《Origami King: The After-Fold》Refolded

-------------
A man in a black jumpsuit was climbing up an almost mountain-like hill.
"Come on... I saw them float over here somewhere." The man mumbled to himself.
He reached the top and let out a shout of triumph.
"Haha! I found you two!" He exclaimed, "One step closer to finding him..."
He picked up two papers, one purple, and one yellow, and began to fold them.
-------------
A knocking came at the Mario brother's door.
"I'll get it!" Luigi exclaimed.
Luigi quickly got up and rushed to open the door. He opened the door, expecting someone, but no one was there. Luigi shrugged it off and was about to head inside until he caught a glance of something... colorful. He looked down and his jaw went slack.
On their porch step laid Olivia and King Olly.
"M-Mario!" Luigi called into the house.
"Huh? Who is it, Luigi?" Mario asked.
Mario came running to the door and gasped.
"B-but... How?" Mario asked in wonder.
"I don't know! But we should probably get them inside!" Luigi exclaimed.
Luigi picked up Olivia and Mario picked up Olly and rushed inside.
-------------
"Ugh..."
"...Olly..."
"Huh..?"
"OLLY YOU'RE ALIVE!"
"Wha-?!"
Olivia tackled Olly into a tight hug.
"OOF! Olivia? Is that you?" Olly asked.
"Yes, it's me!" Olivia exclaimed.
"I-I thought that I was scrapped!" Olly replied in disbelief.
"You two were scrapped!"
Olivia and Olly looked over to see Mario and Luigi standing there.
"Mario, Luigi!" Olivia exclaimed cheerfully.
"W-where are we? W-what do you want?" Olly stammered.
"Don't worry, Olly! We aren't going to hurt you!" Luigi quickly replied, "You know what you did was wrong, and we forgive you! Right, Mario?"
Olly gave him a tearful look and Mario nodded.
"Y-yeah, sure," Mario replied hesitantly.
Olly sighed as he leaned back on the sofa he was placed on.
"Why did it have to end like that..." Olly muttered, "Why was I refolded? I sacrificed myself with the intention to STAY gone!"
"No! I'm happy that you're okay, brother," Olivia told him with another hug.
"I demand to know who dared refold me!" Olly exclaimed.
"Well, I would like to know so I could thank them," Olivia replied.

Luigi rubbed the back of his neck.
"That's the thing. We don't know who did..." Luigi told them.
Olly raised an eyebrow in confusion.
"Then how did we get here?" Olly asked.
"You were just... on the doorstep," Luigi stated.
"You didn't see anyone?"
"Nope."
Olly leaned back onto the couch he was laid in.
"To fold us back they would need to have love in every fold... Who could have that but be so willing to leave us on your doorstep?" Olly asked.
"Well, I'm sure that they had a good reason," Olivia stated.
Olly scoffed.
"I shall go find him-"
"Or her."
"Myself!" Olly finished.
He went to stand up but fell backward.
"Brother!" Olivia exclaimed.
"Urk... Ow." Olly said through gritted teeth.
Olly looked down to see that he had a rip near his upper chest.
"Ngh... Must've happened during the fight..." Olly muttered.
"You should get some rest!" Luigi exclaimed, "Here, I can get you and Olivia a room."
Olly started pulling himself off of the sofa.
"N-no. I'm fine." Olly told him.
Olly lurched forward and Olivia floated up to catch him.
"Olly. People might still be a little scared after what you put them through," Mario said, "You should lie low here for a while."
"Ngh... Fine." Olly grunted.
"Let me show you to a room!" Luigi said.
Olivia helped Olly walk down the hallway. They followed Luigi down the hall to a spare bedroom.
"Here! I know Mario doesn't really trust you that much. But I'm always for second chances!" Luigi exclaimed, "You can stay here for as long as you need!"
"Thank you, Luigi!" Olivia chirped.
Luigi walked off and Olivia helped Olly into the room. He tried to walk over to a bed by himself.
"I'm fine, Olivia. You don't need to bother." Olly told her.
He limped over to one of the beds and got into it. Olivia flew over and tucked him in.
"But I DO. I wasn't there for you before and look what happened. I'm staying by your side." Olivia stated.
"Olivia... Why am I like this?" Olly asked.
"Huh?"
"Why am I so proud? So entitled? None of these flaws would even make a difference if I didn't have these abilities." Olly stated, "How did we get this magic? Surely the Origami Craftsman didn't have any. Where did our paper come from to make me like this?"

