Two: It's information you, the reader, need to know before the main story can really get started. Namely, the "secrets not even the gods know about".

From then on, it'll be Monday - Friday. Important Note: It's written in a style of a 'Chinese-translated-to-English' type of story. I get the confusion in the earlier chapters, however– NO harem.
