《Allah's Plan For You & Me》Imam Sajjad (as) and Tragedy Of Karbala & Soil of the grave
Advertisement
Once a man came to Imam Sajjad (as) and said, "Years have passed on Tragedy of Karbala but you still weep. You should stop weeping now. You and your forefathers themselves said 'Martyrdom is our inheritance' then if your father, uncle, brothers and companions of your father were martyred, why you weep?"
"O man! Martyrdom is our inheritance, Imam (as) replied adding that, but was it also our inheritance that veils of daughters of Prophet (saw) whom even the sun had not seen were taken away?!
They were fixed in ropes with their hands behind their necks, their tents were set on fire, they were seated on bare backs of camels, and brought to the bazaars of Syria and Kufa and courts of Yazid and Ibn-e-Ziad!"
--"Surely, I have never brought to mind the martyrdom of the children of Fatimah (as) except that I have been choked with tears due to it."
-- "Every Mu'min, whose eyes shed tears upon the killing of Hussein Ibn Ali (as) and his companions, such that the tears roll down his cheeks, Allah shall accommodate him in the elevated rooms of Paradise."
-- "We, descendants of the Noble Prophet of Islam (saw), have been trained from childhood to face afflictions and sufferings.
We know that those who are loved by Allah are tried by Him and if they remain steadfast and true to their faith in Him, then only He bestows His Divine favors on them in the hereafter which is permanent and not transitory like this worldly life."

You may notice different ways of writing the name of Imam Hussain (as) throughout the writings below but they all mean the same clearly. Just written differently.
al-Husayn, Hussain, Hussein
Soil which is in the vicinity of the grave of Imam Hussain (as) is sacred.
Allah has bestowed it with beneficence, unsurpassed in compassion to any other material.
Allah has ordained it to be a cure for every illness, and source of Barakat and Divine mercy.
Soil of Imam al-Hussain (as) grave is a soil taken from around the grave of Imam al-Hussain (a).
According to hadiths, the soil has a great value and putting the forehead on it in prostration is recommended.
The soil is used for making turba and misbaha. Regarding the significance of the soil it has special rulings.
It is the most sacred of all things that can be used for prostration during the worship of Allah. The significance and blessings of this soil have been mentioned in various narrations.
The area suitable for collecting the soil is mentioned differently. The closer the soil to the grave of Imam Hussain (as) the more its magnificence and effects.
It is reported that long before the event of 'Ashura, Jibraeel (Gabriel) - or another Angel - brought the Prophet (saw) some soil from Karbala, and told him that it would turn the color of blood when Imam al-Hussain (as) was martyred.
The Prophet (saw) was very touched, and gave the soil to Umm Salama, who kept it in a glass container.
Imam al-Hussain (as) related the story of the soil given to Umm Salama when he arrived at Karbala.
According to some narrations, she told him about it when he was about to start his journey from Medina.
Some narrations state that the soil was with Umm Salama until her death, while others say that it was with Imam al-Baqir (as).
This event has been narrated in both Shi'a and Sunni sources by numerous companions and some wives of the Prophet (saw).
Due to differences in the reports regarding which angel brought the soil, some suggest that it may have occurred more than once.

There are also explicit and implicit mentions of the event in some supplications of the Imams.
When Imam 'Ali (as) was passing Karbala before and after the battle of Siffin, he told his companions what the Prophet (saw) had said about the significance of the soil of Karbala.
When Imam 'Ali (as) was passing the location of Imam al-Hussain (as)'s martyrdom, he cried, referred to the event of 'Ashura and mentioned the significance of the soil of Karbala.
In one of these accounts, Imam Ali (as) takes a handful of Karbala's soil and after smelling it says "O' soil! there will be resurrected upon you a group of people who shall enter paradise, provided therein without any reckoning."
along with foreseeing the martyrdom of Imam al-Hussain (as), explained the significance of the soil on which he would be martyred to his disciples.
has kissed soil of Karbala and cried. The Imams have described the soil as being "mubaraka" (blessed), "tahira" (immaculate) and "miska mutabarrika" (blessed Musk).
Some reports mention the Angels' affection towards the soil of Karbala.