"Sh, sh, sh... You're asking too many questions, brother. Get some rest, please. It doesn't always have to be a fight..." Olivia told him.
Olly wanted to continue arguing but sleep quickly took hold of him and he drifted into a dream.
---------------
"I'm sorry brother. I had no choice..." Olivia whimpered, "Oh, but your poor body is all crumpled now. Maybe I went too far..."
Olly coughed as he tried to sit up. He was terribly beaten up from the fight.
"No, Olivia. That hammer attack was divine. You put everything into it... And it was enough to awaken me from this dark dream." Olly stated, "I was too proud. Too entitled... My heart was blitzed. My path was creased... I was a mess."
Olivia peered under his shirt.
"Wait... what's this? On your belly?" Olivia pointed out.
"Oh... *Cough* It hurts to move, but... That is the cause of all this madness. The careless scrawl that Toad marked me with..." Olly muttered, "Read it for me, will you? I must know what is written there... What words of gibberish mark this foolish body? Please... I could use one last laugh."
"Okay, um. Let's see..." Olivia started, "'Dearest Olly, may you grow into a fair and kind king.' ...It's not just a scribble. It's a very sweet message from the Origami Craftsman. He just wished you the best as a new king..."
"Ha. HA." Olly chuckled, "AHAHAHAHA! Oh, I've been a terrible king. To think, this is how I repay his kindness. I just became so blinded by rage. I did so many unforgivable things... I'm so sorry that Princess Peach and Mario became caught up in this."
Olly struggled to sit up and took Olivia's hand.
"Olivia... There's something you must do for me. Please accept these 999 cranes. And then fold my body into the 1,000th. When the last fold is complete, you will gain the ability to have any wish granted. I don't suppose it will make up for everything I've done, but it's all I have left." Olly told her, "I'm begging you, Olivia. Do this for me."
With one last gasp of air, he leaned back and unfolded.
"BROTHER!" Olivia cried.
" NO! NOT AGAIN!" Olly exclaimed.
He immediately calmed down, realizing that it was only a nightmare. Olly sighed as he looked over at his sleeping sister.
"I can't let history repeat itself. I need to find out where my paper is from." Olly stated.
Olly slowly got out of his bed and looked around. Mario would surely not allow him to leave any time soon, so the door was not a viable option. He looked up and saw an open window. Because of the rip in his paper, he couldn't float, but that won't stop him.
Olly took the blankets from the bed he was in and fashioned them into a rope. He threw one end out of the window and tied the other end to the bed's leg and began to climb.
"It's time to pay a visit to the Craftsman," Olly muttered.
"Let's go!"
Olly flinched and almost fell to the floor.
"Olivia?! Why are you awake?!" Olly exclaimed.
Olivia floated over to him.
"Well, if I can't stop you, I might as well come along to make sure you don't injure yourself anymore," Olivia claimed.
"I don't need you to come along," Olly claimed.
"Olly, please."
"" Olly shouted, his eyes flashing a purple color.
Olly shook his head and sighed.
"I'm sorry, but I don't want you to get hurt again," Olly murmured.
Olivia placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Please. I want to know where my paper came from as well. And I don't want to lose you again. I can help!" Olivia said.
"I don't need your-"
Olly lost his grip on his rope and Olivia caught him.
" You can come..." Olly muttered.
"Yay! Let me leave a note for Mario and Luigi." Olivia exclaimed.
She quickly scribbled a note and floated out the window.
"Let's get going!" Olivia squealed.
Olly clambered up the blanket rope and heaved himself off of the windowsill. Olivia and Olly began their trek to find the Origami Craftsman.

My father scolds me sharply. I flinch at the anger in his voice and quickly retract my hand, inches from the trunk of the tree. "Sorry father, I couldn't help it. The trees are just so beautiful," I whine turning towards him. His face softens slightly and he scoops me up into his muscled arms. I wrap my small arms around his neck and bury my face into his shoulder. He hugs me tightly and carries me away from the forest. "Why can't we go into the forest?" I ask, looking over his shoulder to see the red and gold leaves slowly disappear from view as we climb the hill. "The forest is a dangerous place," he sighs.
