Chapter 10

Eros's P.O.V.

Remus and I stood in the ballroom, after Violet had been taken to a room to recover. She had yet to regain consciousness, though we weren't concerned yet as we knew that she would have trouble coping with this. Her Uncle had his worries about the way she would react, however this was one of the best ways possible. Silently. As I thought over the events of the last few hours, Remus's voice pulled me out of my musings.

"Why are you being so hard on Violet?" Remus asked, making me sigh exasperatedly.

"You know why I dislike her Rem, we have been through this already. Witches and demons already were sworn enemies when they were created, but after the war, things only got worse." I stated, leaning against the wall with my arms crossed.

No one needs to tell me that I'm being hard on Violet, essentially because I already know I am, and I'm doing it on purpose. Besides, what's the use of befriending her when demons and witches have always hated each other's guts and aren't about to change that anytime soon?

"That's not a good enough reason Eros. Violet is an amazing girl." He snapped, "Just give her a chance." Remus pleaded, making me sigh once again.

I know that Violet is a lovely girl, but my father strictly ordered me not to communicate with her. I didn't know what he had in mind but I know it's definitely not good, and probably not going to end well.

My father had always hated witches, well at least for as long as I could remember. No one knew why though, not even me, his own son. I shook my head and rubbed my temples. What if my father found out about this? He would have my head on a platter! After thinking it over though, I looked at Remus and nodded slowly, making him smile brightly.

"I better not regret this, Rem." I warned but he only shook his head and wrapped an arm around my shoulders.

"Don't worry Eri, you won't." He stated with a chuckle.

"Stop calling me that!" I groaned, walking out of the room, whilst mumbling, "Curse damn vampires."

Violet's P.O.V.

As I slowly came around, I sat up and swiped at my eyes, hoping that would make everything I had seen over the last twenty four hours suddenly disappear, but grudgingly got getting out of bed when all it really gave me were sore eyes. I replayed everything that had happened and rubbed my temples soothingly.

I really needed some Tylenol, but settled for making my way into the bathroom and take a nice, long shower instead. Feeling the hot water run down my body made me relax though; It felt so heavenly, it would've been hard not to. I eventually wrapped a towel around myself and got out, even though I have a feeling I would've been content to stay there all day. But as I was walking towards my wardrobe, I kept asking myself one question, how will I face the guys? I mean, sure, they're still the same people, but uh-wow, I never expected them to be supernaturals.

I opened the door of my walk-in closet and started rummaging through clothes. Facing the guys was one thing, but the part I was most scared about was talking to my uncle. I was scared, not of him, but of the truth, which I was sure had been left out from quite a lot of my life. I sighed and shook my head. This is getting too much.

I finally picked a black shirt , denim pants and a black converse. The black eyeliner that I applied helped make my violet eyes pop, especially with my hair hung loose. I smiled when I looked at my reflection in the mirror, I looked good.

As I made my way out of the room, nervousness overtook me. What should I say to them? How should I act? What should I do? I could hear the guys' voices from the kitchen, making me sweat. Putting my hand on the wall next to me, I waited until my nerves calmed down, well, as much as they were going to calm down I guess. I kept saying to myself, there's no need to be worried Violet, just go in there like nothing happened. Oh, but I wish it was that easy.

"Violet, we know you're there." Giovanni called out. I gasped and took a hesitant step forward. How could they tell? My heartbeat was the only thing I could hear. Boom-boom-boom. My breathing quickened as I started walking, taking small steps as though I was walking to my death. I tried to walk faster, but my body just wouldn't allow me to. After what felt like forever, the boys came into view. They were all sitting around the kitchen table having breakfast, faces looking expectant, as though waiting for something. Me, I guess.

"Sleeping beauty finally woke up." I gave Bryson a small smile and nodded.

"Good morning." I murmured, sitting next to Bryson. All the guys replied with a

"Good morning," or grunt of some type, back and continued on with their meal. I put some pancakes on my plate and dug in.

After finishing a quiet breakfast, all of us went to the living room and sat in silence. Again.

Bryson coughed, looking around the room, finding the ceiling interesting. Giovanni sent him a glare, making Bryson go to cough again, but stopping after he received a second glare.

"Well this is awkward." Bryson pointed out, putting his hands on his knees, while raising his eyebrows. I smiled at that. Bryson can be pretty straightforward.

"Yeah." I agreed, still looking down. I guess I have to start this, as much as I don't want to.

"Look." I stated, looking at the guys. " What happened yesterday is a little big to take in, I just need a little time. I never believed that supernatural beings were even real and, well, what happened yesterday was a bomb. Yesterday, I only knew that my father was the King of Witches-" I was about to continue when Remus interrupted.

"You knew about that?" Shock was evident in his voice. I simply nodded and continued on.