According to some narrations, the healing effect of the soil is conditional to believing in it or believing in the Imamate of Imam al-Hussain (as). The manner of collecting and consuming the soil is also important for its effect.
said, "Nothing is as good as the soil of the grave in giving healing, except Du'a (supplication).
There is a narration that someone came to Imam Sadiq (as) and said to him, 'There is a woman who gave some thread to me and said to give it to the worker of holy Kabba so they use that thread to sew the fabric of kabba with it.'
Imam (as) responded, 'With that go and buy some honey and saffron, then get some soil of the grave of Imam Hussain (as) and mix it with some rain water and pour it onto the saffron and honey and give it to our Shias to cure their sick patients with it."
Someone had come to Imam Sadiq (as) and said to him, "I have many illnesses and whichever medicine I used didn't help."
Imam (as) replied, "Why don't you consume the soil of Imam Hussain's (as) grave because it has the cure to every illness and safety from misfortunes/disasters?"
When you are taking the soil, say:
That man said, "I understood the healing for every sickness but how about the safety from any disasters?"
Imam (as) responded, "When you are afraid of any cruel person or any misfortunes/disasters. When exiting your house, carry his (as) soil and and when grabbing it say:
اَللّهُمَّ هـذِهِ طينَةُ قَبْرِ الْحُسَيْنِ وَلِيِّکِ وَابْنِ وَلِيِّکَ اِتَّخَذْتُها حِرْزآ لِما اَخافُ وَما لا اَخافُ».
I was praying in the Jama Masjid of Madinah and sitting next to me were two men, one of whom was dressed like a traveller.
He was saying: the turbah of Imam Husayn (as) has cure for all diseases. I was sick for a long time and no cure was effective. I was losing all hopes of recovering. Death was staring me in the face.
An old lady of Kufa came to me when I was in extreme pain. She told me that day by day my condition was worsening. 'Yes', I said, 'This is true.'
She said if I permitted she can provide a cure for me. I agreed to it. She put some water in a vessel and told me to drink it. I drank it and was instantly cured, as if I had never been ill.

After a few months the lady visited me again. Her name was Salma. I put her under oath to tell me how she had cured me?
She said that she had cured me with a bead of the tasbih she was holding in her hand at that time. I asked what was the speciality of that tasbih.
She said it was made from the soil of the grave of Imam Husayn (as).
I said: 'O Rafidiyya! Did you cure me with the soil of the grave of Husayn?'
The lady arose in anger and went away.
My illness returned, and my condition was so serious that I was convinced of an early death.
The man's faith should have been enhanced by this edifying incident. Instead he insulted it and lost the benefits he had gained from it.
He suffered the disease again, becoming an example of the ayat,
"And We reveal of the Qur'an that which is a healing and a mercy to the believers, and it adds only to the perdition of the unjust."
(Surah al-'Isra', 17:82)
How true are the couplets of Sadi, which say: Rain water is Allah (swt)'s Mercy.
There is no doubt in its benefits and purity.
But a drop that falls into the mouth of an oyster becomes a precious pearl, and a drop that falls in the mouth of the snake becomes fatal poison.
It is highly recommended to carry some of the soil of Karbala with oneself, as it attracts divine blessings and keeps one secure.
Imam al-Rida (as) would put a little of the soil along with anything that he wanted to carry, seemingly for the sake of security.
said, "Open your babies tongue by the soil of grave of Imam Hussain (as) as it keeps them away from disasters."
Soil of Karbala causes growth in sustenance, dignity and beneficial knowledge, and eliminates poverty.
There is a disagreement as to whether these effects are from consuming the soil or from carrying it.
Humans are not to eat any soils, any, except the soil of the grave of Imam Hussain (as).
That's the only one that is permissible to consume, it is holy, healing and grand as explained before.
It shouldn't be mistaken with any other soils.
There are hadiths that mentions, consuming the soil should be as much as the size of a lentil.
Therefore, it's important to not consume more than the size of a lentil. And it's better to get some the size of a lentil and mix it with a little water and drink it.
"A Believer should always have 5 things with themselves toothbrush, hairbrush, prayer mat, Aqeeq ring, and a Tasbih with at least 34 beads made of the soil of the grave of Imam Hussain (as).
