.
"Cake? We didn't get any cake." Jay said.
"Uh, how was I supposed to know there was something in it? I just thought it was crunchy." Cole shrugged.
"You ate our only way out!?" Jay screamed.
"That reminds me, how did you even het caught in the first place?" Morro asked.
"Ronin had heat vision." Cole replied.
"You... You have blood?" Morro turned to Cole. The Ghost looked at his hands.
"You sent him into an existential crisis." Nya ssid.
"Sorry." Morro shrugged.
"Well, what was your plan?" Dareth asked.
"My plan was to get a trial, but well, here we are." Morro said.
"Sounds like you're on your own. Be strong, little ninja." Dareth said.
"What do you mean on our own?" Kai asked.
"You're not leaving us in here!" Jay shouted. Dareth backed away.
"Wait, Dareth!" Kai pressed his hands against the glass.
"If anything happens to them in here, you'll have to answer to the Brown Ninja." Dareth told the Warden.
"If there's a Brown Ninja out there, maybe he belongs in here too." The Warden said with a smile.
"Uh, I'll give him the message. Gotta go."
. . .
The lunch lady serves the inmates food. She dumped the bucket on Kai's tray.
"A little extra since you're my favorite." She said to Kai.
"You said you wanted special treatment." Nya said.
"So the bad guys are out there, while the good guys are in here. It's not fair." Jay said.
"What was it your favorite movie character would say?" Cole asked.
"Fair isn't a word where I come from."
"The word was 'fear.' And if intergalactic space hero Fritz Donnegan was here, we'd already be out." Jay said.
"Ugh. Is this a muffin or a fossilized rock?" Cole hit the pastry on his tray.
"Earth Ninja, no one likes you. What's Earth anyway?" A lunch server scoffed at Cole.
"He's a Jay fan." The lunch lady said.
"Hi, guys, care for some ninja company?" Lloyd asked walking up to a table. But, all the people there left.
"Guess they can't all be fans." Zane shrugged.
"If your goal was to drive them away, it worked." Morro sighed.
"We may be out of the action, but that doesn't mean we can't take action. So what dol we know about this Djinn?" Lloyd asked to debrief everyone.
"Did someone say Djinn? You best not be speaking about Nadakhan the Djinn." Soto, a pirate approached the Ninja.
"His name is Nadakhan the Djinn?" Kai said, confused.
"Hey, it's Captain Soto. The first captain of the Destiny's Bounty." Jay said.
"And it's Jay, the whiny sniveling blue pajama man who says everything obvious." Soto said dryly.
"Why can't anyone here be nice?"
"But who be you? I don't know you. Are you a...uh...a pajama woman?" Soto asked Nya.
"Yes, you can say that." Nya shrugged.
"No. You look really familiar for some reason." Soto stared closer.
"Get to the point, you know about Nadakhan?" Morro asked.
"Know him? I was the one who caught him." Soto said.
"So you were the one who trapped him in the teapot? But how?" Kai asked.
"Catching a Djinn is harder than steering a galleon upstream in a storm with a leaky hull. But let me try to articulate me words so that you can visualize it." Soto said.
"Helpful." Morro said.
Long ago, me crew aboard the Destiny's Bounty, the finest ship ever built. Save one other: Misfortune's Keep. Nadakhan the Djinn was the most feared pirate of the high seas. Since he was from another realm, his powers were unmatched. He and his crew were always a step ahead.
"Load the cannon!" Soto shouted on the deck of the Bounty, being drowned in the rain. Anchors fired across decks and brought the ships together. The crew of the Misfortune's keep started to board the Bounty. In came a clash of swords as Soto snuck into the lower deck. He broke a chest lock and took out a teapot. The teapot of Tyrahn.
Behind the captain, another. Nadakhan has teleported into the room, raising four daggers.a
"The trick to catching a Djinn ain't be getting him into the vessel. It's making sure he don't poof away when you try to do it." Soto explained to the Ninja.
"Ha! Easy. Just wish him into it." Kai exclaimed.
"Easy? Everyone knows you can't wish for more wishes, you can't wish for love, and you can't wish to harm others. Wishing a Djinn into a teapot would most certainly fall into that category." Soto said.
"What do you mean you can't wish for love?" Jay asked. Cole and Nya stared at Jay.
"What? I'm asking for a friend. Heh." Jay said.
"What about resurrection?" Morro asked. The Ninja all looked to them.
