《Mianite: Unitended》Unwanted

"What is he doing up there-", the M on Mianite on the temple fell cutting me off. "Oh".
"No, no, no, no", Tucker started wading through the bay as Sonja ran after him. She pulled him back as he reluctantly pushed away still scared for the temples life.
"What the hell are you doing", she let go of his arm forcing him to the ground.
Hope shook her head as the mianites argued. Tom tried to haul the the huge golden M that must have weighed a couple of tons. "The mianites and dianites never change do they", she looked up at me.
I tried to think of something smart and witty to say back.
"You sit there Tucker and I'll go solve this issue before you get more gray hair", Sonja cut me off. She sat Tucker down and walked around the bay to get to Tom.
Tucker slumped down on a rock as me and Hope stood there slightly judging the fighting of Mianite and Dianite, like we normally do.
"Sooo", I started to change the subject which was really difficult because you could faintly hear Sonja and Tom fighting in the background. "How have yea bee-"
"It's been three months since Mianite and Ianite won the war against his God and he still doesn't listen to us", Tucker yelled turning the subject right back around to something me and Hope didn't want to talk about.
"Err it's Ianite and then Mianite", Hope put her hands on her waist. "You got the order wrong".
I nudged Hope to knock it off and try to change the subject again. She glared back at me not getting the message. I nudged her again then glancing my vision to Tucker. She mouthed the words 'what' to me.
"Hope", I whispered. I pointed to Tucker that was still looking down at the grass, pouting.

"Ohhhhhh", she started smiling like a maniac when I got the idea. "Alright".
She sauntered over to where Tucker was and stood there. "Hey Tucker", she hit him on the shoulder. He didn't look back at her. "Whatcha getting me for my birthday".
"Hope"
She shushed me and turned back around to Tucker. "Causé I really want a cat".
I shook my head. Since two months ago Hope saw a flier with some special type of cat on it. She wouldn't let it go. "You are not getting a cat Hope", I cut in.
She sighed. "Why not, you got a pet".
"I don't have a pet"
"What about that big glob of green stuff that is in the house".
"That's jelly".
Hope's eyes widened. "Ohhhhhhh, that's why it's always in the fridge".
I started to hear Sonja and Tom walking back around the bay.
"You are not getting a cat Hope. You'll kill the thing before you even get it home".
"Yo, guys what's up", Tom ran over. Sonja glaring behind him. "I just need to say that the M falling off totally a acciden-"
"Your going to go to the priest", Tucker jabbed his finger at his chest,"and your going to explain what happened because we are in charge of you now".
Me and Hope gave each other a horrified look.
Tom laughed, "Really, I don't remember the conversation being like that. I wasn't in Dianite during the war".
"Your in Dianite now and that's enough!"
"Well we will just have to see what the priest answer is"
"I guess we will", Tom and Tucker argued on.
I just wanted my cat. One that's fluffy, black and white, had a stubby tail. Just like on that flyer. Of course there are no places in Mianite to get cats, maybe if you build a boat and then find and island, or make a prayer with the God. Maybe there are some wild cats around but most of those have probably been eaten by the wolves-

"C'mon Hope were going to the priests", Sonja signalled me over.
Sonja took my hand and we went around the mine entrance to the priest house. The one with the huge wall on it, that I used to climb and run to the woods. Then I would get in trouble, then get grounded, then I would sneak out again. Usually the second time I snuck out, I would bring my bow.
"I don't believe that bringing the priest into this is a smart idea", Jordan tried to stop the idea, walking in front of me and Sonja, with Tucker and Tom.
"Don't think it's a good idea bringing me into what?", the priest walked out of the gate that he had lately been leaving open.
"Priest Declan", Tucker started his tattle off, "I was being responsible and watching the temple when this spawn of hell-"
"Oh really being responsible and 'watching' the temple", Tom put airkwots around watching.
"I left for one second-"
"Oh really, now did you. Because I counted 31 minutes and 28 seconds", Tom pursed his lips.
The priest had the same face Jordan did, slightly amused. "Ok, ok hold on".
"Sonja was a witness and she can explain everything", Tucker kept on glaring at Tom.
Sonja held out her hands. "I'm not involved".
I started tuning them out. Tom's excuses and Tucker's whining turned into mumbles. I sat down on a rock getting sleepy, the sun was starting to set. I laid down setting my back on the rock and closed my eyes.
I threw Tom and Tucker's arguing away and started listening to the newly budding spring leaves against the wind, until I felt whiskers against my nose. I must really want a cat, I'm going insane. I felt the feel of fur on my forehead. Wait a minute. I opened my eyes. A brown and yellow tabby cats glowing eyes were staring right at me.
I gasped which made the cat back up. "Shhh, no it's ok". I rolled onto my stomach. I started to slowly stand up,"don't move".
The cat arched it's back and hissed at me. I slowly edged towards it. "Please".
The cat started to run away. "No kitty!". I started chasing after the cat.
"Hope what are you doing!?" Jordan screamed from over with Tucker and Tom.
I turned around running backwards. "I'm getting my kitty since you won't get it for me".
"The problem isn't the getting of the cat. You don't need a cat!"
I didn't listen. My eyes were still fixed on the cat.
"Hope, No cat", he seemed pretty upset. "NO CAT".

At The Precipice
Defenseless. Scared. Alone. That describes the life of Brock Carter as of late. Following his ‘death’ at the hands of a vicious magpie, Brock is rescued by the machinations of the newly instated, all-powerful System and thrust knee-deep into a brutal world catered only to the strong. Fluctuating between two states of being and trapped within a city ravaged by time, he is told to either seek out the mysterious ‘Source’, or die trying. He just hopes he can do it without scuffing his expensive suit in the process. ***** Honestly, I've just always wanted to write a story. I had a crack at it a few years back, but the entire thing fell apart before it even began. At The Precipice was originally written as a way for me to destress and play with System elements and characters, but eventually I decided that if I was gonna write, why not post it too? Writing's just a hobby of mine, so don't expect this to be at published novel level, I guess, or even anything of relative polish. Updates every Mon-Tues-Wed-Thurs-Fri Average chapter length is 2000 - 3000 words ***** What to expect: - A semi-comedic/light tone, mixed in with a gritty world and brutal survival (not ever grimdark though) - An MC that thinks about what he's going to do and why he'll do it, even if his internal logic is lacking. Is a rather rational person, not often influenced by his emotions, but can be in extreme situations. - A plot heavily focused upon the MC, but one that will branch off to envelope the other characters in the world at times. Often, it's just other people's perspectives of him. - A story of power growth. While the MC is certainly going to be powerful, even over 100 chapters in from what I've written, he still isn't the strongest being on Earth, let alone the entire Multiverse. - Lots of gore, vivid fight descriptions, and often times deaths of people, some even somewhat important to the story ***** Things this story will never have: - Harems - An edgy, villainous MC - An MC that does jackshit about things for 'plot reasons'
