《Brother of Wind (ninjago au)》chapter 29 THE FINALE

The earth was shaking. The clouds were dark. The glow from the green venom set the mood for the day.
"You must do everything in your power to stop the great devourer!" Sensei Wu instructed.
"Go ninja. Go!"
Nya took off in her samurai x suit for the bounty. The ninja all nodded in agreement as the legendary serpent emerged from the ground. It rose tall, it's bright purple eyes gave a menacing vibe. Everyone took steps back, gazing at the newly awakened great devourer.
The great devourer took no time in to choosing who it's first targets were:
Sensei Wu and Pythor.
The devourer dove down towards the two, openening it's mouth wide. Pythor screamed as sensei had accepted his fate. As soon as anyone new it, Pythor and sensei Wu had been swallowed by the great devourer.
"Sensei!" Kai said.
"No!" Jay reached out his hand.
"AAAAAAAARRGHHH!!" Morro shouted as loud as he could.
"NO! FATHER!! AAAAHHHHHH!!!"
Morro took weak steps towards the center of the city.
The other four ninja stood there with a number of emotions. Anger, fear, confusion, sadness. This was the first time they've ever herd Morro call sensei "father", and this moment wasn't very bright or heartwarming.
Morro dropped his head down as he fought to keep his emotions in. The devourer roared once more.
"Ok, maybe if we stand perfectly still..." Jay said. Then he immediately turned a different direction and ran away.
"RUN!" Kai shouted grabbing Morro's hand and pulling him. The ninja all ran away. The bounty had landed just outside of the city.
The ninja raced to get to it, being followed by the great devourer.
Kai, still holding on to a drained Morro, pulled him to shake him out of his state. Jay tripped on a rock while running and fell behind.
He looked back and saw the huge serpent chasing after them.
"Wait! Wait for me!" Jay yelled at the top of his lungs and ran after his team.
Nya was running around the bridge, tapping the controls, while Lloyd stared out the window.
"Fire up the engines!" Nya said. Lloyd didn't hear it and kept looking out the window.
"I said fire up the engines!" Nya shouted. Lloyd hopped off the stool he was standing on and ran to the big computer.
"There's no wind! And we only have reserved fuel!" Lloyd informed.
"Use it!" Nya shouted.
The door to the bridge opened and the ninja tumbled in. Morro strait up fell on the ground and helped himself up using the wall. Jay ran to the monitor.
"Uh, hate to tell you this, but objects in the mirror are closer that they appear!" Jay said with an annoying tone.
"Working on it! Blasters on full!" Nya said. The bounty lifted up into the air and blasted off just as the great devourer was about to reach them.
"Whoo-hoo!" Kai yelled.
"Take that you stupid snake!"
This bounty didn't have tons of fuel, so they were flying pretty close to the ground. Up ahead, the great serpent broke out of the ground.
"Uh, I think it herd you!" Jay said.
Nya just barely steered the ship away from the Devourer's bite.
"Nya! We gotta to faster!" Kai told his sister as he saw the serpent hot on their tail.
"That thing is gaining on us!"
"Were going as fast as we can!" Nya called out.
"I'll try to make it to scattered canon!"
"The probability of us making it that far is less than 8℅!" Zane informed.

"Never tell me the odds!" Nya shouted.
"It's coming in for another attack!" Cole warned looking at the screen.
"Port side!"
Nya spun the wheel to the left pretty quickly as she had just dodged another attempt to bite.
"We're losing speed! We'll drop to the ground pretty soon!" Lloyd shouted, watching the levels go down.
"Throw everything overboard!" Nya commanded.
"What?!" The ninja shouted.
"We need to lose some weight!" Nya responded.
"Port side!" Lloyd shouted. The great devourer sprung up from the ground and took off the back left booster.
While Nya and Lloyd, along with Morro, stayed in the bridge, Kai, Jay, Cole and Zane immediately started to grab thing and throw them off the ship.
Morro, still weak and drained of energy, slowly got up.
"No! We shouldn't be--!" Morro couldn't talk. The feeling of loss overwhelmed his body and Morro dropped to one knee, still holding in some pain.
Outside, the ninja of destiny were throwing everything they could find.
"Man, he sure is hungry!" Jay said as he watched the great devourer eat up the things they threw off.
The levels were rising again, however, the great devourer didn't slow down.
"Does anyone else think the devourer looks bigger than it did before?" Jay questioned. As Jay asked, the great devourer quickly shedded it's skin and grew bigger.
"Guys! Stop! The more it eats, the bigger but gets!" Morro said just barely standing off.
