《Mianite- The Alternate Heroes' Journey》*Dianite's POV 2*

Before I get into the present time, let me back up a bit. It's been a bit since I've been able to explain my motives. In that time, I've changed a few of my plans. Everyone is always changing, and I've been able to take advantage of other weaknesses.

I'll start off with the biggest change- Sir Jeriah. I was originally planning on becoming close (in a friendly way) and then abandoning him at the last minute. He would be too attached to me to fight back with the same amount of anger, weakening both him and his team. It would have been a perfect plan... had my own weakness not got in the way.

You see, I have never really loved someone. In any way. Perhaps I loved my parents when I was a child, but that was so long ago that the feeling of loving someone has vanished completely. And, when you study a person for years on end, you start to notice the little things about a person that others seem to miss. Sometimes, if you're watching a very kind person, you start to notice things that they do that aren't so kind after all. If I had seen bad traits in Jeriah, I would have had no problem turning against him and killing him once the war arrived.

Unfortunately, Jeriah was not that type of person. As I had explained to him, the things I noticed about him had just made me... fall in love? Yes, that's right. I'm supposed to be the strongest being alive, taking advantage of the weak-willed. And here I was, falling in love with the person I was supposed to kill. I can't explain it either.

The new plan is to show Jeriah that there isn't anything wrong with being on Team Dianite. He already spends a lot of his time in the nether with me, and he now sees that these myths about the nether being "big and bad" are just sayings made up by Mianite and Ianite. Once I attack, I know that Jeriah would join my side. And even if he felt too bad betraying the others, he would be of no threat to me. And, just to prepare for the worst, I decided to kill him at any sign of treason. That's that cleared up, I suppose.

And for Alyssa? While I was becoming quite attached to the little girl as well, I found it much easier to betray her than Jeriah. Instead of getting her to join my side, which I fear that she will never do, I will simply use her as bait. It wouldn't be difficult to lure her into a situation in which I can capture her. She trusts me too much.

And now, I suppose, to the present time, in which it is time for my plans to unfold.

I was worried that the little girl would suspect something when I appeared in the daytime. I told her that it was because nobody was around (which was true, in my defense), and she accepted it easily. After all, why would the god of "evil" want to do anything other than help her tame ocelots?

"Anyway," I told her, my heart pounding with excitement, "There's another ocelot next to the priest's house. Perhaps you want to go tame that one too?" I tried to make it sound as casual as possible, and she bought it right away.

We walked, side-by-side, with the little cat following us, over to the stone wall. I was delighted to find that the ocelot I had mentioned was already sitting inside the wall, waiting for the plan to unfold. Alyssa immediately pulled out another fish from her (terrible-smelling) bag and held it out towards the cat.

"Here, buddy," she said in a sweet voice as the cat began to creep closer and closer. While she was distracted, I snuck behind her and over to the other side of the priest's courtyard. On top of a chest, I had laid out a pile of rope and a gag. All lumped together, it looked rather innocent. Nobody would suspect that I had laid it there with the intention of kidnapping Alyssa.

"Come get your fish," the girl cooed. "I won't hurt you, I pro..." With one hand, I grabbed the pile of ropes, and with the other, shoved her to the ground. She was unarmed, and couldn't even attempt to fight back unless she was standing.

"How handy," I laughed, relieved that things were going as planned, at least so far. The first thing I grabbed was the rope, and I bound her up as quickly as possible. She may have been small and fast, but centuries of practice makes your fingers quick and nimble.

"What are you doing?" the poor girl cried, trying desperately to escape her restraint. It was funny to watch her struggle, since she was absolutely no match against the thick ropes I had bound her with.

"Funny how you aren't obedient when your father, the man that you should trust, tells you to do something. Yet when the lord of chaos orders you to do something, you immediately do it!" I laughed as I grabbed the gag. "Funny how that works."

"DIANITE! STOP!" she began to scream, meaning I had to act quick before any of the others notice. "I NEVER DID ANYTHING TO Y..." I threw the gag into her mouth and tied it. Finally, the little brat was silent. I didn't need her spoiling everything.

"I agree," I said as I finished tying her up. "You haven't." With my work finally finished, I came out of spirit form. "But unfortunately for you, I don't care about anyone. I have them gain my trust, and then I use them before tossing them away. Want to know what your role is, Alyssa?" I leaned down and stared into her terror-filled scarlet eyes. "You're bait."

In the distance, I heard someone shouting. Panicked, I lifted up the little girl and jumped through the portal. The shouting had sounded like Mot's, and I knew he wouldn't follow me through the portal. Not after his last encounter with me.

"Lord Dianite!" the pigmen shouted upon me entering the nether. "What plan shall we go with?"

"Plan A is working so far," I made my voice echo throughout the nether so my entire army could hear me. "I have the little girl. The others are close by, so you'll need to attack as fast as possible. Once I give you the signal, all of you must climb through the portal and kill everyone. I will need backup. Also, in case Jeriah doesn't show up, go to Plan B. Understood?"

"Yes, Lord Dianite," the army responded in unison.

"Perfect." I grinned at the crowd. "Then, well, let the war begin!"

To the noise of cheering and battle cries, I jumped back through the portal with Alyssa in my arms.
