I was almost done working on the sword. My lab was impressive. Most things were made out of the sheet metal from Hope's old area. The computers were powered by the Wriders hearts, and how I got them to run. That's still my little secret.
I had three, not really computers, around that were going to get the special applications on my glass sword.
The glass actually wasn't glass. I mean the main part of it was, but the sword had pieces of the Wriders heart in it. By the same way the watches are put together, the sword and the computer can be put together. I put some of the Wriders heart in my glasses as well so I could use the applications everywhere.
Hope was still asleep from her adventure. She had been drowsy for quit awhile. She didn't even care about the new arrows I made her. The idea of it was that she could twist of the flint on it and it was easy to take out, and inside the metal tube was whatever harvestables she needed from the kill. I also tightened the string of her bow.
I walked into the room where she was passed out on the double bed.
I was not sleeping on the bunk bed.
I threw all of my blueprints on the desk and grabbed Hope. She felt extremely hot, almost feverish. I put her down on the bunk bed.
I shook her. "Hope".
She moaned and twisted on the bed.
"You feel okay".
She didn't answer anything up, but she was definitely awake. I didn't know what to do so. "I'm going to get Sonja", I told her. I don't think she could here me though.
She looked paler than usual, which is really pale.
I walked over to the main gate where Sonja usually practices. When I got out there Tucker was standing by her and she was expertly throwing the knives into a piece of the wood on the side of the main gate.

I tapped her on the shoulder. "Hey Sonja".
She whipped around on her heels knife in her hand. I flinched. She put the knife back into the holster. "Yea".
"Hope felt kinda warm and". I hoped she would finish my sentence for my.
She crossed her arms. "I'm not a nurse", she put her arms to her side. "You know that's kinda sexist".
"No, no", I tried to save my skin. "I just thought because she was a girl, it might be a thing".
"She's eight", she said slightly laughing.
"Well yea".
"Just ask Tucker or Tom".
I walked over to Tucker that was by Tom. By the way Hope talked about them it's a miracle they weren't killing each other.
"Tucker".
He looked up from the files Hope got from the modsteps. They were everything Tucker needed so Tom got to stay. "Hey, it's sparkles", Tom looked up from the map.
"What". I hadn't heard that from him yet.
"What is it", Tucker said not looking up from the map.
"Hope felt sick".
"What do you want me to do". Tucker started tracing one area to another.
My mind blanked. I still wasn't good at talking at these people. "Help", I said bitterly.
He looked up glaring at me. "She not my responsibility, she doesn't want me to be her responsibility", he started raising his voice. "It's not my fault she's sick".
"Dude, Hope's sick". Tom butted into the conversation.
"Have you been here", Sonja yelled from the gate.
"No, I wasn't", he held up his head snubbing her,"but the whole banquet got sick".
Everyone started glaring at his stupidity. "And you let her go to the banquet", Tucker growled.
"And didn't tell us about the sickness", Sonja finished him off.
Tucker stood up from the ground and started walking into the table room.

"I swear Tom some day your stupidity is going to kill us all off", I trudged into Hope's room.
"I thought, you know, she wasn't prone to sickness", Tom said.
"She is prone to sickness", Sonja corrected him ignoring his past snub.
"Oh", he whispered under his breath. "I hope the kid's alright".
It was silent for awhile.
"Why is her name Hope". I turned around to see Jordan who was the one who asked the question.
Tom started walking backwards facing him. "When she lived with the priest she used to run out into the woods so much, they hoped the coyoteis would get her".
"That's not true". Sonja said. "She had that fever when they found her in the basket, they were hoping she would live".
Jordan didn't return anything back.
I wanted to tell them that they both had it wrong. That that was just her name. The one her mother probably gave to her, but it was useless. My life as I remember it was always filled with me taking care if Tom or Sonja, keeping them out of trouble. I was the leader of Mianite. Though Hope on the other hand never got into much trouble. She always slicked her way out of it with her humor and agility.
Jordan opened the door. "Hope".
She didn't return anything back.
Sonja walked into the room and felt her head. "She's boiling hot".
"What do we-" Jordan got interrupted by banging at the main gate.
Everyone fell silent as I tip-toed down the corner. I peered out of the door to see thousand of Dianites, led by Nadeshot and the Modsteps, at are door. I could have ripped Tom to shreds.
I stomped into the room. "Thomas Syndicate you better have a good godamn reason why-". I slowly stopped talking. He looked as terrified as me and everyone else.
"You didn't-"
He cut me off. "I swear Tucker this wasn't me".
"He's right", Sonja said something catching me off surprise. "He even said he had some medicine in his house for Hope, we can go ahead and-"
I looked at Tom. "Really".
He nodded his head vigorously.
"I'll go get the medicine right now". He stood up, but I was blocking the exit.
"I'll get the medicine", I said sternly for once wanting to sound stern.
I walked out to the hallway to get my horse and take the other way out. I could hear Sonja running behind me. When I stopped to get the horse saddled up she stopped. I turned around and faced her.
"What do you want us to do". She was being supportive. She's always supportive even when I'm acting like an ass.
I put the saddle on my white horse. "You and Jordan are going to wait here with Hope". I started leading the horse to the exit at the mines. "You also are going to get Tom to fix his royal mistake".
Sonja nodded her head. She didn't say anything. She just stared blankly at the door.
I got on the horse and without saying goodbye she shut the main exit.