"Don't thorow anything else overboard!" Cole shouted. The last thing that was thrown off, was sensei Wu's teapot.
"Phew. We made it to scattered canyon! Hold on!" Nya announced as she flew into the winding paths. The bounty flew around many turns, constantly making unessesary cuts, only to try and get rid of the great serpent chasing them.
Kai ran to the front of the deck, scouting out the place.
"Ah! We lost him!" Cole exclaimed.
Karma hit. The great devourer suddenly appeared in front of the ninja and hit the whole ship with it's tail.
The residents inside were thrown around as the alarms went off like crazy.
"Abandon ship!" Nya shouted. The inside was falling in on itself as the bounty crashed onto the ground. The ninja tumbled around like clothing in a laundry machine. Jay crashed into the window and broke it, falling out onto the deck. Everyone else ran out.
"Goodbye old friend." Zane said to the ship, carrying Morro with him. The ninja used their elemental vehicles, while Nya took Lloyd on her samurai suit.
The bounty crashed down and finally came to a stop. The team all gathered to see the down fall of their home. AGAIN!
The great devourer rose out of the ground. Without hesitation, Jay sped off, the others followed shortly after.
They made it to a small nearby cave and hid under it. The devourer took the ship in it's mouth and crushed it with one bite.
"No!" They all exclaimed. Morro looked emotionless but had scattered breathing. Inside, his anger, his sadness, all his emotions were kept locked up. Morro dropped to the ground in defeat.
"Unh, it's gone." Cole sighed.
"Ah! That was too intense! All that action, makes you so thirsty!" Kai said taking deep breaths.
"There's no time to rest! We need to warn people before it becomes bigger." Zane said getting up.
"Morro?" Nya approached the wind ninja on the ground. Morro said nothing as he grabbed his staff and raced off to sit on top of the cave the ninja were hiding in.

"Bigger? Bigger! That thing in one big bite crushed out entire ship!" Jay yelled.
"We need to save as many as we can! Uh, uh, we'll find some kind of refuge." Jay paced around talking quite quickly.
"Somewhere safe to hide. Ooh! The serpentine tombs! Yeah! They're underground! Sure, we'll be without sunlight for days, but they're perfect!" Jay concluded.
"And what?! Just give up?" Cole shouted.
"You know as well as I do, we have no chance at stopping that thing!" Jay swatted away Cole.
"Will everyone shut up?!" Nya shouted.
"Your friend, your brother, Morro has just been suffering, even at this moment and all you do is fight?!"
The ninja stayed silent.
"I can't believe you! If none of you are checking on him, I'm going myself." Nya said and started to climb up the small cave.
"She's right. Listen to yourselves." Kai pushed Jay and Cole away from each other.
"This isn't right. Is this was sensei Wu would have wanted? Us fighting? Running and hiding? Giving up?!"
"But he's not here anymore." Lloyd said.
Even though separated from the group, Morro could hear Lloyd say that. He tucked his knees into his chest and stared at the open desert.
"It's okay to cry." Nya sat down next to him.
"I'm not crying." Morro said looking away.
"It's okay. I understand. You lost your father and your home. There's nothing wrong with letting it out." Nya said.
"It's not that easy." Morro said.
"Are you okay?" Nya asked. Morro lowered his head.
"Hey, really. There's something wrong isn't there?" Nya presumed.
"It looks like you lost your ability to express."
"Like I said. It's not that easy. Emotion, I mean." Morro said turning away.
"But I've seen you have emotions." Nya said.
"That's only in times when I can't hold back. When I'm really...uh... When it's urgent." Morro said.
"... Then this is urgent. You just experianced loss. Nothing will hold you back now. Its okay." Nya said.
Morro buried his head into his knees. Nya couldn't hear anything, but she new that Morro was letting this out.
"Thanks Nya." Morro stood up and jumped back down to the others. Nya followed.
"You okay?" Kai asked.
"Okay." Morro said. Lloyd went up to hug him. Morro ruffled his little brother's hair.
"Listen, sensei may not be here, but his teachings live on." Kai said.
"Sensei one told me it's not the size of the ninja in a fight, but the size of the fight in the ninja." Kai said making a fist.
"All this training, all of the battles we've had with skeletons and the serpentine. We've persevered through so much, we can't just give up now!" Kai said trying to uplift their spirits.
"A ninja never admits defeat. A ninja always picks himself up when he is down!" Kai walked over to the group.
"Which is exactly what sense Wu would have wanted us to do right now!"