"Like I was saying, yesterday I knew that my father was king and him being a witch means that I'm a witch too. But that was where my knowledge stops, so to be honest, I don't really know what to do right now." I sighed. "Being a werewolf, vampire, angel, demon. Even an elf-"

"There are no such things as elves," Grinned Bryson, interrupting me. As he spoke, I took in what he was wearing, a white shirt with blue writing across it and fitted grey jeans. Hmm, not bad, I thought, and immediately bit my tongue softly, stopping myself from accidently speaking out loud and inflating that big ego of his. Just what he needed, not.

"Let her finish." Barked Giovanni, snapping me out of my thoughts and making Bryson roll his eyes.

"Sheesh, someone's in his time of the month." My jaw dropped to the floor at that. Oh no. Bryson was grinning from ear to ear, while Giovanni was turning red. I wasn't sure if it was from anger or embarrassment... probably both.

"Shut. Up." He hissed, crossing his arms. I smiled at the way his hair fell over his eyes, making him look kind of cute. Why did all these guys have to be so damn good looking! Hmm yeah, that was probably another thought to keep to myself.

"Aw, someone's embarrassed? Oh, are you embarrassed Gigi?" I covered my mouth to keep in a laugh. Remus was doing the same and surprisingly, Eros was smiling too.

"Gigi?" I questioned with a raised eyebrow. "No offence Bry, but isn't 'Gigi' a girl's name?" Giovanni was glowering at Bryson and I didn't blame him for that. I mean, who wants to be called 'Gigi'? Bryson was about to respond but suddenly stopped, making my smile falter. He had a big smirk on his face, and boy was it creepy.

"Guys, do you wanna know what Giovanni's first girlfriend called him?" He asked us with raised eyebrows. Giovanni's eyes widened as he heard what Bry said. Was it that bad?

"I don't know you people." Eros shook his head while putting a hand on his forehead. He looked kindof, well, cute. I mentally slapped myself at that one. That's definitely a big no-no. Thinking about Eros in this way will only lead to you falling for him, and Violet, you do not want to fall for Eros!

I kept chanting the exact same sentence over and over again. I sighed, hoping that it actually got through to my stupid brain, and leaned backwards in my chair, returning to the conversation around me. I guess I'll talk to them all later, asclearly, Bryson and Giovanni's chit chat is far more important that what I've got to say. Looking up, I saw Remus chuckling. Huh, why the hell is he even-

"Can you stop reading my mind?" I snapped, looking directly at Remus, as it hit me like a slap in the face. Damnit, forgot about that! He just shook his head, still chuckling, and started walking out of the room.

"Oh, Violet," My head went to Remus, "You're Uncle said to come to his office ASAP, along with Eros." He winked and in a flash, was out of the room. My blood had started boiling when he said that, and just the thought of spending the next half an hour with him made me want to pull my hair out in frustration. Why did my Uncle even want Eros to come with me? He's nothing except a big baboon! My eyes wandered over to Eros and I found him staring at me. The coldness was still there, but it was as if it had, I don't know, lessened? If that was even possible... Eros abruptly stood up and walked out of the room, and I took that as a signal for me to get up and follow him. Walking through the corridors, I kept staring at his back, making me wish I knew what he was thinking. He must have felt my laser stare however, because every now and then he would glance back at me.

Reaching my uncle's office, Eros knocked on the door and open it once we heard a voice come from inside.Uncle Connor was sitting behind his desk with his hands entwined, his face changing into a smile when he saw us coming. Eros and I sat on opposite chairs waiting for my uncle to start talking, as if we both were as nervous as each other, though I couldn't think of anything Eros had to be nervous about.

"Well," My uncle started, "as you know Violet, you're a witch. But you're not an ordinary witch, as you may have guessed by now, due to your knowledge of your father's place on the throne. So this does mean you're from royal blood, and yes, you are a princess. Also, this information may be new to you, but witches' powers allow them to be close to magic that controls the four elements. An ordinary witch can control one element, whilst royals can be gifted with two or more. Your father controlled air, water and earth. My elements are water and air."

"But if he controlled water, then why didn't he stop the fire?" My voice echoed through the room.

Uncle Connor sighed, We still don't know what happened, but when he tried, he couldn't use any of his powers. We believe that someone may have managed to put something into his food that prevented Louis from using his elements when he needed to." He paused, then continued. "As I was saying, you're powers are not known yet, so that's why you will take a test to see which ones prevail. After we know what your powers are, you will be trained on how to use them correctly and with control. Then, you will be announced to the world as the Princess of All Witches, and will be expected to attend balls."

I stared at him wide eyed, with my mouth gaping.

"Close your mouth, you look like a fish." My head snapped in Eros direction at his rude comment. I shot him a glare, but allhe did was smirk.

"What? I'm only being honest." He stated, shrugging innocently.

"Shut up." I muttered. I thought over what I had just been told about me having so called 'powers'. If I want to know what my elements are soon, then I guess I better do the so called 'test' as soon as possible.

"When can I do the test?" I asked staring at my uncle.

"Right now."

Damn, I wasn't expecting that answer.