"Laying out the rules, I need to know as much as I can." Morro shrugged.
"If the deceased is present, maybe." Soto said.
"Oh. Okay." Morro sighed.
"Don't let us stop you. You were just about to tell us how to catch a Djinn." Cole said.
"Certainly. To stop a Djinn, you must--" Soto got interrupted.
"Well, well, well. Looks like you saved us some seats. Now let's talk about those spare parts." The Mechanic walked up.
"Not now, Sprocket Arm. We're dealing with first tier bad guys here. You're fifth tier. Maybe fourth tier, tops." Cole waved him off.
"Fourth tier?" The Mechanic exclaimed, a bit humiliated.
"Look at that, pajama people, they have all the weapons. And you are chained." Soto laughed. More people started to back up the Mechanic.
"Chains don't hold back everyone." Morro said, standing up.
"Almost a fair fight." Cole added. The Njnja all stood up. And a fight began. A full on brawl. Man, these bros are smashing things.
One guard bit his apple and started to walk off.
"Wait, don't break them up yet. I love me a good fight scene. Popcorn?" A second guard pulled up the snack.
"Oh, in that case..." The other guard said.
Nya grabbed Kai's hands and spun him around, kicking most people back. Morro quickly stepped up to them, his hands in and looking very annoyed.
"So, how's the fight?" Nya asked.
"I'm just trying not to get hit." Morro replied.
"Where's Zane? I don't see Zane." Lloyd shouted, running up to them.
The Mechanic and a few others pinned Zane down.
"I told them I'd get my hands on you." The Mechanic said.
"Where's Zane? And where's The Mechanic?" Nya asked.
"Lloyd just said that." Morro said stepping aside and making hos way to the steps.
"Where are you going?!" Kai asked.
"To Zane! Apparently I'm the only one with good eye sight here!" Morro shouted.
"Oh. Look at all those spare parts." The Mechanic said, opening up Zane's chest panel. The Nindroid was out of commission.
"Brace yourself, Zane. I'm rerouting all existing power to your chest in three, two, one." Pixal said, an enormous amount of energy gathered near Zane's power source and blew away the people pinning him down.
"Thank you, Pixal." Zane said.
"Nobody touches my Nindroid." Pix replied.
"Zane!" Morro slid down to meet him.
"You good?" He asked.
"Enough." Zane nodded. Morro helped Zane up.
"Finish what you were gonna say. You said you knew how to catch Nadakhan." Lloyd said to Soto as he kicked a guy away.
"The only way to slow a Djinn long enough to catch one is with the venom of a Tiger Widow." Soto said, ducking a lunch tray.
"One drop is strong enough to kill a man or tire a Djinn, so he don't be poofing around."
"Tiger Widow? I've never even heard of one of those. Where do I find one?" Lloyd asked.
"You don't. They be the rarest of creatures, indigenous to only one island that's found on no map, but me own." Soto said.
"Then where's your map?" Kai asked, stepping aside so Nya could punch a guy away.
"All right, lunch crew, serve them up!" The Lunch Lady shouted, giving the previously mentioned stiff muffins to inmates to throw. And to the tables everyone went for cover.
"Uh, no more popcorn. I guess we should do our jobs." A guard looked in the container.
"The fun is over! No dessert for you. Take them back to their cells." The other guard shouted.
"Not the ninja. They go to the hole for starting this mess." The Warden entered the fray.
"Pardon me?!" Morro shouted, helping up Zane.
"You should punish him for dismembering Zane!" Morro pointed at yhe Mechanic being taken away. The guards didn't listen and pushed the Ninja away.
"Wait! Tell us where the map is. Soto!" Lloyd shouted to the Pirate captain.
"Break me out of this place and I'll tell you. You want the map? I want me freedom. Speaking of which, can anyone tell me where my leg is?" Soto said.
"I guess we could try to find this Tiger Widow on our own. In eight to ten years." Kai said. Lloyd carefuly move his hands to his side.
"Or we could bust out of here tonight and take Soto with us--" Lloyd was interrupted by Morro covering his mouth.
"What?" Lloyd asked.
"You know, there's a guard escorting you away." Morro said. Lloyd turned back.
"That was a joke! I was joking-- uh..."
'So, that's your plan?'
Morro pointed to Lloyd's pockets. Lloyd nodded.
'If we're gonna stop the threat, yes.'