"But how do we destroy a snake of that magnitude?" Zane asked.
"Yeah! It's not like we have an extra sacred flute lying around to charm it! Or wait, heh. How about one of our awesome dragons? Oh, I forgot. They took off and left us high and dry!" Jay said very dramatically.
"Oh hey! What about out golden weapons? Which will do nothing against a snake that size!" Jay continued to ramble.
"Ah, Jay's right. We would need a weapon so big." Cole said.
"Hmm, but if I recall, someone has a recorded memory." Morro said looking at Zane.
"I have an idea that's even bigger!" Kai said.
"Ha! Jay! Morro! You guys are geniuses! You thinking what I'm thinking?" Kai jumped up.
"No." Jay played down.
"We use Zane as a weapon?" Morro said.
"There's no time! I'll fill you guys in on the way!" Kai started to run.
"Wh-- Where are you going?" Jay asked.
"We're gonna destroy that snake once and for all!" Kai shouted.
-somewhere else-
In the forest, all the serpentine were gathered at the entrance to the fangpire tomb to seek shelter.
"Why did we listen to Pythor?" The fangpire general questioned.
"Unleashing the great devourer was a horrible idea. It's all your fault!" They accused Skales.
"How was I supposed to know he was mad?" Skales said.
"You were his right hand man! You should have known better. The devourer will eat us all!"
The trees around fell down as the ground shook. The great devourer was near. The remaining serpentine jumped into the tomb as fast as they could. The two generals fought who would go in first. The tomb was closed and the serpentine were locked up underground again.
-Back to the ninja-
Kai had lead everyone to the junk yard where Jay grew up.
"Good idea Kai. If the devourer likes to consume, this place is a full on buffet!" Cole said.
Jay knocked on his parent's door to name sure they were gone.
"Looks like my parents are gone." Jay said.
"Good, better for us!" Kai played out a blueprint on a broken down car.
"So uh... Are we gonna use Zane as a weapon?" Morro asked.
"Nope, were gonna use his memory!" Kai said.
The group crowded around the blueprints. On it was a large vehicle. Five seats for all the ninja, tons of weapons and pretty cool design.
"It's so awesome!" Jay said.
"Well Zane? You have the recording of the flute right?" Kai asked.
"It might have been destroyed earlier, but I have its exact tone recorded and ready for playback!" Zane played the frequency.
"Good, and there should be enough spare parts around here to build this copper!" Kai said looking around.
"But we're gonna need to create our biggest tornado of creation yet. This is gonna be dangerous and we can't have anyone around." Kai informed.
Just on time, someone came. It was the mail man, he was on his bike delivering a few things.
"Argh, what's he doing here?" Cole sighed. Kai and Jay ran up to him.
"Aah! You ninja are always sneaking around, giving people heart attacks. You're too quiet." The mailman said.
"Sorry, didn't mean to scare you. But you need to get out of here, now!" Kai said.
"Uh, well, I too have a job to do, and that's delivering the mail, which I plan to do." The mailman took out some letters and walked up to the Jay's parent's camper.
"Look, dude, my parents aren't even home." Jay snatched the letters.
"And really, you should leave as fast as you can." Morro ran up to them.
"Ah! There's more of you?! Geez!" The mailman said annoyed.
"Wait, them too? Uh, let me guess, are they at the "take back Ninjago" rally too?" The mailman asked.
"Uh, take back Ninjago rally?" Jay asked as the rest of the group aproached.
"You guys haven't herd? Everyone's getting together for a rally in the city. To raise awareness about all the serpentines problems that have been surfacing lately." The mailman informed.
"Woah, would you look at that! You guys are inspirational!" Lloyd said.
"Wait a minute, you know what? You guys are right. Where ever you guys are, trouble is always around the corner." The mailman said.
Behind him, the ninja could see the great devourer. The readied their stances.
"I think I'll be leaving now. Whatever you guys are up to, I want no part in it." The mailman turned around to see the giant serpent behind him.
"Snake!!" He yelled as he dived into a trash can.
Behind the ninja, the devourer saw the piles of scrap.
"Hey! Over here!" Kai waved to get its attention.
"It's now or never guys!" Kai said.
The ninja flipped their hoods on.
"Ninja-go!"
"Fire!"
"Earth!"
"Wind!"
"Lighting!"
"Ice!"
The five ninja combined their spinjiztus into one and made the tornado of creation. It took in all the parts nessisary, and when it stopped, the ninja were string in their new vehicle.
Cole, Jay and Kai were all in one compartment, Morro was in his own in the middle and Zane was at the back.