It's been narrated from Imam Sadiq (as), "Whoever uses Tasbih of the soil, their every Istighfar equals to 70 Istighfar.
And if they just hold the Tasbih and don't say anything, with every beads of their Tasbih, 7 Istighfar will be written in their report of deeds.
Istighfar: is the act of seeking forgiveness from Allah, usually by saying 'astagfiru-llah'. A longer variant is 'astagfiru-llaha rabbi wa-atubu ilayh' which means "Verily, I seek the forgiveness of Allah, who is my Lord and Sustainer, and I turn to Him in repentance".
A man had asked Imam Sadiq (as), 'that there are people who use the soil of Imam Hussain's grave and get their answers and for some other, they do not see any results.
What is the reason for these?'
Imam (as) responded, "Whoever truly believes in the effectiveness of the soil will see the result and get their answer."
Another hadith of the Imam (as) is that, "Leaving the soil in an unsuitable place and not believing in its effectiveness will reduce its
blessings."
But whoever that is certain the soil will grant them healing, whenever they try to use it, they won't need any other medications.
Disrespect is shown by throwing it, stepping upon it or making it Najis (dirty), etc.
If one drops a rosary (tasbih) or Mohr of Turbah accidentally in the toilet, one is obliged to pick it up at once and purify it. It is Haram to use this toilet till the Turbah is removed. If removing it is not feasible the toilet must be sealed to prevent its use in future.
Shaykh Tusi mentions in the Amali quoting from Musa Ibn Abdul Aziz that he said: One Christian Physician by the name of Yohanna came to me and said, 'I put you under the oath of your religion and your Prophet, you tell me whether the man buried in Karbala, for whose Ziarat people come in hordes, was a companion of the Prophet?'
I said, 'No! He was the grandson of our Prophet (Saw), Imam Husayn (as).
Now! I put you under oath to tell why you had posed such a question to me?'
He said, 'I have heard a very strange tale about him. One night, Shapur the servant of the accursed Caliph Harun came to me and took me to Musa Ibn Isa a close relative of the Caliph.
I found him unconscious on his bed. His internal organs were lying in a pail before him.
Those days Harun had summoned him from Kufa. Shapur asked the special servant of Musa what was the matter with his master.
He said that he was all right a few hours ago and chatting with his colleagues. One of them was Hashemite.
He was saying: I was seriously ill and all the doctors had failed to cure my sickness.
My scribe suggested that I seek the cure from the Turbah of Imam Husayn (as).
I followed this advice and was cured.
Musa asked him if he had a piece of that turbah remaining with him? 'Yes', he said, and sent someone to get it for Musa at once.
In order to defile it Musa threw it in the drain pipe of his bathroom. Suddenly Musa screamed 'Fire! Fire!' as if he was burning in fire.
He asked for a pail and what you see in it are the pieces of his internal organs.
Seeing that, all his friends left his house and a state of mourning descended on his family.
Shapur told me to remain there for the night and observe his condition and draw some conclusion.
He stayed for the night and Musa passed away at dawn.'
The narrator says that Yohanna the Christian visited the tomb of Imam Husayn (as) many times and ultimately he accepted Islam and remained a Muslim all his life.
This report is also mentioned in the 10th volume of Bihar al-Anwar.
Mirza Husayn Nuri (r.a.) writes in his book Darus Salam that one of his brother went to visit their mother.
He was carrying the Turbah of Imam Husayn (as) in one of his lower pockets. When his mother came to know of this she reprimanded him that this was not the way to carry Turbah.
There was a strong possibility that it gets crushed under the thigh while one sits, and would be an act of disrespect.
The brother said that it was true and till then two mohrs had got crushed under his thighs. He told mother that he would never ever carry it in the lower pocket of the gown.
Now our father was unaware of this incident and one night he had a dream that Imam Husayn (as) had come to visit him in his study. He stood besides my father and spoke with kindness and generosity. Then he requested my father to summon his sons so that he
may present them some gifts.
My father had five sons. He called all of them and seated them in the opposite room. Some dresses were kept in front of Imam (as).
He summoned each son in turn and presented him a dress. When it was the turn of my brother who had carried the Turbah. Imam (as) glared at him in anger. He (as) told my father that 'This son of yours has crushed my turbah under his thigh, two times so far.' Imam (as) did not present him with an expensive dress like the rest of the brothers. His dress was of inferior quality and Imam (as) did not even hand it over to him. He kept it out of the room for him to pick it.
