It took Suki a moment to realize what was happening. When she looked down, she saw the ripples her feet were making as she just stood there like it was nothing.
"Wha-what?! How is this-WHAT?!"
Kimi heard Suki's yelling and jogged over.
"Hey, Suki. You al- WHAT?!"
Suki looked back as she saw Kimi's jaw basically dropped, eyes popping out of her head.
"Suki?! What the hell?! How are you doing this?!" She shouted confused.
"I-I don't know!" Suki yelled back.
She looked back at the waterfall. There was the butterfly, just flying around in circles.
Was it..waiting for her? Did it want her to follow it?
Should she...?
"SUKI! GET OUT OF THERE!"
Suki looked at Kimi and then back at the waterfall.
It was if it were calling to her. The curious grip was tight in her. She just had to know.
So she ran. She ran head on into the waterfall.
"SUKI!" Kimi shouted.
Kimi was so confused. She didn't know what to do. Well, there was only one thing to do and that was to follow her.
Kimi hesitantly tried to dip her foot in the water. Her toe was just..there. Her foot wasn't even in the water.
She could do it too.
Now she knew she had to go after Suki.
I'm coming for ya Suk!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When Suki stumbled out of the other side of the waterfall, she was met with that toxic air, except to was more evident and disgusting. It was almost suffocating.
Suki whipped out her mask and quickly slid it back over her face.
"I can breathe again..." She mumbled.
She looked up at the world around her and it was absolutely...unreal.
The world was composed of black and toxic green. Rivers of ooze bleed down floating isles. It all look disgusting.
What is this place...?
"Woah!"
Suki felt something slam into her back and land on top of her.
"Ow..."
"Ugh..."
The heavy mass got up and so did Suki. The mass was Kimi.
"Kimi?!"
Kimi's expression was not so pleasing. She had her arms crossed and stared angrily at Suki.
"Uh...Kimi?"
"WHAT THE HELL, SUKI," Kimi snapped, "YOU DON'T JUST GO JUMPING INTO WATERFALLS WHILE CHASING SOME BUTTERFLY!"
"It was leading me here, Kimi!"
Kimi rolled her eyes in annoyance until she actually got a good look at the area around her.
"Woah...I don't think this was here before..."
Kimi's curiosity was cut short when the toxic air caught up with her and she fell to her knees.
"Kimi..put your mask on."
Kimi fumbled around her pocket and did so. Suki then helped her up.
"The air here is worse than in town..."
Suki nodded in agreement. The two looked around them. This couldn't be real...it didn't have to be real. This could all just be a dream, or maybe they just hit their heads or something! It couldn't be real!
Suki turned to see the blue butterfly flying around on another floating isle. Without reasoning, she sprinted after it.
"Wha-?! Hey! SUKI!"
ugh, not again...
Suki jumped over to the other isle, but missed and instead fell through the large gap.
"SUKI!!" Kimi screamed.
Suki clawed at the air as if were waiting for someone or something to catch her.
But nothing did.
Instead, she slammed hard into the ground, almost getting knocked out.
"Ow..."
"SUKI!!!"
Kimi fell to her knees and looked over the edge. It was a long drop down. Should she really risk it?
"Uh...don't worry, Suk! I'mma find a way to get you safely!" Kimi shouted.
At least..I think I can...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When Suki got some clarity as to what just happened, she tried to get up. She propped herself up on one shoulder but fell forward instead.
"Ugh! Can't...move...!!" She cried.
The pain was unbearable. She could hardly move. She was vulnerable.
She was just a sitting duck...especially now.
"Ha. Pathetic."
Suki looked up.