"Zane! Now!" Kai shouted. Zane took the controls in his hand and fired the flute frequency at the snake. The great devourer just however, dodged it.
"Zane! What was that? This isn't target practice!" Cole said.
"You're supposed to hit him, not give him a hair cut!"
"May I remind you we just magically whipped up this heap of junk!" Zane said annoyed.
"Well I hope one of us created a reverse feature, because...." Kai started.
"Reverse!" Kai shouted. The devourer was going in for an attack.
"How's this for reverse?!" Cole shouted and the ultra sonic raider jolted backwards. Cole then changed gears again to avoid all the attacks.
Zane shot again and missed. Cole drove out and behind the devourer.
"I need your help holding him in place!" Zane said.
"I'm on it!" Jay said while signalling to Morro.
"Oh, I hope these controls work!" Morro said as he typed on the controls in front of him.
Two grapples shot out from the side of the raider and pulled the great devourer down.
"Yes!" The two attacking exclaimed.
"Zane before it gets away! Now, Zane! Now!" Kai shouted.
"Take the shot!" Kai urged.
"Charm your way out of this!" Zane said as he shot the frequency at the devourer. It hit and the serpent roared in pain.
"It's working!" Cole said.
"It's got a weak spot!" Kai noticed a glowing green spot on the snake's
Forehead.
"What?!" The others shouted.
"It's got a--" before Kai could repeat himself, the tail of the great devourer sprung up behind the ninja and struck Zane's cockpit.
"Zane!" They all shouted. The devourer decided it had enough and slithered away.
"Is everyone okay?" Cole asked as they all got out.
"Where's Zane?" Lloyd asked running up to them.
"Right here." Zane said pushing some rubbled off of him.
Half of his faceplate broke off and showed his parts inside.
"That was close." Zane said.
"Way too much." Morro said helping Zane up.
"Great! That was a total failure!" Jay said.
"Not total." Kai said.
"Did you guys notice on his for head? It has a weak spot!" Kai said.
"Oh great, let me take a note of that. Giant snake, has wee itty-bitty weak spot, the will be TOTALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO GET AT BECAUSE THE THING IS TOO RIDICULOUSLY HUGE TO DO ANYTHING TO STOP IT!" Jay shouted.
"Are you done?" Nya asked. Jay took a deep breath.
"Yes."
"Because things just got worse. Look." Nya pointed to the snake slithering away to Ninjago city.
"It's heading towards Ninjago city!" Zane said.
"That's where my parents are!" Jay said.
"So is everybody else!" Cole said.
"This won't be good. We'll be at a complete disadvantage!" Morro said.
"If it consumes the biggest city in all of Ninjago!" Kai finished.
In Ninjago city, the previously mentioned rally was in motion.
"Hey, hey! What do we say? We want snakes to slither away!" Was the chant that was being shouted.
The TV news was there, there was a quartet playing, and what seemed like more than half of the city was there.
In the subway security, one guy found something come up.
"Huh. That's strange. The system is seeing there's a train entering the city on track 9"
"Uh, we don't have any trains entering on track 9." The other, more layed back said.
In the subway, the people waiting on track 9 were greeted with the ground shaking.
"Well, there's something big coming our way!" The two guards pointed.
In the subway, what seemed like a train approaching, was actually the great devourer. The civilians yelled and ran away in fear. The snake bursted out of the ground and had entered Ninjago city. It scared away the people at the rally as well.
Jay's parents, who were there, jumped into their car. Ed tried to drive away but the car wouldn't start. The snake eyed the couple.
Just then, the ninja, in the raider, arrived at Ninjago city.
"Mom? Dad?" Jay jumped out of his seat and ran to his parent's aid.
"Leave my parents alone!" Jay shouted as he charged up his nunchucks.
"Lightning!" Jay attacked the devourer for it to slither away and attack others.
"Fire!" Kai jumped in front of it and shot fire in its tracks. The TV reporters was for some reason still there and recording.
"Are you getting this?" The reporter said.
"Camera rolling!" The camera man said.
The view then got blocked by their own vehicle being lifted up by Cole.
"Mind if I borrow this?" Cole launched the truck at the snake.
"Go ninja, go!" The reporter said as the team regrouped.
The devourer launched its tail at the ninja.
"Ice!" Zane shouted and froze the tail in its tracks.
"Wind!" Morro yelled as he sent a powerful blast of wind, sending the devouer's tail away.
The stake roared.
"Uh, I think we only made it madder!" Jay said.