When my father awoke he related the dream to our mother who told him about the previous incident. My father was astounded at the reality of his dream.
We beseech the Almighty by the holy name of the chief of the Martyrs (as) that He give us the Tawfiq to seek forgiveness for the sins that we have committed in the past and to abstain from sins in future.
The fiftieth Greater sin mentioned in the book of Greater sins is Disrespect To The Soil Of Imam Hussain (as) Grave (Turbah)
said, "Whenever shayateen (demons) and Jinns who are unbelievers take the soil, and rub it to themselves, it will reduce its effectiveness.
Whenever the soil of the grave of Imam Hussain (as) passes them, they smell it.
Then get jealous of the children of Adam (as).
Therefore, they rub themselves to it so it reduces its good smell and effectiveness.
Whenever people take soil from the place, there are many shayateen who because of the fear they have of the Angels cannot enter the place, remain outside so they can rub themselves to the soils that are taken out of the place and if the soil remains safe from touching the bodies of the shayateen.
Any sick person that consumes it will immediately get healed. Thus, whenever you are taking the soil, tie it into something, hide it and say in the name of Allah a lot (Bismillah) for it.
There is another hadith that says, "I have heard there are many people who grab the soil, and take it lightly.
To the point that they put it in the sack that's used for feeding animals or inside the
Dishes that are used for serving food.
How can they expect healing from such soil?
Without a doubt anyone who does not believe in matters that are for their own good, corrput their deeds."
Imam Sadiq (as) said, "When you want to eat the soil, first kiss the soil, the put it on both of your eyes and don't eat more than a pea or (lentil) and whoever eats more than that, it's as if they have eaten our flesh and blood.
And whenever you are taking it from the grave, say:
Then put the soil in a cloth and tie it. Then read Surah Al-Qadr for it.
And in another hadith, Imam (as) said, "Whoever eats the soil with not then intention of receiving healing from it, it's as if they have eaten our flesh.
And whenever anyone is eating it with the intention of healing, they should say:
Then say the name of the sickness, then eat the soil and drink a glass of water after it and say:
اَللّهُمَّ اجْعَلْهُ رِزْقآ واسِعآ وَعِلْمآ نافِعآ وَشِفاءً مِنْ كُلِّ داءٍ وَسُقْمٍ
With this deed, their pain, sickness, and sadness will be healed."

James was in his 30's when his death came suddenly, not that he minded much, as life was seeming to drag on. His story, however, did not end with his death. As a point of fact, it had only just begun. This will be my first work, so please by all means comment with any errors I may have made. Suggestions for the story (which may or may not be used). This is a litrpg and a bit of a power fantasy, so be warned the protagonist will be pretty OP eventually.
8 103The Destiny of a Mortal God (Hiatus)
Currently on hiatus, in part because I'm unsatisfied with how the story was starting to develop, and even though I had ideas how to run it, I still made mistakes far too big to correct them. Secondly I'm currently stressed about university, and sincerely, I don't see myself keeping this project. I may or may not retake this project or even start a new one, but one thing's for sure, it isn't happening anytime soon (Meaning until june, aprox, or until I can keep up with class). ... Lyon Ironblood, 19 years old and orphan, is taken by Kronos from the present Earth to another world, where he shall fight and struggle to get stronger so that he shall acomplish the mission Kronos assigned him. He shall fight gods, demons, dragons and monsters and even mortals who surpass those. But to do so he shall receive, though only after he proved himself worthy, a power beyond imagination. This power will not be handed freely to him, and he'll have to work hard to develop it. He shall receive the X-Men System. A magic system designed to enhance Lyon and give him the mutations from the X-Men serie. He shall start from scratch, with powers that will seem less than a mere human, and develop them with effort, to surpass the gods. [I don't claim ownership of any of the X-Men powers or characters, neither the cover, only thing I claim are the ideas which make the story and put together their powers, how they'll develop from scratch to even higher worlds than they were suposed on the series, other than that, all X-Men characters named (which I'll try to avoid to a certain point) are not of my property]