Standing over her was...Kimi? No, it couldn't have been Kimi. Kimi's eyes were dark brown..hers were a burning yellow.
"K-Kimi?"
"You know..I don't even know why I bothered with you..I could just run out of here and save myself..I can never do anything for myself. It's always you, you, you! But when is it ever about ME!"
The doppelganger walked over to Suki and kicked her hard in the chest, then grabbed her head and shoving it in the dirt.
"You're weak...I knew you were weak since the moment I laid eyes on you..."
'Kimi' was now stepping hard on her back with one foot and on ber head with the other, crushing her spine and skull.
"GAHHH!!!"
"SCREAM ALL YOU WANT! NO ONE CAN HELP YOU NOW!"
Suki suddenly heard it.
The voice.
The voice that was giving her head trauma worse than this fake Kimi.
"W-what?"
"But...i-I c-can't...I don't have enough strength..."
"...yes..."
please, call upon my name and heal the innocent!"
"Ugh! O-okay! H-help me....
Suki felt the giant rush of energy which all erupted into one mighty blast.
And then came
The blast had thrown 'Kimi' far from her. The power of Hegemony rushed through Suki. She felt powerful. She can feel this unbelievable strength-she wanted to lift a million pounds!
"How wonderful! Now use your new power to gain the advantage!"
It was like a skill set had been downloaded into her brain as she could now remember these skills and spells she never even heard of before.
"O-okay! Uh, Mangnara!" Suki shouted.
The Shadow Kimi was thrown into another isle.
"Woah...I can't believe I did that..."
"SUKI!"
Suki turned around and saw Kimi. The real Kimi.
"Kimi!"
Kimi ran over to her, but stopped at the sight of Hegemony and Shadow Kimi.
"What the-?! Who are they?!"
The shadow stood up and faced Kimi.
"Wha- are you....me?"
The shadow Kimi chuckled.
"Obviously not. But I could be....if you just let me take down this bitch myself!"
Kimi was taken aback.
"What...?"
"Oh come on! We both know It's true! You've spent your entire life caring more about other people and no one ever cares about you! And now you make friends with the new girl who almost got you killed! Let me finish her!"
Kimi growled. "NO! I WON'T LET YOU!"
The shadow scowled. "Is it really gonna be this way?"
Kimi took a defensive stance. "To get to her, you gotta get through me..."
"Very well then..."
The shadow was then shrouded in a green cloud.
It was changing.
It was evolving.
It was taking its final form!
"KIMI! GET BACK!" Suki shouted.
Kimi stood her ground. She was ready for a fight.
The shadow finally took its form.
(A/N: I couldn't find anything better)
Realizing that she couldn't take down a shadow like her, she tried to run, but pinned her down with the end of one of her weapons.
"Oh.no..you're not getting away that easy!"
"Kimi!"
"You pay attention to me!" The Shadow yelled, shooting an arrow at her.
The shadow missed.
"PERSONA!" Suki yelled, casting Tera on the shadow.
Minimal damage. Damnit.
"That the best you got?!" The shadow growled in a cocky voice, "Take this! GARUDYNE!"
The attack seemed to have barely even move Suki. A cocky smirk was left on her face.
"Mangnara!"
Critical hit. Yes!
"Just one more hit...just one more...one more hit...."
"You think you're so tough? Please!"
The shadow turned to one of it's faces and slashed Suki across the middle with its sword, knocking her out.
"SUKI!" Kimi shouted.
She got on her feet preparing for a fight. Her fist were clenched tightly, teeth gritted, body in a ready stance.
"HEY! YOU WANNA REAL FIGHT? I'LL GIVE YA A REAL FIGHT!"
"
Kimi catapulted herself at the shadow and threw a winding punch, but missed and fell to the ground. She kept going though. She was ready for a fight and wasn't going down easy.

Ursus Ex Machina
Ozzy was a man of the wild. Raised in a remote village atop the world's mightiest mountain, he'd been taught to respect and revere the natural world. The realm he was born into had been there long before him, and it would remain there long after him. Sure, there was the occasional madman who threatened to destroy it, but such boasts were always empty. No one individual was actually capable of demolishing this beautiful blue-and-green ball Ozzy called home. No matter what terrible magics these villains wielded, they were incapable of causing permanent harm to the environment. Even if the planet was completely devastated, it would recover. Life would find a way to flourish, same as it always had. That was what Ozzy believed from the bottom of his heart, so he never once felt the need to save the world he loved. After all, it was never truly in danger. The world would be fine no matter what. The people were a wee bit endangered, but that was another story altogether. However, what would happen if Ozzy suddenly found himself devoid of his beloved wilds? What would the man do if the realm he knew - one of wonder, magic, and chaos - was replaced with a man-made environment of concrete, industry, and steam? Ozzy could never imagine such a thing happening, and yet that was his new reality. After losing a fateful confrontation with a mad wizard, he and his friends found themselves transported to a strange world so thoroughly alien that every waking moment feels like a fever dream. Separated and scattered to the four corners of this land, each of these adventurers will need to adapt, survive, and overcome if they hope to reunite. They would also need to do so quickly. The sooner they are able to find one another, the sooner they can figure out a way back home and have another crack at putting an end to the villain's plans. Whether such a thing was actually possible in a world with barely any magic in it was a valid concern, but Ozzy had more immediate things to worry about. For instance, why did the air smell like a perpetual forest fire? How did ships sail through the sky as if it were water? And most importantly, was the pavement he was hurtling towards at high speed much softer than it looked? Probably not, but a man could hope.

What happens when the world changes, and heroes and villains are now bound by a System that limits their powers? What will change, and what will remain the same?
